Ethan;
She turns her head slightly toward me, with her expression serious in a way I don't see often.
"There was someone in my house, Ethan." She repeats with all the disbelief she still feels over the fact.
"I knew it the second I stepped in," she continues.
"The scent was wrong. Subtle, but wrong. Like something had shifted where it shouldn't have. And for some fucked up reason, the weird scent smelled… familiar." She continues, and I nod slowly. I don't interrupt.
"I turned on the light, and they were just… there." She adds as her fingers curl into the fabric of her jacket.
My throat goes dry.
"Wearing a mask, and all black, just standing in my living room like some demon waiting to pounce." She adds, and my heart pounds violently.
I don't know what I would have done if I were in her place.
"I screamed. Ran. Didn't even think." She lets out a shaky breath as she pulls her knees closer to her chest.
"He chased me, Ethan." She shudders, and I feel my stomach twist.
