He tested it with the demon Nobutsuchi, whom he had fought before. Previously, he had barely managed to pull the massive Wild Hammer from the ground using all his strength. Now, he could probably lift the fifteen-meter-long weapon with a single hand. A punch from this new power wouldn't split oceans or mountains… yet—but it could easily cleave through the earth itself.
Yuuto's combined techniques—Wind, Forest, Fire, Mountain infused with the Demon Breathing Technique—were already A+, and paired with Advanced Swordsmanship, it had become his deadliest skill. Later, an event among the Countermeasures Team boosted him back over 1,100 human points. Now, with the completion of the first stage of the "Lord of Yokai" quest, he had gained an additional 1,000 yokai reputation points.
In total, Yuuto now had 1,100 human reputation points and 1,000 yokai reputation points.
But looking at the small group of demons he had taken in, Yuuto couldn't help feeling embarrassed. His subordinates were laughably weak.
The Hyakki Yagyō, the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons, was essentially a gang war among yokai. Numbers mattered, but so did quality. The two-tailed cat-eared girl standing before him had been among the first to follow him. Thanks to the demonic energy crystals, ordinary cat demons had evolved into elite guardians, fiercely loyal to Yuuto.
This investment paid off immediately. The minor demons, once weak and skeptical of his intentions, now worshiped him entirely. Any action that enhanced their demonic power was considered miraculous. They had struggled for survival, often hunted or bullied by stronger demons. Yet Yuuto had accepted them, protected them, and even provided tools to strengthen them.
The loyalty of these little demons skyrocketed. Even the cat demons—now among his most devoted followers—would obey any order without question. They would follow him into battle or carry out dangerous missions without hesitation. In less than half a month, Yuuto had forged bonds that other powerful demon lords had taken years, if not decades, to achieve.
Offering aid when it was most needed had earned him their undying loyalty. The principle was simple: give strength, and they would give their allegiance in return.
Currently, Yuuto commanded eight hundred demons, spanning over thirty species. Their strength was still modest, even after consuming large quantities of inferior demonic energy crystals:
500 were D-rank minor demons
Over 200 were C-rank low-level demons
Fewer than 10 reached C+ rank
The cat-eared girl facing Yuuto possessed C+ level power, her superior lineage giving her a strength far beyond other C+ demons.
Yet, even with this growth, the Oni-Touin were incomparable to the Nura Clan's Hyakki Yagyō. For instance, Aotabo, one of the Nura Clan's elite, possessed at least B- level demonic power. While he wasn't numerous, he was far from rare.
By comparison, aside from Yuuto himself, Oni-Touin didn't even have a single B-level fighter. In terms of both quality and quantity, the Nura Clan's forces still vastly outmatched his fledgling army.
