As they walked side by side, Kaneki was fiddling with the coins in his pocket.
"Bro, I'm serious," he said. "Why don't you use those 379 powers of yours?"
Suko slowed down. "Because if I did, the story would end in three seconds."
Kaneki laughed. "True. Instant finale, roll credits."
Suko gestured at the air. "Look… this universe is in normal flow right now. Time's moving, people are watching TV in their living rooms, someone's eating a simit on the street. For once, the world is peaceful."
Kaneki smirked. "And all that balance exists just so you don't get bored."
"Shut up."
Suko stopped and sat on a bench. His eyes drifted into the distance. "Sometimes I think… if we weren't inside a novel… what would we be?"
Kaneki sat next to him. "Probably two useless dudes."
Suko chuckled. "Facts."
He pulled out his phone. The screen flickered. "Look… the author's still watching us."
Kaneki flinched. "Man, not the fourth wall again."
Suko called out, "Hey, author!"
The air rippled.
The screen went dark, then text appeared:
"I'm reading."
Kaneki frowned. "What kind of stalker nonsense is this?"
Suko rolled his eyes. "Relax. Let the story breathe."
The text vanished.
Silence settled.
Kaneki asked, "So you gonna do something?"
Suko pretended to think. "Nope."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously. Let this be the first chapter where I don't use my power."
Kaneki stood up. "Then let's act like actual humans."
"How?"
"We go eat döner."
Suko got up. "After interdimensional nonsense, döner is the answer?"
"That's life."
They started walking.
They stopped under a streetlight. Their shadows fell side by side. Someone with power enough to crush the cosmos, and an ordinary kid, framed together.
Suko smiled faintly. "Isn't it weird?"
Kaneki asked, "What is?"
"All that infinity wasn't enough… and I still needed you next to me."
Kaneki shrugged. "Too much power has one weakness."
"What?"
"A friend."
They fell silent.
Suko didn't bend time. Didn't rewrite reality. Didn't touch the universe.
He just walked.
And for the first time,
the story flowed normally.
