Chapter 141 - Chapter 141: We Can't Go

Chapter 141: We Can't Go

Little Black looked at Big Black, who was eager to fight, with an expressionless face.

Big Black waved his fists in mid-air and said, "Don't get beaten down by me, you foolish Little Black."

"Next time, I should suggest that Master modifies your brain," Little Black thought to himself that the enhancement given to Big Black was applied to the wrong area; he should have asked for an intelligence boost.

"You're clearly scared," Big Black said, holding up three fingers. "How about this, I'll let you have three moves."

"No need." The moment Little Black's voice fell, the battlesuit on the table flew out and adhered to Little Black's body.

"..." Big Black scrutinized Little Black from top to bottom. "I think we should duel in the way of ninjas, don't you agree?"

"No," Little Black refused without hesitation.

"Hmph!" Big Black suddenly waved his hand with a righteous air. "I refuse to associate with the likes of you! You are unworthy to be a ninja! Have you forgotten! We are Shadowkhan Ninjas!"

"..." Little Black fell silent. The battlesuit on his body began to disintegrate, all of it returning to the experimental bench.

"That's the Little Black I know. That's the Shadowkhan army! Come on! I'll still let you have three moves!" Big Black, seeing that Little Black had "seen the light," adopted a fighting stance.

Boom! Suddenly, a missile launched, and Big Black was instantly obliterated into black smoke, waiting to be resurrected.

"The missile power is decent, but unfortunately, it's still not enough," Little Black muttered, slightly annoyed. The power was less than expected. After hearing Big Black's heartfelt words, Little Black decided to give Big Black a chance to be useful by testing the power of the new missile.

"I should add something more..." Little Black thought, rubbing his chin.

Morning at School

"Teacher Cullen didn't come in again today," Peter whispered, leaning close to Silas.

Silas nodded in response. Yesterday, Cullen clearly had an unmentionable secret that prevented him from speaking. His absence from school today must mean something happened. However, at this time, Silas was still relatively calm, as Cullen had appeared in his human form this morning, which prevented any panic.

"Could something have happened?" Peter couldn't help but think that Cullen had sought their help yesterday, so something must have occurred.

"Don't overthink it, Peter. You can only fret right now. Let's wait and see. I'm sure Teacher Cullen will be fine," Silas's priority was to calm down Peter, the little Spider-Man. He was worried Peter might get too emotional, take leave during class, and go looking for clues about Cullen while wearing his Spider suit.

Silas suspected that the person threatening Cullen was located around the school, monitoring it. It was no secret in Clinton that Spider-Man, Destiny (Silas's nickname), and the Big Bug (Cullen/Lizard Man) were friends. Basically, everyone knew about their relationship. Since the person behind Cullen knew that Cullen was the Big Bug, they would certainly suspect whether Spider-Man and Destiny might also be at this school, possibly even colleagues. Therefore, Silas and Peter absolutely could not expose themselves, nor could they get too close to Cullen. This was also why Cullen rushed them away yesterday.

"I don't know why, Silas, but I have a bad feeling that something is about to happen," Peter voiced his apprehension.

Silas's gaze became serious. "No, Peter, that feeling might be real." At that moment, Silas also felt his Spider-Sense flaring intensely in his mind, constantly warning him that something major was about to happen.

"I hope the situation isn't too bad," Silas thought, feeling he might have already guessed what was coming.

Suddenly! A roar echoed from outside the window: "Where are Spider-Man and Destiny! Get out here!"

The school announcement immediately followed: "Dear students, the school is currently experiencing an emergency. Unidentified personnel have entered the campus. Teachers, please guide students to evacuate in an orderly manner."

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

"The school is closed again! Let's cheer!" a few gleeful students shouted.

Peter and Silas exchanged a look—something big had happened!

Silas lowered his head, his expression dark. Things were indeed developing in a bad direction.

"Silas, we need to hurry!" Peter grabbed his backpack, ready to pull Silas away to change clothes.

Silas suddenly said, "Yes, Peter, let's hurry and run." He then turned and said, "Misty, grab my hand."

Misty immediately hugged Silas's arm. "Silas, I'm scared!" The previous explosion incident had clearly left her traumatized.

"Me too, Peter." Ned also hid behind Peter in fear. Although he knew this made him seem cowardly, the previous building collapse had left a deep impression on him.

Silas gave Peter a look that said: See, they need us.

"Silas, you take Misty and Ned to a safe place. I'll go see if anyone else needs help," Peter said, about to leave.

Silas grabbed Peter's arm. "Are you saying Ned is less important than any ordinary passerby?"

"I..." Peter was momentarily speechless. He didn't understand why Silas would say such a thing.

"It's... it's okay, Peter, you go," Ned said, fearfully grabbing Silas's arm.

With Ned holding his left arm and Misty holding his right, Silas stared directly at Peter.

"I..." Peter closed his eyes, about to deliberate on what to say.

Bang-Boom! The entire school building shook. Many students lost their footing and fell to the floor. Fortunately, Ned and Misty were holding onto Silas, or they might have fallen too.

"Hurry up and go!" There was no more time to waste. Silas grabbed both of their hands and ran out of the classroom door.

Peter clenched his teeth and shouted, "Wait!"

Peter followed closely behind. Silas was his brother, and Ned was his best friend. He couldn't abandon either of them. He decided to allow himself, Spider-Man, to be a little selfish this time!

Meanwhile, the Rhino Man Aleksei pulled his head out of the wall, looking up at the building in a huff. After receiving further reinforcement, even his face was no longer a weak point. He felt completely invincible! Excited, he went to rob a bank because Dr. Wounds said that if he did this, Spider-Man would immediately seek him out.

However, Aleksei had emptied the entire bank, and Spider-Man still hadn't appeared. Furious, he smashed the entire bank building. After finishing the destruction, he was about to return to the laboratory to wait for Spider-Man to show up. Unexpectedly, someone intercepted him halfway. Just as he was about to crush the "ant" in front of him, the person claimed to know that Spider-Man was at Midtown High School and that he only needed to cause trouble there for Spider-Man to appear.

Hearing this, Aleksei, without a second thought, excitedly ran to the school and shouted for Spider-Man and Destiny. After waiting for half a day with no reaction, he rammed his head into the wall, which caused the entire school building to shake.

"Hmph~ Was that person lying to me?" Aleksei sat down on the steps, resting his chin on his hand, thinking, after seeing that Spider-Man still hadn't appeared. That shouldn't be right, would that person dare to lie to him?
