"Severus, I have no such intention. No two people in the world are exactly alike." Dumbledore smiled with interest.
"Just like two feathers from the same phoenix, as long as the staff and length are different, two different wands will be born."
"Another weapon?" Snape's face darkened. "Wands don't always submit completely. You know about 'wand backfire,' don't you?"
"Of course I know." Dumbledore sighed, his brow furrowed. "Back then, I had to face Grindelwald and neglected Voldemort, who was still studying here."
"Severus, I am not as energetic as before, and the situation I face is still severe. I need the help of others more than ever."
"Why do you always tell me these things?" Snape narrowed his eyes slightly. "Just because I gave him extra points?"
"He's different from Voldemort; he's willing to appreciate the beauty around him." Dumbledore gently shook his head. "You should have noticed his uniqueness, shouldn't you?"
"It's just a little bit of cleverness." Snape didn't deny it, and sat down in front of Dumbledore. "His eyes can see through appearances to the essence of things."
"I knew it… No wonder!" Dumbledore nodded, his brows relaxing. "I'm not just telling you this, I also asked Minerva and the others for help."
"You don't need to do anything special. Just provide appropriate guidance so that he stays on the right path. I believe in his character and that he will make the right choices."
"Minerva and the others? Heh..." Snape crossed his arms, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Including Professor Quirrell? I don't need to tell you how important Defense Against the Dark Arts is, do I?"
"He…" Dumbledore's expression turned pained. "This is what I wanted to tell you: please keep an eye on Quirrell, okay?"
"It really was him!" Snape's eyes sharpened instantly. "Then why did you let him participate in the fourth-floor challenge?"
"I'm luring you into a trap, Severus," Dumbledore said. "At least for now, Quirrell seems to be acting alone, and I want to draw out the man behind him."
"And what about Harry Potter?" Snape pressed. "What would happen to Harry Potter if he actually appeared?"
Dumbledore crossed his arms and circled his thumbs together. "If my judgment ten years ago was correct, I should be out of danger."
"A judgment made ten years ago?" Snape took a deep breath. "Because of that judgment, he stayed by the side of two stupid Muggles for a full ten years!"
"Now you're so nonchalant about it, saying he needs to face Quirrell, or even the Dark Lord? And you say there 'shouldn't' be any danger to his life?"
"It is precisely because I need to keep an eye on Harry that I cannot afford to be distracted," Dumbledore sighed again. "Vizette is in your hands."
"I hope you remember what you said." Snape stood up, gathered his robes, and quickly left the headmaster's office.
-------------------------------------
On weekends, Vizette's life was just as fulfilling.
After mailing the letter in the morning, he arrived at the Great Hall and several of his roommates surrounded him.
"Good morning, Vizette!" Chris handed him a glass of pumpkin juice. "I saw you doing your homework last night. Have you finished it?"
"Thank you." Vizette took the pumpkin juice. "It's almost done. I'm looking for some information to enrich the paper on turning a match into a needle."
"How much did you write?" Chris continued. "Didn't you write enough?"
"The length is already written," Vizette said. "Professor McGonagall has given me some extra information, so I'd like to add some content about the Animagus."
Terry immediately suggested, "How about we go to the library after you finish eating? My paper for Transfiguration class... I haven't written enough."
Anthony followed up: "And there's the Potions class homework, the material properties of the boil treatment solution, I feel like I missed something."
Michael nodded in agreement, saying, "I haven't finished looking for that either. I haven't written the entire 'One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi,' and I've written a little less than Anthony."
The unpleasant incident during flying class didn't last long; he and Anthony made up and started discussing assignments together again.
Looking at the buttered bread, cured meat, and roasted ham they handed him, Vizette asked with a half-smile, "Did you plan this all along?"
His roommates laughed sheepishly.
Terry said, "We only need a little more content. Once it's finished, we can go out and play!"
Michael shrugged. "There's a Quidditch selection this afternoon. Anthony and I are planning to go check it out."
"Once the homework is finished, there's no more burden," Anthony added.
"Oh yeah… the Quidditch selection this afternoon." Vizette recalled that Cho Chang had mentioned it to him last night.
Cho Chang planned to participate in the selection process to see if she had a chance to join the Ravenclaw team, and she also invited him to come and cheer her on.
With his roommates looking on expectantly, Vizette nodded in agreement.
It was the first weekend of the new semester, and there weren't many students at the library.
Most people who came here were in groups of three or five. They either gathered in front of the shelves to look for information or sat in the rest area and discussed quietly.
"That looks like a Gryffindor, that's really rare." Michael looked towards the far corner of the rest area.
Hermione sat there alone, her fluffy brown hair covering her cheeks, seemingly doing her homework.
Ravenclaw had its own library, but the collection was incomplete, and some materials still needed to be found in the main library.
Vizette wasn't surprised; he often saw Hermione here, always alone.
He whispered to his roommates, "Regarding the Potions homework, look for the seventh issue of 'Practical Potions Master' from 1986. It contains relevant content, published by Professor Snape."
"There's also the second issue of 'Transfiguration Today' from 1895, which contains a paper on turning a match into a needle, written by Headmaster Dumbledore. I also used these two magazines to complete my assignment."
"Amazing!" His roommates all gave him a thumbs up. "You've actually seen so much."
Vizette smiled and waved his hand, "It's all thanks to Mrs. Pince that I discovered how interesting magic magazines are."
Irma Pince was the librarian at Hogwarts. As long as you didn't break the library's rules, she was a fairly kind lady.
Despite her taciturn nature, she had an astonishing reading capacity, and Vizette could always get the whereabouts of the books he wanted from her.
The roommates gathered in the periodical section looking for magazines, and Vizette approached Mrs. Pince. "Mrs. Pince, may I ask where I can look for a book about 'Animagus'?"
"At your age…" Mrs. Pince looked Vizette up and down, "there could be danger in contact with 'Animagus'."
