Chapter 98 - [98] Sneaking into the Hog's Head

Thinking of this, Vizette bowed slightly and said, "Mr. Dumbledore, I'm more concerned about... what can I do here?"

"Alas…" Aberforth shook his head and sighed deeply, looking heartbroken. "The way you are now… reminds me of the great… Headmaster Dumbledore!"

"He was just like you when he was young. Meticulous, rigid...you were even better! What house were you sorted into? Gryffindor? Or Ravenclaw?"

"Ravenclaw," Vizette said.

"If it's Ravenclaw, then it's quite fitting…" Aberforth stroked his beard and sighed again.

"Since I've already agreed, you can stay! I hope it won't affect my bar business..."

"Thank you…" Dumbledore's eyes flashed, as if he had breathed a sigh of relief. "When do you need him to come? I'll give him a Hogsmeade Pass."

"I don't need that kind of thing!" Aberforth waved his hand dismissively, "Not being old enough is not being old enough!"

"Starting next week, he has to come here every Friday night… He can't use the Hogsmeade Pass; he has to find a way to get here himself!"

-------------------------------------

Regarding the question of the Soul Soothing Agent, Vizette specifically asked Quirinus Quirrell.

Once he was certain that the potion hadn't caused Quirinus Quirrell any trouble, he felt relieved and focused on his studies.

In addition to reviewing and reinforcing what they had learned in class, Vizette also assigned some extra tasks.

He had five notebooks on hand.

Two of the books were from Professor Quirinus Quirrell and Professor Snape's private lectures, two were Christmas gifts from Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall, and the last one was Grindelwald's notes.

The abundant resources he had were enough to allow him to make his life more fulfilling.

On Monday, he studied two private lecture notes; Tuesday night, he had Quidditch practice; on Wednesday, he studied Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall's notes; and on Thursday, he studied Grindelwald's notes.

As for Friday night, he needed to go to Hog's Head.

As for the first little test set up by Aberforth, Vizette had already learned from Fred and George about a secret passage leading into Hogsmeade.

After his flight lesson, he followed the route map given to him by Fred and George and turned into a secluded corridor on the third floor of the castle.

In the middle of the corridor stood a statue of a one-eyed witch, posing with her back to the corridor and looking back.

Vizette drew his wand and tapped the statue's hunchback. "Dissendium!"

With a series of soft "clicking" sounds, the statue's hunchback split in two, opening up a narrow passage that was completely dark inside.

Just to be on the safe side, Vizette snapped his fingers, turning them into Devil's Snare, before bending down and crawling into the narrow passage.

After a week of hard work, he had finally completed his first silent spell: Ancient Magic: Self-Shaping (Devil's Snare State)

However, the silent casting process was not stable enough, so he took a shortcut and used "snap his fingers" as the command to trigger the Devil's Snare.

Inside the narrow passage was a slide. After sliding for a long distance, Vizette stepped onto a patch of wet, cold mud.

With the help of the Devil's Snare, he carefully observed his surroundings and made his way through the new passage in the dark.

Vizette unfolded a map in his mind, absorbing the ancient magical power contained within each area that lit up.

The passageway meandered and twisted, resembling a tunnel dug by some giant rodent.

At the end of the tunnel, a steep stone staircase appeared, leading upwards and seemingly without end.

This long journey became slightly more interesting because it allowed one to absorb ancient magical power.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, Vizette finally reached the end of the stone steps, where there was a trapdoor.

Vizette used the Devil's Snare to scout the area, and only after confirming that no one was around did he finally push open the trapdoor.

Vizette let out a sigh of relief. "Just like Fred and the others said, this is the Honeydukes cellar."

He glanced back at the trapdoor, which was now closed and blended into the surrounding floor.

...

After some twists and turns, Vizette opened the back door of the Hog's Head, following the route he remembered.

He didn't go up to the hotel; he waited quietly in the lobby.

Not long after, Aberforth, covered in flour, appeared before him.

"It seems you haven't been corrupted by Albus. I thought you'd have to wait until next month to find a way to sneak here. How did you get here?"

This was the second time Vizette had met Aberforth, and it was clear that Aberforth and Dumbledore were like two sides of the same coin.

Dumbledore always kept himself neatly dressed, spoke politely, treated people with gentleness and friendliness, and often wore a kind smile.

Aberforth, on the other hand, was somewhat unkempt and spoke in a gruff voice. His eyebrows, similar to Dumbledore's, were raised high, giving him a rather fierce appearance.

"I learned about a secret passage from a friend," Vizette said.

"The fact that you're telling me about the secret passage means you trust your friends." Aberforth raised an eyebrow. "Much better than Albus. Come with me!"

The bar lobby was even darker than the Leaky Cauldron, and the air was thick with the smell of mutton. Chewing sounds kept coming from the direction of the bar, where a moving wild boar specimen was grinding its teeth.

Vizette had only taken a few steps when he noticed several menacing glances.

Most of the customers behind the bar were hidden in black robes, but their eyes seemed to glow, exuding a hint of sinister malice.

Several people, upon seeing that Vizette was a child, immediately took off their hoods, smoothed their messy hair, and grinned, revealing a mouthful of black and yellow teeth, hissing and laughing strangely.

Aberforth led Vizette into a side room, which was brighter with candles lit around it.

A long table covered in flour sat in the center, several bags of flour were piled up in the corner, and there were also ingredients such as sugar and butter on the shelves, making it look like a place for making bread.

"This is the Hog's Head. You can still leave now," Aberforth said. "Not only are the customers outside inferior to those at Hogwarts, but so am I!"

Vizette shook his head and asked loudly, "Mr. Dumbledore, what do I need to do?"

"Don't call me 'Mr. Dumbledore,'" Aberforth said solemnly. "Just call me Aberforth, and I'll call you Vizette, it's that simple."

"Yes, Aberforth."

"Hmm." Aberforth nodded, drew his wand and summoned two round stools, gesturing for Vizette to sit down.

He then took out a strange parchment scroll covered with densely packed, bizarre characters that together formed the symbol of an eye.

When Vizette looked at the parchment, the eyes on it suddenly opened and spoke in a voice that was neither male nor female: "Where is your home?"
