Chapter 144 - [144] Sizzling Spells and Swedish Bound

"Cut it open! Peel it!" Vizette continued to cast his domestic magic.

Although Xenophilius usually only makes stews, he always has a full set of knives ready.

In addition to chef's knives, bread knives, and peelers, there are also specialized meat cutters, slicing knives, and fish cutters.

As Vizette cast his home-life magic, a fish-cutting knife flew up and precisely pierced the fish's belly to remove its internal organs, then shaved off its head, tail, fins, and skin.

This is the best he can do so far. To achieve more refined scaling and deboning, he needs more practice; practice makes perfect.

"Pickle!" Vizette tapped the salt shaker, the salt and fish pieces mixing together and tumbling in the bowl.

All that was left was time to prepare the side dishes. After chopping the ingredients with his home life magic, he went to the side and lit the stove. "Incendio!"

The hot pan with cold oil kept the flame burning, and the marinated fish pieces crackled and popped, while wisps of gray smoke rose up.

"Disperse!" Vizette murmured, flicking his wand forward.

The cooking fumes were propelled by an invisible force, all of them escaping outside the window.

Luna came over to Vizette and clapped her hands. "Wow... Dad's fish always falls apart when he fries it, so he likes to stew it."

"Using a hot pan with cold oil and frying slowly, even without magic, makes it less likely to break the fish," Vizette explained.

"Can I learn this first?"

"If you have some understanding of the Levitation Charm, it will be easier to get started with home magic... How about we start with the Levitation Charm this afternoon?"

"Yes, Professor Vizette!"

If you are skilled in using magic, cooking is just a mentally taxing task. Whether it's scrubbing off grease or washing dishes, it can all be done with magic, which is very convenient.

Vizette also cooked a pot of noodles, topped with scrambled eggs with tomatoes, which completed his lunch for the day.

"Scourgify!" He waved his wand, cleaned up the kitchen, and together with Luna, brought the dishes to the table.

The two locked eyes and waited quietly at the table.

Before long, green flames appeared in the fireplace.

Xenophilius came out and sniffed sharply, "Hiss... Vizette, did you make this?"

"I'm still learning, so I can only cook simple dishes." Vizette nodded.

Looking at the plate of golden, dry, and fragrant pan-fried fish chunks and three steaming bowls of tomato and egg noodles on the table, Xenophilius couldn't help but swallow.

Although it's simple, this kid... only studied it for three days!

Thinking about it this way, it's no wonder Snape was willing to give private lessons.

He sighed deeply, and suddenly missed Pandora again; her learning ability was also very strong.

...

After lunch, only a little soup remained on the plates on the table.

Xenophilius yawned and slumped casually in his chair like a blanket drying on a bush.

His eyes were half-open, looking quite relaxed. "Vizette, cook me less next time... burp! I'm a little full... burp!"

"Okay!" Vizette nodded.

He cooked a pot of noodles, scooped some out for himself, Luna scooped some out for herself, and the rest of the noodles ended up in Xenophilius's stomach.

Despite the large portion size, Xenophilius finished the noodles, indicating that the tomato and egg noodles and the fried fish were both quite successful.

"Hiccup!" Xenophilius slowly stood up, found a piece of parchment and placed it on the table. "The travel destination has been decided!"

He picked up a pen and sketched a rough map, which was easy to see was a map that included England and Sweden.

Luna possesses exceptional artistic talent, likely inherited from her father.

Xenophilius wrote down a few place names, coughed lightly, and said, "Ahem... I was thinking of going to Sweden via Portkey, but the prices quoted by those hotels were all too expensive!"

"With Cornelius Fudge around, the wizarding world is getting more and more corrupt! It's a Portkey that can be used by multiple people, but the innkeeper says it's only for single people and costs sixty Galleons per person. Why doesn't it just rob Gringotts?"

Among the various ways wizards travel, the advantage of the Portkey is that it not only allows them to quickly reach another location, but also requires no special training and is applicable to almost all wizards.

"Alright, let's not talk about these mood-ruining topics." Xenophilius picked up his pen and added a locomotive and a ship. "Now we have two routes to choose from."

He picked up his pen, circled the locomotive, and said, "Go to King's Cross Station, then onto Platform 9¾, and take the train all the way to Stockholm, Sweden."

"Another one…" He picked up his pen again and circled the image of the ship, "We can take a magic ship and dive into the water to Stockholm, Sweden."

"Well, the two routes are about the same..." Xenophilius scratched his head, "and the train and boat tickets are about the same price, so you can choose!"

Vizette and Luna simultaneously reached out and pointed to the same spot: the magic ship.

"You two planned this together?" Xenophilius raised an eyebrow. "Why did you both choose the magic ship?"

Luna laughed and said, "I think taking a boat trip would be more interesting, as you can see the underwater world."

"When school starts, Luna will be on the Hogwarts Express," Vizette said.

Xenophilius scratched his head again. "Wait... I didn't hear you clearly. Why did you both choose the same? Come on, baby! You go first!"

...

He finally understood, "This afternoon, I'll go to 'Viking House' and sign the contract with them so we can officially set off!"

"Vizette, bring all the clothes you need. It might get cold in Sweden at night. I don't think I need to pack these for you, do I?"

"I'll take care of it myself, don't worry... Mr. Lovegood, what about the garden? Are you planning to hire someone to look after it?"

"I've asked a friend for help. Don't worry!"

"OK!"

...

After a short nap at noon, Vizette rubbed his eyes, picked up two notebooks and his previous hand-drawn textbook, and slowly walked into the living room.

Fortunately, he moved quietly, and Luna was asleep on the table in the living room on the first floor.

She curled up like a kitten, her body pressed against the back of the chair, one cheek resting on her knee, her long eyelashes fluttering gently with her breath.

Her fluffy, light golden hair fell loosely over her body, as if she wanted to hide the picture book in her arms.

She had gone fishing and playing by the stream in the morning, and then painted in the living room at noon. She must have been very tired, so it was normal for her to fall asleep now.

Vizette smiled and shook his head, intending to leave the living room even more quietly so that Luna could get some more sleep.

Before he could turn around, Luna let out a cat-like whimper, rubbed her eyes, and sat up.

Then, the picture book fell to the ground.

In the white picture book, there was a straight figure, whose profile could be vaguely seen. He calmly waved his wand, causing various knives to float into the air.

Judging from the image alone, the details depicted in the painting suggested a scene of a wizard casting spells and wielding knives to defend himself against an enemy.

Vizette was so moved by the painting that his eyes widened in shock…
