Chapter 6 - This is Stelle, My daughter

"Listen to me...."

A gentle and light voice echoed in my mind.

It was Kafka's voice.... Kafka..... Who was she again....?

Stelle still remembers that name, but only the name.

Other than that, it's chaotic and blurry.

The voice was as gentle as a mother's soft singing, Stelle's heart gradually calmed down, as if floating on a gentle river

She started to hear loud voices, so Stelle used all her strength to get out of the river and open her eyes.

The light started to pour into her eyes and her vision started to clear up.

Then, She saw a grey haired young man with a great sense of déjà vu and familiarity, looking at her affectionately, roaring with all his might.

"Re~vive~ my~lo~ve~!!!"

"???"

What is happening?

What is happening??

What is happening???

Stelle blinked her golden eyes and tried to be calm to understand the situation.

Can't understand....Unable to comprehend....Brain is failing.

Seeing Stelle blinking cutely, The shock of the dead coming back to life filled up march's brain, followed up by horror.

"AHHH"

"Zombie! Zombie!"

"Dan Heng! Go get the salt!"

The pinked haired girls cheeks were flushed with panic.

"Calm down, March"

Having calmed down from the words from earlier, Dan Heng carefully observed Stelle's breathing.

Only then did he realize something.

"She didn't die at all"

Dan Heng frowned, looking at Caelus's pupils deepening.

"Not dead?"

Looking at Stelle, who was in a state of confusion, March 7th blinked

[Host, don't do it, these people are stupid in the first place, and you can still tease others.]

The system couldn't stand it anymore

Feeling like the face under the mask was smiling crazy, the system felt like they should stop him.

[I'll buy some milk tea to apologize to her later]

March 7th finally reacted with hindsight, holding the strange baseball bat tightly, and her hands were clenched until they turned white.

The pretty face showed an unusually kind smile, March 7th gently tapped the bat on his shoulder.

"You mind explaining what's happening to me?"

The crisp and pleasant voice started to have a slight chill in it.

If this guy doesn't give a valid reason right now, then she'll have to beat this guy up.

In the face of March's threat, Caelus didn't panic at all and said very calmly.

"I didn't say she was dead, did I?"

March 7th growled, glaring at him.

"Reviving equals dead, doesn't it?"

He shrugged his shoulders, not confirming nor denying.

"You...you...you..."

Gritting her teeth, March 7th began to studder angrily, but she couldn't come up with a rebuttal.

So she casted her gaze to her friend, who was beside her.

So Dan Heng, who understood her gaze, nodded slightly, took a step forward and looked at Caelus expressionlessly.

"Who are you? And why are you here?"

Hearing Dan Heng's question, March 7th looked startled again, weren't these two researchers from the Herta Space Station?

Dan Heng didn't answer March 7th's question. He had noticed it much earlier—the rescue coordinates for these two hadn't been sent by the space station.

"Apologies, I forgot to introduce myself." A hint of apology appeared on Caelus's face.

"My name is Caelus."

After formally answering Dan Heng's question, Caelus pointed to the gray-haired girl standing behind him, who was scratching the back of her head in a daze, and introduced her seriously:

"This is Stelle, my daughter."

March 7th: "!!!"

Stelle: "???"

Dan Heng: "..."

"Pfft!"

The bubblegum Silver Wolf was blowing from her hiding spot splattered all over her face.

Kafka: "..."

According to the original script, the two of them were supposed to leave after implanting the Stellaron into the vessel.

But after the accident Elio had mentioned occurred, they thought they might as well observe the situation a little longer.

Besides, the script never said they couldn't linger.

Thus, using Silver Wolf's Aether Editing and conveniently found the Curio, Number 211, "Blind Spot of Vision," so they concealed themselves here.

They planned to observe Stelle and the gray-haired young man for a bit before leaving.

The "revive, my love" line had almost given Silver Wolf an internal injury from holding back her laughter, and now she couldn't hold it in at all.

A single sentence had once again silenced everyone. The entire Curio room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

"D-Daughter!?"

March 7th's expression became one of extreme horror, and the finger she pointed at Stelle began to tremble.

"Isn't she your lover?"

Logically speaking, love between siblings, even with its taboo nature, was something March 7th could barely accept. The galaxy was vast, and as a well-traveled Nameless, she had seen it all. But father and daughter...

"Sigh~"

Just as her thoughts were running wild, March 7th suddenly heard Dan Heng let out a helpless sigh.

She immediately snapped back to reality and viciously grabbed Caelus by the collar. "You're messing with me again?"

"No, I'm telling the truth. Who made the rule that a daughter and a lover can't be the same person? You can ask her if you don't believe me."

Being stared at by March 7th's fiercely cute glare, Caelus would have lost his composure long ago if not for the mask.

But with the mask on, he could maintain his calm demeanor; at the very least, his face wouldn't betray his true emotions.

Not only that, but Caelus's face suddenly took on a weathered look, each trace of vicissitude telling a story of time.

Seeing Caelus so self-righteous, even Dan Heng could no longer remain composed. He widened his eyes in a rare show of surprise, looking at Stelle in disbelief.

This...!?

Being stared at by the two of them with gazes so complex that not even a pie chart could express them, and with the two lines "This is Stelle, my daughter" and "Isn't she your lover?" piercing through her skull, Stelle almost blacked out and collapsed again.

Her scalp tingled. A tremendous shockwave shot through her consciousness, turning her already chaotic mind into a complete blank.

The key was...

She didn't know!

She really didn't know!

She couldn't remember anything right now!

She had only remembered the name "Stelle" after hearing Caelus mention it.

Without even needing to consciously sense it, she felt an undeniable sense of intimacy and familiarity from Caelus. Was this what they called a blood connection?

Even setting aside intuition and thinking rationally...

Their identical gray hair and golden eyes—if you grabbed a random person off the street, they would insist the two were related!

Even if you grabbed a blind person.

Her mind trembled. Stelle tried to sort through the chaos in her brain, attempting to find the slightest clue.

Hey!

She actually managed to recall a bit of forgotten common knowledge.

The cosmos was filled with countless species, among them long-life species with extraordinary lifespans. Some of these long-life species looked like teenagers even when they were hundreds of years old.

If a long-life father and daughter stood together, they really would look like siblings!

The more she thought, the darker her vision became.

Was Caelus... really her father?

And a father with *that* kind of taboo relationship?

Seeing Stelle trembling all over, nervous, sweating profusely, and remaining silent, a tempestuous storm raged in March 7th's and Dan Heng's hearts.

Was what Caelus said... true?

Stelle's reaction made them think she was tacitly admitting it.

Two sharp gasps were heard. The way March 7th and Dan Heng looked at Caelus underwent a qualitative change.

Their gazes were like one would look upon the rising sun in the east, or the evening glow of a verdant star.

Especially since Caelus had been so frank and open when speaking of their relationship, as if he saw nothing wrong with it, acting completely self-righteous and a matter-of-fact.

"Are you... really my dad?"

Stelle finally gave in to her inner turmoil and asked the question.

March 7th's and Dan Heng's astonished gazes shifted back to her.

"I... I don't remember anything," Stelle said, pressing a hand to her forehead and looking down.

"...Amnesia?" March 7th was all too familiar with this situation.

Dan Heng turned to look at Caelus.

"We were attacked by the Antimatter Legion. Stelle might have injured her head. In fact, after taking a direct hit from an energy cannon, I've also forgotten many things."

Caelus pressed a hand to his own forehead, feigning dizziness, and looked at Stelle's face with utter sincerity.

"But her... I would never forget her, no matter what!"

Dan Heng's brow twitched.

"Stelle!"

His voice trembled, filled with gentleness, worry, and an unwavering love.

"Do you really not remember your father?"

Caelus placed his hands on Stelle's shoulders, picked up a stray lock of her gray hair, their two pairs of brilliant golden eyes meeting.

"Look at this. It's a pity. I would have preferred you inherit your mother's beautiful purple hair over my hair and eye color."

"Mom... purple hair... Kafka..."

The keywords triggered Stelle's memory, reminding her of something from not long ago.

The way Kafka had looked at her, gentle and doting, like a mother gazing tenderly at her child.

"Kafka... Mom. Caelus... Dad..."

Stelle clutched her head, which was flashing with countless blurry and chaotic memories, and muttered to herself.

"Cough, cough, cough!"

The bubblegum she had licked back into her mouth was swallowed this time. Silver Wolf's expression-management module completely crashed, and she looked as if she had seen a ghost.

She raised a hand and poked the beautiful, purple-haired woman beside her, who wore a gentle smile. "Hey, Kafka, what's the deal with this guy?"

"...I don't know."

Her super expression management allowed Kafka to keep her composure, but her mind was anything but as calm as her face.

Was this "Stelle's" brain broken?

What was with this personality?

Kafka had a feeling that the "cub" before her was actually a Masked Fool in disguise.

Silver Wolf had confidently assured her before that a male Stelle was still Stelle.

Kafka naturally trusted her teammate.

But why would he call himself Caelus?

A split in Stelle's consciousness?

Or something else?

Kafka fell into deep thought.

[Dude, you're tricking a one-year-old. Have some decency!]

The system complained again.

[Tricking myself isn't tricking, It's a high-level state of elation, you wouldn't understand.]

Beneath the mask, the joyful curve of Caelus's lips nearly reached his ears.

Hearing Stelle's muttering, March 7th and Dan Heng's suspicions began to fade, and they started to accept this reality.

March 7th gritted her teeth. Seeing Caelus let go of Stelle, she finally couldn't hold back her emotions any longer.

Her initial anger at being tricked by Caelus, combined with her disdain for his perverted actions toward his own daughter, made her raise her baseball bat high.

"You bastard!"

Not completely blinded by rage, March 7th held back. She just wanted to teach this guy a lesson.

The bat swung down, striking Caelus's shoulder.

"Ah!"

A cry of pain rang out, but it stunned everyone.

The person who screamed was not Caelus. Although he was currently clutching the spot where the bat had hit him in pain, the one who had cried out was Stelle, who was standing beside him.

"Hiss~ That hurts!"

A sudden pain shot from her shoulder, making Stelle cry out instinctively.

Then, seeing the scene of March 7th hitting Caelus's shoulder with the bat, she looked down at her own shoulder. Her face was filled with the shock of a newborn baby witnessing the physical laws of the world for the first time.

The dazed look in her clear eyes was gradually replaced by world-shattering wisdom. March 7th's brow furrowed, and she shot a sharp glare at Caelus.

Dan Heng also cast a meaningful gaze at Caelus.

Caelus: "..."

Caelus: "???"
