"That was so fast." Luna said as she struggled to lift her sword. Everyone was now in awe of Koby. He wasn't a mindless creature like the shoggoths that were easy to cut down. He was a fully functional human being that was now hunting them after they were already tired out.
"Hit him with Resonance, Rory." Zara shouted.
With a clap of his palms, Rory created the sound wave that caused pain to those nearby but didn't faze Koby. Resonance couldn't penetrate the dark aura surrounding him. Rushing towards Rory with a ghost step, Koby tried to hack at him but is blocked again.
"You're not getting me that easily." Rory said smirking.
Koby let out a grin before using his second hatchet to strike again but it was narrowly avoided by Rory, as he tried to keep distance between them.
Just as Koby was about to move, earthen rocks covered is body. It had been cast by Clifford.
"Is someone going to kill him?" Clifford shouted.
"Coming through." Rory announced jumping in to slice Koby's head off.
Just as the blade was about to hit, an arrow shot through, making Rory to miss his shot as he tried dodging the arrow, missing it slightly. Everyone looked in the direction the arrow came from, seeing Kai pointing another arrow.
"Anyone who tries to kill him will die at my hands." He said dead serious.
Seeing the commotion, Koby let out a dark aura wave breaking his earthen bounds, also pushing back Rory in the process.
Not wanting to give Koby anytime to recuperate, Luna, James, Kai and Zara jumped into the fray.
Using her longsword, Luna blocked Koby's hatchet while James gave an energized punch to Koby's gut. Zara and Kai readied their spell for support.
"Kai, what are we going to do if we're not killing him?!" Luna shouted at Kai.
Creating another burst of aura wave, Koby struck at Luna's longsword
"Dual Bite." His voice echoed mimicking the ghostly voice from his head. With that strike he knocks away Luna's sword and proceeds to give her a roundhouse kick to the face, sending her flying. With bursts of energy he dashed towards Zara, punching her square in the face while throwing his hatchet at Kai making him miss his aim.
Just as Koby was about to kill Zara, Rory came in with an attack.
"Sonic Boom." The shockwaves pushed Koby away, while everyone looked on helplessly.
"Kai, if my plan doesn't work then we're killing Koby. If you try to stop us, then I'll kill you first." Rory said visibly annoyed.
"What's the plan?" Kai asked.
"The aura around him is like a corruption." Rory said.
"And?"
"A healer with enough energy should be at the ready. Ophelia, I'll need your help in restraining him." Rory explained.
"Any healer with enough energy present?" Luna shouted. Raya stepped forward at the call.
"Can you handle it, Raya?" Kai asked.
"Of course, I can. It's the least I could do for, Koby." Raya said.
"And the rest of us?" Luna directed her question to Rory.
"Help me pin him down." Rory said dashing towards Koby, stopping midway a d delivering a roundhouse kick to the face. James came in next with a boxing stance, going for a straight but as it was about to be blocked by Koby, he switched to an elbow hit to the face which sent Koby crashing through the hall.
Just as Koby was about to stand up, earthen rocks covered his hands and was made strong with energy from Clifford. Luna rushed in, putting her longsword down for support.
"Earth Tremor." This caused a quake that sunk Koby's feet into the ground through a crack.
"Ophelia, restrain him now." Rory shouted.
Ophelia using vines, ties up Koby, bringing him down and holding him in place.
"Where's that healer?" Rory shouted.
Raya ran up to the restrained Koby and places her palm on his forehead.
"What am I supposed to do?" Raya asked.
"Think of that dark aura as an injury and try to heal it." Rory said as he readied his dagger for the worst case scenario.
Closing her eyes, Raya got to work. Spreading her healing aura around Koby's body.
"Koby please snap out of it." Raya cried as she spread her aura.
Inside the dark void, Koby kept on sinking into the pool, devoid of noise. Everything seemed distant and then he finally heard Raya's voice calling to him.
"Raya?" Koby tried to make out the voice as he struggled to swim upwards towards the light that shone above. Dark aura tendrils stretched out from the depths of the void trying to tie him down but he struggled hard, loosening it's grip and swimming towards the light.
"You cannot escape what you are, young one."- The ghostly voice chuckled "I'll always be here."
With one final push, Koby surfaced from the void with a huge gasp, waking up to see himself restrained and everyone pointing a weapon at him.
"What happened?" Koby asked as Raya heaved a sigh of relief.
"Let's just say, you have a lot of pent up rage."Rory smirked before slumping to the ground and others followed.
