Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: The report that should never have existed

POV: Aurora

Lina left hours ago, but her words still sting: "Don't lose yourself to stay with him."

The best way I know to not lose myself is to work, so that's what I do. I open Umbra, take a deep breath, and order my brain to focus on something other than Dante's hands adjusting the bandages on my wrists.

I want to put together a test report. Nothing official, just a "demo" to see how the dashboards look. A trial run.

Lie. None of this is a trial run.

I choose three regions, load the foundation's "angelic" projects and the soft labels: "relocated," "referred," "special transfer." Umbra draws the map itself. The dots light up in red and orange, like a rash no one wants to look at.

I add layers. Financiers, start dates, Seraphim lines. Then the filter that shouldn't exist: the "high compatibility" label I found hidden in an old database. When I apply it, many dots disappear. The ones that remain turn a darker red, almost black.
