The sea swallowed them whole.
The moment Riley and Viktor crashed into the freezing water, the raging current tore them apart before dragging them back together again.
Above them, thunder split the sky.
Below them, darkness stretched endlessly.
For several terrifying seconds, neither man could tell which way was the surface.

Riley forced himself upward.
