Chapter 114 - [114Bonus] Secrets of the Mirror of Erised

The next day, the final Quidditch match took place as scheduled.

As the captain of Gryffindor, Wood still came over to greet Roger, even though there was no substitute Seeker, and told Ravenclaw to give it his all and not to hold back.

Roger watched Wood's slightly dejected figure as he walked away, and couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. "He truly loved Quidditch with his life, it's just that he wasn't very lucky!"

He patted Vizette on the shoulder again, "Well... I feel like as long as you haven't graduated, Gryffindor probably... has very little chance of winning the championship."

The vice-captain coughed repeatedly, "Captain... you'd better say less! What if Wood hears you and comes back to challenge you to a duel?"

The best way to respect your opponent is, of course, to fully demonstrate your own strength.

Without a substitute Seeker, the score of this Quidditch match was 50 to 470, resulting in an unprecedented crushing defeat for Gryffindor.

Roger had finally fulfilled his wish, successfully lifting the long-awaited trophy before graduation.

Under Professor Flitwick's magical manipulation, golden rain fell from the sky, and ribbons and flags drew colorful arcs in the air.

The Quidditch pitch instantly became the center of the celebration, with Ravenclaw students swarming onto the pitch, countless hands falling on the players, and celebratory songs and applause rising and falling.

...

Vizette still remembered the note left by Dumbledore, and he also had many questions in his mind that he wanted to get answers from Dumbledore.

After the celebration, Vizette left the common room and ran into many familiar students.

"Vizette! That was a beautiful shot!"

"Thanks!"

"Vizette! Have you ever considered joining a professional team?"

"We don't have any similar ideas yet..."

"Vizette! Can I get your autograph? If you ever join a professional team, this autograph will be worth a lot of money!"

"Uh... don't push... one at a time!"

Having finally escaped the surging crowd, Vizette stood before the gargoyle sculpture, following the route he remembered.

"Sherbet Lemon!"

The crouching gargoyle statue came to life, folded its large wings, and jumped to the side, revealing the spiral staircase hidden behind it.

Vizette knocked for a while before the principal's office door slowly opened with a scraping sound.

The moment Vizette stepped into the room, Fawkes, who was in mid-air, swung and landed on his shoulder.

Vizette took out a Dirigible-shaped pendant. "Thank you so much... It must have been very tiring to be a pendant for a whole semester, right?"

Fawkes shook his head gently, nuzzled Vizette's neck, and then, with the Dirigible in his mouth, flapped his wings and returned to the bird perch.

The principal's office was very quiet, except for the silverware emitting smoke and making strange, tiny noises.

Many of the figures in those portraits are not here; the portraits that remain are all dozing off.

"Where is Headmaster Dumbledore…" Vizette looked around, his brows furrowing slightly.

An enormous mirror stood before the window, blocking out the light.

This is an incredibly grand mirror, reaching to the ceiling, with exquisite serpentine reliefs on its frame.

The snake-shaped sculpture supporting the base looks especially lifelike, as if it might pounce forward at any moment to hunt and tightly coil around its prey.

In fact, Vizette had seen this mirror just two nights ago.

Dumbledore was lying in ambush in the headmaster's office at the time. He entered the basement through this mirror, which not only protected Harry but also subdued Voldemort.

The magical world contains so many wondrous things;

Whether it's magical plants, magical animals, moving paintings, or even all sorts of everyday objects, they may all possess unimaginable magic.

Just like this mirror, it also possesses unpredictable magic.

Vizette approached the bird perch. "Fawkes, where's Headmaster Dumbledore?"

Fawkes first shook his head, then stretched his neck forward, flew to the desk and paced a couple of steps.

"Are you asking me to sit down first?" Vizette pulled out a chair, but his attention still couldn't help but fall on the mirror.

He saw three different images in the mirror.

The image on the left is a pitch-black chaos, with occasional flashes of ash-like red light;

These ashen red lights would occasionally converge to form a very strange and grotesque pattern;

The image resembled a skull with its mouth open, from which a thick python emerged, writhing like a tongue.

Looking at the pattern, Vizette felt a strange sense of familiarity, as well as a peculiar sense of control that was both close and distant.

It seems that the pattern already belongs to him, but because he cannot understand its essence, he cannot fully grasp it.

After a while, he stopped looking at the chaotic scene and turned to look at the center.

The middle scene shows him reading, as if he were immersed in an ocean of books;

Whether on the sides or behind, stacks of books, like pillars, reach all the way to the ceiling. These books are endless, and you can't see the end of them at a glance.

The image emitted a faint light, framing the two sides of the scene, as if asserting sovereignty;

It seems to be trying to illustrate that the image in the middle is dominant.

The scene on the right is pure white, like a snowfield, but much warmer. It seems to be free of any dirt, a truly flawless scene.

Vizette was drawn to the mirror and stood up, pacing back and forth in front of it, wanting to see what would happen.

The images on the left and right sides remain unchanged; only the image in the middle reflects his movements, showing him pacing back and forth as if nothing had happened.

Vizette looked to the side and asked, "Fawkes, what do you see in this mirror?"

Fawkes tilted his head, flew to the mirror to look at himself, then blinked, flapped his wings at Vizette, and patted his chest.

"So...you saw yourself? This is just an ordinary mirror? You didn't see any darkness or pure white?"

Fawkes nodded twice, which was considered an answer to the first two questions;

It shook its head again, denying what Vizette had said next.

"That's really amazing..." Vizette murmured, casting his Magic Eye, trying to discover the mirror's secrets in this way.

The moment he cast his Magic Eye, the serpentine relief carrying the mirror came to life.

They burst forth with lightning speed, lunging forward and binding Vizette tightly.

Vizette immediately interrupted his Magic Eye, his hand just barely grasping the wand, and then he waved the wand while chanting the spell: "Nox!"

The surrounding light dimmed, and he immediately used his Devil's Snare technique to try to pull away the snake-shaped relief that bound him.

However, in the next moment, the mirror suddenly burst out with a bright silver-blue light, completely engulfing him until he disappeared into the principal's office…
