Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Full-Beast Ascension Rite!

[Without realizing it, you spend a year in Siberia. From this year on, you assist the two Beasts of light and dark every day—and at night you replenish Koyanskaya like a demon would.]

[You also pay close attention to outside movements. As the Beast of Cherishment's power grows, even the Counter Force will notice.]

[So… will the Counter Force really allow a complete Beast to appear right under its nose?]

A Beast is the "cancer" that appears alongside the development of human civilization—also a natural disaster born when certain human traits (pity, regression, tolerance, etc.) develop to extremes and finally spiral out of control, threatening humanity itself.

Some Beast seats are divided into Left/Right (L/R)…

But even "half" is a massive threat to human reason.

And Koyanskaya isn't satisfied with that.

She intends to become truly whole.

[Even though you understand how difficult full ascension is, you still choose to respect Koyanskaya's decision.]

[Moreover, during this period you use part of purified energy as "nutrition" to replenish the magical power of the Foreign God, still in her "baby" stage.]

[Though she intends to destroy the human world and rebuild a new "alien" world in the future, she can also absorb the special energy you purify.]

[However, you remain wary of her. Often, every three to five days, you use "physical fatigue" as an excuse to give her energy.]

[She often expresses dissatisfaction—but after tasting the "sweetness" of your purified energy, she chooses to swallow her anger anyway.]

At the deepest center of the cosmos, countless galaxies converged into a near-transparent veil, gently wrapping a sleeping god.

The Alien Planet's God.

Curled quietly at the lonely heart of space, she slept in peace.

Through the Foreign God's Seed, Izaya entered that special world again, delivering purified energy as he did routinely.

And once again, he couldn't help staring at the woman receiving it—eyes half-closed, seated at the center of the universe.

Her long silver hair was like pure moonlight, fanning in perfect spirals through the weightless space. Each strand seemed to drink the silence of the cosmos and emit a faint halo.

Her noble, elegant face was serene; her long upturned lashes trembled slightly.

So gentle that one could almost forget she was the ultimate calamity destined to ruin human history.

Her slender, graceful figure was accentuated by streamlined tights, making her look all the more feminine and dangerous.

Why are these Beasts always so… good-looking?

Izaya lifted his gaze, silently watching the silver-haired woman who perfectly fused beauty and mystery, and sighed inwardly.

If the game allowed choosing factions, he should've picked the Beast side for the challenge.

Even after meeting many times, every time he saw the Foreign God, he found himself drawn to her movements and presence.

If he were a normal Magus—if he truly ran into the Foreign God—his legs would probably have given out on the spot.

But to Izaya, appearance mattered above all.

Who wouldn't be moved by a scene like this?

As if noticing his gaze, the Foreign God's lashes trembled; she slowly opened her eyes.

"Why have you been staring at me this whole time?"

Izaya thought for a moment, then smiled.

"Maybe because you look good."

"Look good…?"

The Foreign God blanked for a second. Confusion surfaced in her pale-gold pupils; even her usually expressionless face looked genuinely puzzled.

She was a "fragment" left on this planet by the Foreign God. To human magi, she should inspire instinctive fear no matter how broad their minds were.

But…

This man was different.

At that moment, the Foreign God suddenly lifted her head as if sensing something. Her golden eyes looked beyond this universe.

Through this world, she saw Siberia.

On that unfamiliar land, leaden clouds crawled from the horizon.

The sun grew harsher, golden light piercing through the clouds—like a dragon opening its golden eyes, staring down at the earth with indifference.

"What is it?" Izaya asked.

She didn't answer. She only felt the changes outside, and a faint smile appeared on her indifferent face.

"I see… Her growth rate is too fast. Some existences can't ignore it anymore."

"I can feel the two great Counter Forces suppressing me… Their power is weakening. Before this Beast of Cherishment fully ascends, the world intends to kill her."

"A Grand Heroic Spirit… summoned to subdue a Beast."

"They will soon arrive on this land."

Izaya's eyes flashed.

"You mean… to prevent her full ascension, a Grand Heroic Spirit has been summoned by the Counter Force itself?"

He thought quickly, then looked up at her.

"Foreign God. I want to make a deal with you."

As if understanding his intent, she said lightly, "Sajyou Izaya, you should know… I'm still too weak. If someone discovers what I truly am, the cost-benefit is terrible."

"Helping you would do me more harm than good—"

"Didn't you say it would take over a hundred years to mature?" Izaya interrupted, staring at her. "If you accept the deal, then even after I leave, I'll supply you energy for the next three years. How about it?"

The Foreign God startled, then quickly shook her head. "This isn't about energy—"

"Five years."

"My main concern is—"

"Ten years."

"…Fine. It's a deal."

[Under your persuasion—perhaps after considering everything—the Foreign God finally agrees to your deal. She will move at a crucial moment.]

[With her promise, you feel slightly relieved.]

[After all, even if a Grand Heroic Spirit descends under the Counter Force's summoning, you still have a trump card… though she is uncontrollable.]

[After leaving that seed-world, you begin sending today's purified energy to Koyanskaya.]

[Under your "conditioning," every inch of her skin glows faintly. Beautiful—yet carrying an indescribable danger.]

[Still, she only clings to you more sweetly than ever…]

Midnight. Silent.

"Mm… ha…"

Sweet, tempting breaths brushed his face, and then her red lips claimed him.

"Izaya… Izaya…"

Sweat seeped through fine pink hair and dripped onto the black-haired man's chest.

All this time, Izaya had given up on driving the big car, choosing instead to lie down and endure.

Though the interface kept warning him: magical energy replenishment, in this moment he ignored the system entirely and drowned in the atmosphere.

[After three hours of effort, embraced together, this land rapidly recovers the stamina you lost.]

[While warming up with you, she suddenly speaks, as if to tell you something important.]

"Izaya, in three days I'll officially begin the Beast ascension rite. After that… I might not be able to see you for a while."

"If anything turns dangerous, you must run first."

"And… I know you're worried, but don't worry. I will definitely ascend to a complete form."

[By instinct, Koyanskaya seems to faintly sense this ascension won't be so simple. But she comforts you anyway, to ease your mind.]

[You don't expose her lie. You just smile and nod.]

[Three long days passed in a blink.]

[At dawn on the third day, the sky was smothered in dark clouds, thunder rumbling deep within.

The Siberian land, scorched by the explosion, was usually bone-dry with little rain—yet today the sky was gloomy as night.]

[Koyanskaya had prepared and steeled herself for a long time. Before leaving the tent, she finally hugged you gently.]

"The ceremony is about to begin… Before I start, hug me a little more."

[You hold her mature, full body tightly, and kiss her soft red lips.]

No more words were needed. A single look was enough.

Both of you smiled, understanding.

Then she turned and left.

[You step out of the tent, watching her head toward the end of the cloudy sky.]

[At that moment, another elegant figure appears in your vision… The cheerful creature came to see you before the rite began.]

[You give her a faint smile. She doesn't greet you—only sends you a deep look, then walks in the same direction as Koyanskaya.]

[You don't persuade her. You know this is the fate between the two of them…]

BOOM!

A thunderous roar shook Siberia. Before the rain, the air was thick with steam.

Izaya stood before the tent, staring at the faint lightning on the horizon.

"A storm's coming…" he murmured.

At the same time, it was as if the entire resentment of Tunguska began to scream.

The scorched-earth plan reached its limit at this very moment.

Hundreds of millions of phantoms—filled with hatred as if they'd received a silent command—collapsed at once, liquefying into a dark, viscous torrent.

It was as though all of Siberia had become a black sea made of pure resentment.

Above, thunderclouds piled thick and heavy. Purple-black lightning ripped the sky apart—not natural lightning, but the sorrow of "history" itself, unable to bear the weight of this immense curse.

At Earth's heart, a colossal vortex of resentment formed.

Koyanskaya stood at the dead still center of the storm.

Eyes closed, expression serene like a saint, she opened her arms to welcome her evolution.

The black sea of hatred rose into the sky, becoming dark chains that silently melted into her body.

This was no mere ascension.

It was a coronation.

In that moment, it was as if the whole planet beyond Tunguska sensed the birth of a disaster.

From the Amazon rainforest to the Sahara desert, from the deepest Mariana Trench to Everest's summit—every Beast on Earth, strong or weak, nearly simultaneously fell into madness.

They howled, pain and ecstasy intertwined, as if welcoming a queen of fate.

The Full-Beast Ascension Rite had begun!
