Chapter 91 - Chapter 91

The Kraken finally revealed its full form.

The surface of the sea split apart, the water rising as if pulled by an unseen will. That massive body rose slowly, yet with every passing second it pressed down on the world around it. Its tentacles towered high, covered in huge suckers that pulsed like living organs, while its main body—dark, massive, and marked with black-lined patterns—trembled faintly.

Then it roared.

The sound was not merely a cry. It was a vibration that traveled through water, air, and earth, striking the consciousness of anyone who heard it. Some Vikings staggered, their ears ringing. Even the Einherjar paused for a moment, as if recognizing something that should not exist on this floor.

The roar was answered.

The sea monsters surrounding it—Deep Ones, creatures half-submerged in water—began to move in the same rhythm.

Jun, floating in the air above the front line, narrowed his eyes.

He could feel it.

That pressure… was different.

Not merely physical strength, but a presence. An existence that stood between a monster and a cosmic entity. And for the first time since this battle began, Jun felt something close to a worthy challenge.

"So you finally show yourself," he muttered softly.

The Kraken's body was enormous—so large that, from a certain angle, it could be compared to Jörmungandr sleeping in the distance. Though it did not coil around the world, its very existence was enough to make the sea submit.

And indeed, the sea submitted.

The water around the Kraken no longer obeyed natural law.

Waves ceased to be waves. Currents ceased to be currents. The sea itself became an extension of the monster's will.

The water spun, rose, then collapsed again without any natural pattern—forming a giant vortex that throbbed like a heart. Walls of water surged upward, slamming into the shore with brutal force, crushing the remains of the harbor and forcing the warriors to step back.

Spears of water formed from pure pressure, shooting forth at terrifying speed. They did not need tentacles to kill—one pass alone could pierce a human body as if through wet paper.

Several Vikings were thrown away. The Einherjar could hold out longer, yet even they were forced to exert their full strength just to endure.

This was no ordinary Kraken.

On the surface of its body, the black lines now glowed more clearly—not merely patterns, but symbols. Their shapes resembled foreign characters not born from Nordic runes, yet old enough to make the air itself feel heavy.

Thanks to the intervention of Cthulhu, the creature had changed.

It was no longer merely a sea monster.

It was—

Superior Kraken.

An existence that had received a direct blessing from a cosmic entity. Its body was strengthened by a light distortion of reality, its regeneration accelerated by energy from beyond the world, and its consciousness connected directly to the will of the ancient lord of the sea.

A low roar escaped its body, not as a scream, but as a command.

And the sea obeyed.

The vortex widened, swallowing dozens of Deep Ones—but instead of dying, their bodies melted, their energy absorbed directly by the Kraken. Its tentacles swelled, its skin hardened further, and the surrounding pressure spiked drastically.

Ingrid widened her eyes.

"It… it's absorbing its own followers," she said tensely.

Ragnar ground his teeth. "What kind of monster devours its own army…"

Jun, floating in the air right before the vortex, felt the pressure directly.

The Demonic Qi surrounding his body vibrated violently, as if refusing to be suppressed by another will. His hair and clothes fluttered wildly—not from wind, but from a distortion in reality's pressure.

Yet—

Jun merely gave a faint smile.

"So you've evolved," he murmured. "No wonder."

He slowly raised his sword. Maw resonated, its blade reflecting a dark crimson light. The black-red Qi did not explode wildly—it condensed, becoming heavier, more controlled.

The Superior Kraken moved a single tentacle.

The sea split apart.

A colossal wave formed, far larger than before, carrying enough force to destroy a small island. It surged toward Jun, devouring the sky and sea in a single sweep.

Jun did not retreat.

He stepped forward in the air.

One step.

The Qi within Jun's body finally merged completely.

The raging Demonic Qi and his personal will no longer clashed—they resonated, forming a counter-pressure strong enough to hold back the raging sea. The air around him trembled, as if reality itself refused the existence of two colossal wills colliding.

"If this is your master's will," Jun said softly. His voice was nearly drowned by crashing waters and the Kraken's roar. "Then I'll break it here."

In his hand, the sword trembled.

Jun lowered his gaze for a moment.

"Maw," he whispered.

From the blade, the same cheerful voice—utterly unfitting for such a brutal battlefield—answered.

"Maw~"

Without hesitation, Jun released his grip.

The sword softened, turning back into a bluish slime that wrapped around his arm. Jun raised both hands upward, then poured an enormous surge of Demonic Qi into the air. The energy did not explode—it gathered, condensed, swirling around him like a black-red vortex.

The pressure spiked sharply.

"HAAAAAAAH—"

Jun's voice echoed, this time clearly heard across the entire battlefield.

"BALANCE BREAKER!"

Pitch-black light burst from his body.

In an instant, Maw was completely absorbed into Jun. The slime did not vanish—it assimilated. The surface of Jun's body became covered in a black layer that moved like a living creature, forming plate after plate of armor—rough, jagged, and brutally angular.

Curved black horns emerged from the slowly-forming helm. Cracks of glowing red shone beneath the armor, like magma flowing under iron skin. Faint wings of dark energy stretched across his back—not for flight, but as a manifestation of pressure.

『Black Calamity God Armor – Chi You』

The battlefield froze for a moment.

The Vikings fell silent, their axes half-raised. The Einherjar paused, their eyes glowing brighter than before. Even Ingrid, who had witnessed countless divine miracles, went still, her breath caught.

The figure in the air was… not human.

Yet neither was it a mere demon.

It was something between a will wrapped in calamity.

The Superior Kraken roared in fury.

Its massive tentacles struck through the air, lunging toward Jun with enough force to tear apart a small island. The sea rose with them, following the assault.

Jun floated above it all, his body feeling far lighter—or perhaps the world around him felt heavier.

One tentacle slammed down.

Jun lifted his arm.

From his right armored arm, a black blade extended, connected directly to the armor itself—not a separate weapon, but part of his body.

One slash.

The tentacle was cut clean through, falling into the sea like a block of tofu, black-green blood spraying and evaporating instantly upon contact with the heat of the Demonic Qi.

Jun moved.

He ran through the air, leaping from tentacle to tentacle, each step followed by a small burst of energy. The black blades on his arms danced, carving deep wounds into the Kraken's body—wounds that pulsed with dark energy.

His intent was clear.

The head.

But the Superior Kraken was no fool.

Several remaining tentacles suddenly stopped their physical assault. At their tips, strange magic circles formed—not Nordic runes, nor human magic. Their shapes were unstable, as if drawn by a mind not entirely anchored to this world.

The circles glowed.

And from them, bursts of energy and spatial distortion erupted in all directions, cutting off Jun's path, forcing the air itself to bend.

Jun narrowed his eyes behind the Chi You helm.

He paused in the air, Demonic Qi swirling even thicker around him.
