The Locker Room Buzz (Boys' POV)
The Class 1-A boys' locker room was a symphony of adrenaline. The air was thick with the scent of cheap disinfectant and raw excitement. Suitcases bearing their assigned numbers were scattered everywhere.
"ALL MIGHT is teaching us battle training first day!" yelled Eijiro Kirishima, already pulling on his sleeveless top. "This is what being a hero is all about!"
"We must be disciplined!" Tenya Iida declared, zipping into his angular, metallic armor suit with almost military speed. "But I admit, the opportunity to train under the Symbol of Peace is... highly motivating!"
Katsuki Bakugo was already fully changed, his gauntlets resting on the bench, his costume—a fierce, sleeveless black top and large, grenade-shaped gear—exuding menace. He slammed his locker door.
"Doesn't matter who the teacher is, I'm still crushing every one of you extras! Especially that damn Icicles and that weak Deku!"
Izuku Midoriya, timidly peeling off his gym uniform, looked up at Bakugo, his eyes wide. "Kacchan, you can't just—"
"He's right," Tsubaki interjected, pulling on his own base layer, his voice cutting through the noise with calm certainty. "The instructor is irrelevant. The objective is to improve. This training is merely a platform for evaluation."
Kirishima looked over. "Whoa, Tsubaki, even you are fired up! That's intense, man."
"This is the test my Quirk is designed for," Tsubaki replied, his eyes focused on his numbered suitcase. "I won't waste the opportunity."
As the other boys discussed their designs—Kaminari bragging about the insulation of his jacket, Ojiro flexing his tail muscles—Tsubaki finalized his preparation.
The Locker Room Excitement (Girls' POV)
In the girls' locker room, the energy was equally high, but channeled into excited chatter and nervous adjustments of fabric and gear.
Ochaco Uraraka stared at her simple, bubble-like suit, bouncing lightly on her toes. "I can't believe we get to wear these! I'm so ready to smash some robots!"
Mina Ashido was already posing in her brightly colored suit, horns poking out from her headgear. "I wish I'd added some acid-proof spikes! But this will do! Everyone look amazing!"
Momo Yaoyorozu, adjusting the final components of her sleek, red bodysuit, smiled with measured enthusiasm. "It is exciting. My design prioritizes maximum skin exposure for Creation, which, while aesthetically jarring, is functionally sound."
Tsuyu Asui was pulling on her dark green suit. "Kero. Todoroki-kun was so quiet, but I bet his costume is really functional. He thinks everything through."
"Todoroki-kun, Tsubaki, right?" Uraraka asked. "He's really scary, but super smart. He was talking to Yaoyorozu about strategic perimeter defense."
Momo nodded. "Todoroki-kun is highly analytical. He approached me directly at lunch to discuss Quirk limitations. His focus is intense, almost unnerving, but admirable. His competitive spirit is… refreshing."
Mina sighed dramatically. "Ugh, you two are going to make this entire year a study group, aren't you? I just want to look cool and melt things!"
The intercom crackled, signaling the class to assemble. The girls exchanged high-fives and hurried toward the exit tunnel.
Assembly in Ground Beta
Tsubaki was one of the last few students to emerge from the tunnel entrance of Ground Beta, the massive training city. The artificial daylight glinted off the towering skyscrapers, providing the perfect backdrop for their unveiling.
All Might stood waiting, beaming proudly.
One by one, the students stepped out, a cascade of vibrant, personalized gear.
Finally, Tsubaki stepped fully into the light.
His costume was a seamless fusion of dark tactical gear and protective cryo-armor. The base was a dark, almost midnight-blue thermal-regulating material. Over this, he wore highly articulated, metallic blue chest armor featuring a stylized, pale blue snowflake emblem at the center. This armor was reinforced with Quirk-regulating superconductor coils designed to absorb the excess heat displacement created by his Absolute Zero Quirk, allowing for sustained, powerful bursts.
His gear included a high, black tactical collar and a dark blue face mask covering his mouth and nose, specialized gauntlets for directed cold bursts, and reinforced low-friction boots.

All Might greeted the assembled students. "They look great, everyone! You all look so cool!"
The students immediately turned their attention to their peers.
"Momo, you look amazing! It's so functional!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"Bakugo, that giant hand gear is insane!" Kirishima laughed, genuinely impressed.
Bakugo scoffed at Tsubaki's appearance. "What is that, a fridge? Looks weak as hell!"
Tsubaki met Bakugo's eyes, his expression unchanging. "It is designed for precision and containment, Bakugo. Unlike yours, my Quirk is not solely focused on volume and destruction. This armor maintains my core temperature at optimal levels for maximum efficiency."
Momo stepped forward, examining Tsubaki's chest plate. "The armor appears to be a specialized ceramic alloy, allowing for thermal management while protecting vital organs. A sophisticated design, Todoroki-kun."
Tsubaki's gaze swept over her in response, pausing momentarily on the areas of exposed skin necessary for her Quirk. He felt a brief, unfamiliar heat rise to his face before he quickly suppressed it.
"It is sophisticated," Tsubaki agreed, his voice tight with forced neutrality, " And uhm... your costume design is—highly revealing. While functional for Creation, it presents a significant surface area for external harm."
Momo's reserved posture broke. Her cheeks flushed a deep red, and she nervously fiddled with her cuffs. "W-well, yes! It has to be! I can't create materials through fabric, so I require a maximum surface area for the lipid conversion! It's purely functional! It was designed by professionals!"
Midoriya, standing nearby in his simple mask and green jumpsuit, piped up, trying to defuse the awkwardness. "T-Todoroki-kun, your suit looks really practical! Mine is... well, it's not very practical for my Quirk, I think."
Tsubaki turned his analytical gaze to Midoriya's costume. "It is visually derivative of All Might's Silver Age uniform, but structurally useless. There are no reinforcements for managing kinetic output, or even basic protective layers. It seems designed purely for inspiration, not combat."
Midoriya slumped slightly.
' He's right. I just copied All Might because I didn't know what I was doing.'
Uraraka jumped in " Don't worry Midoriya I think your costume is amazing and it isn't a bad thing to copy your idol."
" Thanks Uraraka" Midoriya said feeling less dejected
All Might cleared his throat, directing their attention. He held up a small explanation card.
"Right! Now that you're all in gear, let's get down to business! You'll be split into teams of two, Heroes versus Villains! The exercise will take place in this indoor facility! The villain team is guarding a fake nuclear weapon, and the hero team must secure it or capture the villains!"
Iida, chopping his hand sharply, immediately asked, "Sensei! How will the teams be decided?!"
All Might chuckled and dramatically pulled out a box labeled 'Lots.' He then fumbled with the note card as he explained the setup, causing a few muffled chuckles.
"In this situation, the villains are hidden inside the building, and the heroes must go in to flush them out! Time is limited! The hero team wins if they capture the villains or secure the weapon! The villain team wins if they protect the weapon until time is up, or capture the heroes!"
He then held up the box. "And the teams will be decided! Through the method of drawing lots!"
Tsubaki watched as the students groaned, then quickly grew silent with anticipation. His mind immediately began pairing potential combatants and calculating optimal strategies for each pairing.
All Might beamed, holding the box out to the class. " This exercise tests more than the entrance exam as you'll be facing real people. It's time for Battle Training! Let the games begin!"
