Chapter 17 - Training With The MILF

[Incorrect Judgment: Two weapons that exercise the user's will to enhance attack power. Incorrect Judgment is a double weapon forged by the Thirteen Demon Gods and wielded by the Primordial Demon himself. Its unique ability is the total annihilation of any life that touches its blade.]

"..."

If Eleanor had not been there, Kael would have rubbed his eyes to check whether it was real.

Did I steal the protagonist's luck? Or did I get it wrong, and the real protagonist of the story is Kael?

At that moment, Kael stopped joking and began to seriously question himself.

[I think the host is overthinking it.]

Hearing the system's voice, Kael rolled his eyes. That makes me even more suspicious.

Suspicious or not, he let it slide for now and then looked at her new S-rank ability.

After all, anyone could get lucky. That was Kael's opinion.

[Ordinary World: The user creates a fifty-square-meter area where the laws are modified to become ordinary and commonplace.]

Reading the skill, Kael's eyes lit up. It is not very strong offensively, but being able to control laws in this way, if I reach a certain level of mastery with this skill, I could make Mana attacks against me disappear.

With this thought, Kael nodded in approval.

"I'm ready," he declared, turning to Eleanor.

She had been waiting there for a little over a minute, so she was not particularly agitated.

Seeing that Kael was ready, she nodded. "Fine, I'll let you make the first move."

At that moment, Eleanor's expression was completely serious, even with a slight frown of zeal. If Kael could not see her favorability at 59, he would have doubted whether the other party was planning to kill him.

Kael, now wearing looser clothing, black pants and a black sleeveless T-shirt, took his evolutionary item out of his storage ring.

Instantly, the air around him grew colder.

Looking at the two weapons in his hands, Kael felt excited.

On his left, he wielded a short sword, more like a long dagger. The purple hilt, decorated with dragon patterns, made it look more extravagant. Between the completely white blade and the hilt was a red gem, similar to a ruby but darker in color.

On his right, he wielded a longer sword, similar to a saber. Unlike the extravagant design of the short sword, this one looked more lethal and elegant. The hilt was completely black, so dark that it was difficult to notice that between the hilt and the blade there was another gem, this one black. Its blade, two-toned, half pure white and half ink black, looked like a combination of Yin and Yang.

[Double Sword of Incorrect Judgment has been activated.]

[Warning: Upon reaching the Grand rank, the item will release its true soul.]

"So it even has a soul," he thought, looking at the two swords that seemed to weigh nothing, lighter than air.

Even so, the two weapons conveyed an indisputable authority, along with a dark and murderous aura.

Eleanor's expression grew more serious. "And those two cuties of yours?" she joked.

As a warrior who had been on countless battlefields, her personality had been shaped by those experiences. Kael's weapons posed a sense of danger to her, but she also found it amusing.

Could a mere swordsman give me that feeling of danger? she wondered.

Kael paid no attention to her and instead lunged at Eleanor, reaching her position in the blink of an eye.

With a single movement, he performed a double slash, one above and one below, with his two swords.

Boom

Eleanor, who had already sensed the danger, moved her long sword to block the double slash. However, the force behind the attack caused her to recoil slightly, creating a shockwave from the clash of the three swords.

"!!!"

Eleanor's expression changed once again to one of complete bewilderment.

How could he move me? she wondered, and the more she thought about it, the stranger and more confusing it became.

"Don't get distracted," Kael said, ignoring Eleanor's shock as he charged at her again, this time lunging with his short sword.

His speed was once again impressive. However, Eleanor, who had already seen Kael's explosive speed before, was able to dodge his thrust easily.

However...

Boom

The other sword, the long sword, moved toward the position where Eleanor was standing. Due to inertia, she was unable to dodge the incoming slash and could only block again.

"..."

She, Eleanor, a battle general, was forced to block two attacks twice in a row.

Sliding five meters from the impact, Eleanor looked at Kael with new eyes.

Kael raised an eyebrow. "Impressed?" he asked.

Eleanor nodded, her attitude completely sincere. "I didn't think you would have this level of mastery. Even my son, who is considered a genius with the sword, I don't think he could defeat you."

At that confession, Kael smiled.

After all, his current ferocity in battle was not an act.

According to his memories of the original Kael, he had been a great prodigy in both mana and swordplay as a child.

At that time, none of Kael's peers were his equal when it came to combat.

Now, his power did not come from nowhere, but from channeling all the experience he had gained from the thousands of battles he fought in his childhood.

Even so.

Boom Boom

Looking at Eleanor's current appearance, after she had unleashed her unique skill, Blue Flame, she now looked like a Goddess of War, with blue flames dancing around her.

"In this state, I won't stand a chance," he muttered with a scornful smile.

The difference was already huge. He was a mere swordsman, while she was a master swordswoman.

"I'm not even Intermediate rank," he thought.

However, what was the point of complaining?

Apprentice, Specialisation, Intermediate, Advanced, Great, Master, Royal, Celestial.

Those were all the ranks in the world of Mysthic.

He was at the Specialisation rank, and Eleanor surpassed him by three major levels.

He had only managed to catch her by surprise a couple of times. If she fought seriously, she could easily dodge and counterattack. Now, not only was she serious, but she had also unleashed a skill.

[New Mission: Touch Eleanor at least once in a training battle.]

[Time limit: 6 days.]

[Reward: Slight stat improvement.]

Faced with the new mission, Kael could be sure that this was the most difficult mission the system had ever given him.

And on top of that, the reward was poor...
