Forest of Death trembled.
Trees uprooted and ground liquefied as massive volume of sand expanded outward. A monstrous roar echoed for miles silencing birds and beasts alike.
In center of clearing stood a titan.
It was a colossal tanuki made of sand with black curse markings covering its body. Shukaku One Tail had fully emerged.
"I am free!" Shukaku screamed his voice booming like thunder. "Finally! I am going to kill everything!"
Naruto Uzumaki stared up at beast holding unconscious Sakura. His legs felt like jelly.
"It is huge..." Naruto whispered. "How do we fight that?"
"With bigger guns" Uehara Naraku shouted over wind.
Uehara stood on a high branch looking at massive target. He wasn't scared. He was calculating.
"Target size is massive" Uehara analyzed. "Hit rate will be 100 percent. It is basically a target dummy."
Shukaku looked down seeing tiny humans.
"Ants!" Shukaku inhaled deeply. His stomach expanded. "Wind Style: Drilling Air Bullet!"
He slapped his belly firing a compressed ball of air size of a house. It tore through forest vaporizing everything in its path.
"Run!" Sasuke yelled trying to drag his body away.
"No time to run!" Naruto realized. He bit his thumb. "I need Chief Toad! Summoning Jutsu!"
Naruto slammed his hand on ground channeling red chakra.
POOF.
A massive cloud of smoke exploded blocking Air Bullet.
"Hey! Watch where you are pointing that thing!" a gruff voice grumbled from smoke.
Smoke cleared revealing a giant red toad smoking a pipe and wielding a massive dosu blade. Gamabunta Boss Toad of Mount Myoboku had arrived.
Air Bullet had struck Gamabunta's side but thick skin held.
"Chief Toad!" Naruto cheered jumping on top of toad's head. "You came!"
"Of course I came" Gamabunta puffed smoke. "You summoned me kid. But why are we facing a Tailed Beast? This is not in my contract."
"Please Chief!" Naruto begged. "He is going to destroy everything! Help me beat him!"
Gamabunta looked at Shukaku.
"That raccoon is crazy" Gamabunta noted. "Fighting him is a pain. What is in it for me?"
"I will buy you sake!" Naruto promised. "Premium sake!"
"And I will cover the tab" Uehara's voice came from below.
Gamabunta looked down.
"Who is the purple ant?"
"A friend" Uehara shouted. "Just keep him busy Chief! I will provide fire support!"
"Wind Style: Drilling Air Bullet!" Shukaku fired again.
Gamabunta drew his sword. "Hold on kid!"
Giant toad leaped into air dodging wind blast. He landed with earth shaking thud slicing at Shukaku's arm.
SLASH.
Sand arm was severed but it reformed instantly.
"Sand regenerates!" Naruto panicked.
"It is annoying" Gamabunta grunted. "We need to wake up the medium. That kid on top of its head!"
Uehara saw it too. Gaara's upper body was protruding from Shukaku's forehead. He was asleep letting beast take control.
"Wake him up" Uehara muttered. "Sounds easy. But getting close is hard."
He raised Void Staff.
"Let's slow him down."
Uehara activated Rylai's Crystal Scepter. He began to rapid fire cards.
Swish Swish Swish.
Wild Cards flew through air. They grew in size fueled by massive chakra Uehara was pouring in. Three giant spectral cards slammed into Shukaku's chest.
BOOM.
Magic damage blew a hole in sand body. More importantly frost effect took hold.
Shukaku roared in confusion.
"Why is it cold?! Why are my legs heavy?!"
"Now!" Uehara shouted. "Chief Toad! He is slowed!"
"Good job ant!" Gamabunta capitalized on opening.
Toad lunged forward clamping his jaws onto Shukaku's shoulder.
"Water Style: Gunshot!"
Gamabunta fired a water bullet point blank into Shukaku's face destabilizing sand.
"Naruto!" Gamabunta yelled. "Go wake him up! I can't hold him forever!"
Naruto ran down Gamabunta's nose jumping towards sleeping Gaara.
"Wake up!" Naruto wound up a punch.
But sand reacted automatically. A wall of hard sand rose up to block Naruto.
"Damn it!" Naruto grit teeth.
PING.
A Gold Card hit sand wall.
Stun effect didn't freeze entire beast but it froze that specific section of sand for two seconds. Wall stopped moving leaving a gap.
"Thanks Uehara!" Naruto dove through gap.
He reached Gaara.
"Wake up you idiot!"
Naruto delivered a headbutt. A massive skull cracking headbutt fueled by Nine Tails chakra.
CRACK.
Gaara's head snapped back. His eyes flew open.
"Urgh..." Gaara gasped waking from his trance.
With medium awake Shukaku's control faltered. Giant sand body began to crumble.
"No!" Shukaku screamed as he was pulled back into seal. "I was having fun! I curse you humans!"
Giant tanuki collapsed turning into a mountain of harmless sand.
Gamabunta landed safely depositing Naruto and Gaara on ground.
"Mission complete" Gamabunta sheathed his sword. "Don't forget my sake."
POOF.
Toad vanished.
In wreckage of forest Naruto and Gaara lay exhausted on ground staring at sky.
"Why..." Gaara whispered tears leaking from his eyes. "Why are you so strong? Why do you fight for others?"
"Because..." Naruto panted. "Because they saved me from being alone. And I won't let you hurt them."
It was a touching moment. A moment of redemption.
Uehara landed on a tree stump nearby. He checked his system log.
[Main Mission Complete: Defeat the One Tail Jinchuriki.]
[Reward: 2000 Gold Coins.]
[Hidden Mission: Assist in Tailed Beast Subjugation.]
[Reward: Random Item - Needlessly Large Rod.]
[Needlessly Large Rod]
[Stats: +60 Ability Power.]
"2000 Gold plus a Rod" Uehara smirked. "Worth every second."
He looked at Gaara. Sand ninja was broken physically and mentally. Talk No Jutsu had defeated him.
"Well done Naruto" Uehara said softly.
He turned to look towards village. Smoke was rising from center.
"Now for main event" Uehara's expression hardened. "Orochimaru versus Hokage. I wonder if I can loot a Kage?"
He activated Sorcerer's Shoes.
"Stay alive kids. I have a funeral to attend."
Uehara vanished speeding towards burning village.
