While Kael's party members gathered around him, the demon queen grew tired of their presence in her country, and with a snap of her fingers, everyone was sent to a forest a few days away from Oakhaven City, where Kael and his group had begun their quest. Because they were fatigued from their skirmishes at Erosia's fortress, they decided to set up camp and discuss what had happened later in the morning.
The morning sun shines through the trees in the forest. Kael is sitting on a log, head in his hands. The rest of the party is staring at him.Elara decides to break the ice on their current situation.
ELARA (Bard and talented archer, she's essentially the team's HR department): "So, let me clarify. "You did not kill the Demon Queen."
KAEL: (in a muffled voice) "Negative."
VAREN (The Alchemist, a half-senile old man who curiously understands what he's doing): "Negative? What do you mean by Negative? I spent three weeks preparing liquid fire for the siege! Do you know how much a newt eye costs in this economy? " "It is extortion!"
ELARA: "Calm down old man V let's get things straightened first."
KAEL: "Sigh"
ELARA: yes, "alright back to you Kael, why you did ask a goblin if she liked long walks on the beach?"
KAEL: (raises his head, face burning red) "It was a tactical error! The HUD highlighted her! It offered me dialogue alternatives! I had three options: 'Flirt', 'Seduce', or 'Propose Marriage'!"
IGNIS: "Analysis: Commander Kaelen has a Class 5 Logic Virus." Recommendation: Reboot with blunt force trauma.
KAEL responded: "Do not hit me, Ignis. That is an order."
VAREN: "Virus my ass, he has been serverly cursed by that damn demon queen" BROTHER OAT (the fairly gorgeous monk who has taken a vow of silence and chastity but females still seek him, so he occasionally hides behind Ignis like a bodyguard): (Sits peacefully in lotus position, roasting a yam). He holds up a banner saying, "WE ACCEPT YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE."
KAEL: "I do not want acceptance, Oat! I want to kill stuff! I want to be a weapon of mass destruction rather than a... lover!"
RODERICK (secondary powerhouse of the team and Kael's right hand man): "HAHAHA by the Gods Kael is being forced to do things he can't physically or emotionally do, I guess that's a form of punishment in its own right."
While sir Roderick was laughing at Kael, Kael's armour started rattling and his other members noticed and took guard wary of another of the demon queen's antics but they noticed a small creature's ear popping out from Kael's shoulder. It comes out of the armour and lo it was a pinkish peach chubby bat like creature with big cute eyes and wings that looks a little small for it's body. Everybody comes closer to investigate but instead then are mesmerized by how cute it is.
PUD: (landing on Kaelen's knee. (Points a small wing at Elara.) Squeak?
KAEL: (His gaze moves to Elara. The pink HUD flickers).uh Elara!?
ELARA: (Immediately raises a frying pan in front of her face) "What is it now, and why are you giving me that look?" Did I fall under your curse's target? Is there a criterion? Kaelen, back off!"
KAEL: (Squinting, fighting the desire) "The criteria is 'Feisty Shortstacks'. You are... surprisingly close to the height limit, Elara."
ELARA: "I'm normal height! This is defamation! Ignis, take the bucket!"
IGNIS: "retrieving The Bucket of Sobriety."
Ignis grabs a bucket of cold water with ice cubes that brother oat uses for some form of cold temperature training.
KAEL: "Wait! No! I'm in control! I'm—"
(SPLASH)
(Kael sits there, dripping wet, a piece of ice sliding off his nose.)
KAEL: "I hate this team."
ELARA: (scribbling furiously in her notebook)" if we get to town we have to figure out this curse".
Their noise seemed to have attracted a wild big boar and Kael decides to use that as warm up training. "Guys I'm taking care of this boar, Ignis back me up" Kael shouts but as he takes up his sword he finds it strangely heavier than usual. Then he swings his sword but didn't harm the boar instead the boar sends him flying in to a nearby pond. Everybody was shocked as boars were fairly easy for someone of Kael's caliber. The boar prepared for it's second charge but Ignis easily subjugated the boar.
ELARA: "Kael what happened?"
KAEL: "I don't know." ( His curse HUD pop out showing a red display:-
[ Failed today's task]
[ PENALTY - 80% Strength DEBUFF]
KAEL: "seems like I got weakened by the curse."
ELARA: "oh great the demon queen gave you an extra gift, just great."
