Chapter 15 - ◆ A Pseudo-System and A Bad Build.

United in Hatred Arc: Chapter 15.

(Four times, I have leveled up four times, and that should mean I am level five right now.) Winter thought about the times he had leveled up. The first three levels were from slaying those undead, and the fourth one was today.

Petel Stenenem arrived but hasn't said a word, only small acknowledging nods. He knelt and took out a knife from his pocket, cleanly cutting away the goblin's tall ears. Claudia Osser also grabbed a knife from her knapsack and started cutting away the goblin's ears.

This was the standard practice in this world — to provide proof of extermination. However, manifestations/summons are common threats that dissipate upon defeat or death. The way to provide evidence of extermination is by observing the magic in the location; if there was a significant drop, then that's the proof.

Winter thought of an idea, a way to track his progress. He was going to use Bricks; it was his assistant, anyway. He then moved away from his two allies, creating enough distance.

"Bricks, you are aware of my techniques and skills, right? Like, you know everything about me and my classes and stuff."

◆ [ Correct. ] ◆

"I have an idea. I want you to act as my pseudo-leveling system. As of right now, I am level five, and I still have one hundred and ninety-six levels to go."

Winter added, slightly relieved that BRICKS now had an idea of what leveling was.

"You noticed it too, correct? I get stronger when I feel a sudden surge of power. Like slowly unlocking my abilities or techniques?"

◆ [ That was my assumption; you're correct. ] ◆

"Now, when I say the word status. I want you to display my name, levels, class, techniques, skills, and abilities. I want you to display it in a neat line; don't clutter everything in sentences." Winter whispered while waving to Claudia, gesturing that he was fine.

◆ [ Understood. ] ◆

"Now, Status."

(Oh damn, looking at this stat sheet makes me cry. This build is horrible. There are some synergies, but they're rather mediocre.)

Winter sighed lightly, shaking his head.

(My younger version of me was unaware of synergies. Just straight up picking the classes that sounded awesome.)

Winter cleaned his scorch dagger with a piece of cloth while brooding.

In Adventure Fable Worlds: Dragon Lords, players can buy most classes from vendors or specific characters who represent the classes. The classes can be bought with gold, specific materials, redeemed, and finally, premium currency.

Dragon Coins.

There are five starting classes. The fighter, supporter, rogue, mage, and ranger.

The players can pick two as their main starter classes, and the rest will have to be earned, bought, or redeemed. Classes that have apostrophes can be upgraded, usually only once. The upgraded class merges certain techniques and sometimes merges skills.

Winter kicked away the corpse of a fallen goblin; the head was splattered along with the ears on the ground. The ears were no longer harvestable. He made a mental note to tell his two allies to practice restraint next time.

(Fighter is a basic melee class, and Supporter is a basic healing and buffing class.) Winter thought while cutting away the tall ear of a goblin.

The ear went up in flames, turning into embers. He forgot to switch to another knife.

"Ah, crap."

Winter grabbed a smaller knife and cut an ear. (I don't recognize buying this Sorcerer class, but this allows me to cast spells. Guardian is a tank class and has some synergy with the Fighter class.)

(Automaton, it's a basic buyable class. It overclocks your techniques and skills. Not much else, a passive heavy class.)

A passive heavy class is a class that mostly provides passive skills. All passive heavy classes are bought with premium currency.

(Warlord, I don't remember what this class was. It's most likely a melee one, and so is Grand Berserker. I'm going to have to ask BRICKS for an expansive description of these classes.)

(Survivalist is another passive heavy class that can be upgraded. Finally, the Possessor class. This one sucks, but seeing your character absorb multiple spirits to enhance abilities and attacks was awesome back then.)

"To sum it up. It's a shitty build that the youthful version of me cooked up."

Winter finished his thoughts and then waved away the display.

"I am surprised that you've inputted the genius tags and apostrophes, BRICKS."

◆ [ The genius tags are your special proficiency in a class. The apostrophe dictates that your class is upgradable. I've an extensive amount of information about your journey and encounters, Winter. ] ◆

◆[ The sudden loss of your strength has rendered most of your classes inactive, but with time and effort, these can be recovered. ]◆

BRICKS answered with confidence, and Winter agreed that it's merely a matter of time, and he had all the time that he needed. A satisfied smirk was plastered on his face, and as he was about to return to his two allies waiting for him.

Winter's whole figure quivered, as if it were fighting an invisible battle inside. This strange sensation was a mixture of fear, desperation, and rage.

Winter's heart felt heavy, as if someone was clutching it tightly. The pressure was intense, and it felt like the grip was getting stronger until a pranking shove from Claudia interrupted the sensation, dissipating the pressure.

"Ey! What took you so long?" Claudia said with a wide, friendly grin. "What were you muttering to yourself?"

Winter stared with blank eyes for a moment before coming back to his senses. There was something inside him that wanted to come out. With a strained chuckle, he walked with Claudia, heading towards the next goblin camp.
