POV: Iris Hartwell
She found him in his office at 9 PM.
Iris entered without knocking, without announcing herself, without allowing him the courtesy of preparation. She closed the door behind her and locked it. This conversation couldn't be interrupted. This conversation had to end something,either the marriage or the uncertainty, but one of them had to break.
"I know about the surveillance report," she said.
Julian looked up from his desk. Set down whatever he'd been reading. His expression didn't change.
"I know you're monitoring my movements. I know you documented every time I accessed your files, broke into your drawers, photographed your communications. I know you've been watching me investigate you while you refuse to explain what any of it means."
He didn't respond. Just waited.
