Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: The Color-Changing Snake

"If none of you have eaten, I'll take you to find some food," David quickly stood up and offered. He thought Laufey was the only normal person, but it turned out he was even more strange.

The Shadowkhan completely ignored David's offer. One of them even threw a piece of paper at him. David picked up the paper and opened it. It read: If there's nothing else, let's continue.

"Alright then." David was only a guide serving the tourists. If the tourists didn't want to eat, they didn't have to, as long as they listened to his safety instructions during the tour.

"Then let us continue today's unfinished adventure!" David shouted.

One table of Shadowkhan immediately dropped their cards, indicating they were done playing. The Shadowkhan next to them were displeased. You can't just quit when you feel like it! I was about to win!

Amidst the Shadowkhan's squabbling, the adventure began. Laufey once again returned to the cross-dressing Shadowkhan, flattering it like a simp.

New York

"He's actually quite amusing." Silas found Laufey very interesting. Initially, the cross-dressing Shadowkhan had been ready to use the Datura Flower to poison Laufey, and if Silas hadn't stopped it, Laufey would have been dead already.

"I hope he survives." Silas was already imagining Laufey pulling down the Shadowkhan's trousers and discovering... The thought was thrilling.

During the first month of summer vacation, Peter was being Spider-Man, Tony handed the company over to Pepper Potts and went searching for excitement, and Silas finally managed to arrange a meeting with Misty.

Misty finally agreed to see Silas. They agreed to meet at a park, but only at night. Silas worried about the safety of the timing, but Misty said she would bring a bodyguard, so he dropped his objection.

At 9 PM, Silas climbed out of his window. Since Uncle Ben and Aunt May wouldn't allow him out at this hour, he had to sneak out.

The Park

"Misty?" Silas called out to a figure standing by a long bench.

"Silas," Misty turned and replied.

"It really is you. Misty, why didn't you meet me before..." As Silas spoke, the light caught a scar on Misty's face.

Misty touched her scar. "Silas, you've seen my face now." Misty had a scar of about two centimeters on the right side of her face. Two centimeters was short, but on the face, it was quite noticeable.

"It doesn't matter." Silas kissed Misty lightly on the lips, like a dragonfly skimming water.

Misty's eyes widened in shock. "Silas..."

"I like you, Misty." Silas didn't want to hide his feelings any longer. He knew Misty liked him too. They just hadn't confessed to each other, but everyone knew they were mutually attracted; otherwise, why would they hang out every weekend?

Silas waited, but Misty didn't react. Had he guessed wrong?

"Misty, don't you like me?" Silas asked, confused.

Misty's eyes widened further, and she shook her head, pointing behind Silas with her right hand.

Silas slowly turned, following Misty's gaze, and saw a man staring at him with a fierce look.

"Uh... Hello, Uncle Hugh..." Silas's mouth twitched. He hadn't expected Misty's father, Hugh, to be here!

"Silas, you dared to kiss my daughter?!" Hugh growled, clenching his fists menacingly.

Seeing Hugh's expression, Silas understood why Misty had reacted the way she had. Misty looked at her father awkwardly. She hadn't expected the usually composed Silas to actively kiss her, especially with the scar on her face. She had originally planned to bring a bodyguard, but Hugh didn't trust anyone else and had followed along, carrying a double-barreled shotgun.

Hugh raised the shotgun he was carrying, placing the barrel on Silas's chest. Silas didn't flinch. His Spider-Sense hadn't gone off, indicating Hugh had no malice and was just trying to scare him.

"It's alright, Dad, don't scare Silas," Misty said, running over to Hugh and urging him to lower the shotgun.

"Hmph!" Hugh snorted coldly and put the shotgun away. When Hugh saw Silas, he had expected him to ignore his daughter after seeing the scar. He never expected this kid, Silas, to outright kiss her. It was something he hadn't foreseen.

"Dad, can we have some privacy?" Misty asked Hugh.

Hearing his daughter say this, Hugh felt a pang in his heart. His daughter was all grown up and didn't want her dad anymore. But he had to listen to his daughter. Hugh held up two fingers, pointed to his eyes, and then pointed to Silas, indicating he would be watching him closely. Then Hugh stepped back a few paces, giving Silas and Misty five meters of private space.

"I'm sorry, Misty, I didn't know Uncle Hugh was here," Silas said apologetically.

"It's okay, Silas. But, you really don't mind my scar, do you..." Misty asked, a hint of self-consciousness in her voice.

Silas glanced at the impatient Hugh behind Misty, quickly walked up to her again, and kissed Misty on the cheek. Then Silas turned and ran without looking back, shouting as he went, "I don't mind it at all! See you tomorrow, Misty!"

"Silas!" Hugh shouted after Silas.

Silas, running away, patted his chest in relief. "Good thing I ran fast." Kissing someone's daughter in front of her father felt thrilling! After rounding a street corner, he used the Shadow Realm to teleport home.

Kapuas River Basin

"Don't move! That's a Chameleon Snake, and it's venomous," David shouted, seeing a tourist try to grab the snake on the ground.

The Chameleon Snake was the Shadowkhan's target: the Color-Changing Snake [Talisman].

The Shadowkhan ignored David, pulled out the Talisman Indicator, and confirmed the indicator pointed right at the snake. The Shadowkhan quickly grabbed the Color-Changing Snake by its neck (the vital spot) and stuffed it into a black bag.

"Hey! You can't capture wild animals!" David tried to stop the Shadowkhan, but they paid him no mind.

Seeing that the objective was secured, the cross-dressing Shadowkhan couldn't resist. It leaped up, spun 180 degrees in the air.

"Lady, your moves..." Laufey didn't get to finish before the "lady" in his eyes delivered a powerful kick.

"How dare you assault people!" David tried to pull out his personal handgun, but another Shadowkhan kicked it away.

The Shadowkhan exchanged looks, then one by one, they stepped into the Shadow Realm and disappeared. Before one of the Shadowkhan vanished, it gave David a five-star review.
