After breakfast, Aria set out for her usual "walk"...something she'd established as a regular habit over the past two weeks. Fresh air. Exercise. Perfectly normal behavior that wouldn't raise suspicions.
She started on the main paths, the ones open to everyone. But gradually, carefully, she worked her way east. Toward the restricted areas.
The grounds were massive...easily fifty acres of manicured gardens, walking paths, and wooded areas. Beautiful in a way that made her chest ache. All this wealth, all this beauty, and somewhere within it was the one thing that could save her mother's life.
She reached the edge of the eastern section and paused. A subtle line of sensors marked the boundary...nothing obvious, but she'd trained herself to recognize the telltale signs. Small cameras mounted in trees. Motion detectors disguised as garden lights.
Beyond it, through the trees, she could just make out the edge of a large glass structure. The greenhouse.
