Chapter 100 - [100] Shielding Our Treasures from Deadly Peril

"You're quite clever, kid!" Aberforth laughed twice, then straightened his face. "No wonder Albus always comes to me because of you."

"I really don't know whether to say you're talented or just like any other Ravenclaw, knowing how to answer questions in a clever way…like that ring password."

Vizette remained silent, neither confirming nor denying.

Aberforth gave him a strange feeling, and the fact that he had done such a thing with a strange parchment scroll left a lingering unease in his heart, like a thorn.

But this also reminded him once again.

This was a real world, not children's literature or fairy tales; this world contained real dangers.

Even setting aside Voldemort, who already had his eye on him, there were probably very few good-natured wizards sitting in the tavern's main hall.

There were even all sorts of bizarre magical artifacts, such as that parchment scroll, which served as a prime example.

He also realized that both the Eye of Magic and the potentially rampaging Obscurus were unstable factors and could attract the covetous eyes of others.

In his previous life, he had been just a child who grew up in an orphanage, but now he had the thing he had always dreamed of most—family.

There were even more: professors who imparted all their knowledge, cheerful and sincere friends, magic, potions, Quidditch...

He didn't want these precious things to be harmed!

Therefore, he needed to possess greater power, otherwise the vision created by the Legilimency technique might one day come true.

Vizette let out a long sigh. "Aberforth, what should I do to fight Voldemort?"

Aberforth scoffed, "Fight Voldemort? Do you really think... a first-year student could possibly scatter a troll's ashes? Hahaha..."

"I didn't scatter the ashes... but on Halloween night, I used magic to dissolve a giant monster."

"Albus didn't finish telling me what happened!" Aberforth's smile froze, and he said bitterly, "He just told me that you did something amazing on Halloween Eve!"

"What kind of magic was used to deal with the troll? Dark magic? If an Obscurial casts dark magic, the effect will be amplified... Am I right?"

Vizette nodded. "Yes!"

"I don't want to know the rest." Aberforth stared at Vizette for a while. "Learning Occlumency is a very long process."

"To become an Occlumency healer, one must either have rich experience, outstanding talent, or possess extreme yet controllable emotions..."

He slowly stroked his beard, stood up, and paced back and forth, saying, "You fall into the second category, possessing outstanding talent."

Vizette remained silent, waiting for what would happen next.

"Tsk…this kid!" Aberforth curled his lip, and continued with a hint of helplessness, "From what I know of Voldemort, he is a master of Legilimency."

"In this world... the number of people who can rival him in Legilimency is probably less than the number on one hand. So your current situation is very dangerous! You need to find another way!"

Vizette responded, "Another way?"

"A literal alternative." Aberforth nodded and smiled when he heard Vizette's words. "You need to build a labyrinth within your soul to hinder Voldemort's invasion."

Vizette was somewhat confused. "Excuse me... what does 'building a labyrinth within the soul to hinder Voldemort's invasion' mean?"

Aberforth explained, "Use your beautiful memories to construct a labyrinth, and with the purest passion and beauty, fight against Voldemort's own evil and madness!"

"How exactly should we do it?" Vizette pressed.

Aberforth waved his wand, summoning a book that had been used as a step. "You have a good understanding of the concept of Occlumency, so I can relax and go straight to the practical application stage."

He handed the book to Vizette. "As a Ravenclaw, I think... you can understand the contents of this book without my explanation, right?"

Vizette took the notebook and opened the cover: To successfully perform the Occlumency technique, one needs to understand and manage one's own emotions in order to achieve emotional control...

Besides the content about Occlumency, the book also contained lines of concise and neat handwriting: "What is the meaning of those words in the book...?"

"My notes," Aberforth said, "are my humble opinions from before I had experienced so much."

Some of the habits of the two Dumbledores were quite similar...

Vizette combined the annotations in the margins with his understanding of the book's content.

The originally obscure and difficult-to-understand text had become much easier to understand.

It felt like reading "The Theory of Metamorphosis" in conjunction with Dumbledore's annotations.

Vizette quickly became engrossed in the subject, absorbing all the knowledge about Occlumency.

There was no doubt that Aberforth also possessed great talent, but he did not show it off at all, merely maintaining his public identity as a bar owner.

Before he knew it, he had finished reading the whole book and felt that he had gained a deeper understanding of Occlumency.

Aberforth noticed this and asked directly, "What have you learned?"

Vizette closed the book and tried to summarize in his own words: "The most important thing to master Occlumency is emotional management."

"By emptying your mind and practicing repeatedly, try to build a 'box' to store your emotions and prevent them from being expressed."

"It's a very long process. You need to practice consistently and reinforce your skills all the time to be able to control your emotions steadily."

"The Legilimency practitioner creates illusions, and any emotional fluctuation can become a breakthrough point for the Occlumency technique."

"We need to enhance our sensitivity to Legilimency so that we can, at crucial moments, promptly amplify the effects of Occlumency to resist illusions..."

"That's enough!" Aberforth interrupted. "You read well. I didn't expect you to understand the gist of it in such a short time."

"Should we start practicing now?" Vizette asked.

"Aren't you hungry?" Aberforth raised an eyebrow. "If you wanted to get here from Hogwarts, you should have left right after class, right?"

Before Vizette could refuse, he began to wave his wand and cast a spell as if humming a song.

The bread ingredients on the corner shelf obeyed his call and flew towards the table.

"Milk flows like a stream, gently stirred, swirling clouds of flour, plastered with sugar, soft and fluffy butter, eggs bouncing joyfully, and warm love is poured into the little dough..."

Aberforth wore a smile, and the bread-making ingredients seemed like playful children, frolicking happily alongside his chanting.

"As the bread ripens, wishes drift with the smoke; in the magical flames, passion remains undiminished; within the willow grove's dream, a sweet aftertaste lingers; a grand feast invites all to join us..."

A flame appeared on the table, and the dough leaped into the fire, like a hippopotamus tumbling in the water, rolling and expanding, turning golden...
