One More Dare and I'm Yours
It started with Yuki.
Like all bad ideas do.
She threw her phone in the center of the circle and smirked. "Truth or Dare. Section E edition. No backing out. No whining."
Jay groaned. "Are we five?"
"No," Yuki said, "we're unhinged teenagers with tension to burn."
The whole group had gathered in an abandoned classroom after the Masquerade — still hyped, half-dressed down, glowing with leftover chaos. Someone had ordered milk tea. Someone else (probably Rei) brought snacks and bad intentions.
Jay sat beside Keifer.
Not touching.
Not looking.
But every part of her buzzed from being near him.
His hand grazed her knee once and it felt like a full-body kiss.
First round: harmless.
"Truth, Rei — have you ever flirted with a teacher?"
"Define flirted."
"Dare, Yuki — text your ex you miss him."
"I'd rather eat glue."
"Truth, Ezra — how many girls have you kissed?"
"Does the spin-the-bottle game in seventh grade count?"
Laughter. Chaos. More boba.
Then someone said:
"Jay."
Jay looked up. "Truth."
Rei grinned. "When did you realize you actually liked Keifer?"
Keifer's head turned instantly.
Jay's ears burned. "Next question."
"Nope," Yuki smirked. "Answer."
Jay hesitated.
Then: "The night I got kidnapped. When I woke up and he was sitting beside me like the world ended."
Silence.
Keifer didn't speak.
But his hand reached for hers under the table.
And she let him.
Next round.
"Keifer. Truth or Dare."
He smirked. "Dare."
Yuki's eyes sparkled. "I dare you to kiss Jay."
Everyone gasped.
Jay blinked. "We're literally dating—"
Yuki grinned wider. "Exactly. But this time, kiss her like it's the last time you'll ever get to."
Jay's heart stopped.
Keifer turned to her.
And without saying a word, cupped her face.
No teasing. No smirk. Just full eye contact and intent.
Then he kissed her.
And everything else disappeared.
It was slow. Deep. Unforgiving.
The kind of kiss that shatters your pride and brands your soul.
When he pulled away, Jay was breathless.
Yuki whispered, "Okay damn."
Game continued. But nothing felt real after that.
Until…
"Jay," Rei said again, far too amused.
Jay raised a brow. " dare.Hit me."
"I dare you to sit on Keifer's lap for the rest of the game."
The room exploded.
Jay went still.
Keifer looked at her like he was begging her to do it and begging her not to at the same time.
She moved.
Straddled his lap slowly.
Faced him.
Hands resting on his shoulders like it was no big deal.
But it was.
He inhaled sharp and low. "You're playing with fire."
She smiled, lips inches from his. "I thought you liked being burned."
Everyone else kept playing.
Jay couldn't focus.
Not when his hands were low on her waist, fingers tightening every time she shifted.
Not when his eyes dropped to her lips every three seconds.
Not when her whole body was screaming, one more dare. Just one more and we'll both break.
The game ended.
People left.
But Keifer didn't let her off his lap.
He looked at her like she was the only thing keeping him alive.
"I meant what I said," he whispered. "If that kiss was the last one I ever got… I'd still be lucky."
Jay leaned in, brushing her lips over his again.
"This isn't the last one," she whispered back.
Then kissed him again like she promised.
