Chapter 1 - The 7 Century Slavery

In the Taichu Era, the Murim Empire was at peace. The Mystic Mountain Sect Leader, Gu-Taichu, was the greatest magic master at the moment. Gu-Taichu had a wish to amalgamate the Murim Empire with good intention. He won the hearts of all sects he visited and rumors spread that he would be a great emperor. This was until he visited the Blue Moon Sect and fell in love with a mistress.

This wasn't supported by the Mystic Mountain Sect since the Blue Moon Sect was an inferior sect of the empire. Not up to a year later, Gu-Taichu was killed and the Blue Moon Sect was held responsible. Then, the Mystic Mountain Sect raged war on them. The brother of Gu-Taichu, Gu-Shoumin, became the new master of the Mystic Mountain Sect and put the Blue Moon Sect under slavery and torture.

This was an action that changed the mind of other sects on the amalgamation of the Murim Empire under Gu-Shoumin. He then gave up the idea of conquering the whole Murim Empire but kept the Blue Moon Sect as permanent slaves.

700 Years Later:

The xaomi Era

Every year, thirty children were taken to the Mystic Mountain Sect to serve as slaves. Ever since then, when children get to the age of three, they were to be used as slaves which I, Lu-Hanzhou was among. I grew up with the life of slavery and watched the Mystic Mountain's members live freely. I watched them beat up my fellows and even rape the women. And then I decided, I must make them pay.

I often times talked to my fellows but never enjoyed it except when I talked to Li-Xiaoyan. I know it might be weird for a fourteen-year-old to say, but it felt as if I was in love with her. She was too beautiful to be a slave. She was even as beautiful as a minister's daughter. It was as if she was the only one I could talk to. I couldn't even talk to others for more than a minute, but I could spend the whole day by her side.

Everyone loved her. She was like an embodiment of perfection. She was even famous amongst the slavers and they would never hit her. She even stopped the slavers from beating people and would sometimes yell at them. It was obvious that some of them hated her for it. It was as if they even planned to gang up on her, but if they ever do so, I would poison their food and feed their corpse to mountain wolves... of course, I never told her this.

I felt that she was kind of naive. I sometimes had to step up and play the bad guy. I also had to help others since it makes her happy and it was so annoying. It felt as if someone like her didn't belong here with slaves, so I had to get her out of here. Mostly for bigger food cause she always ate both our afternoon meals saying she was "my duty as her brother," but we weren't even related.

In the Slaves' Pit, we were allowed to go outside once a month and we were all given three pieces of bronze coins. It's not out of goodwill; it's to prevent other sects from interfering. The best part was that today is Xiaoyan's birthday. It was obvious that everyone would try to get her the best gift ever, but three bronze coins are mere trash, and that's why I've been saving up for a whole year.

Xiaoyan and I got out of the Slaves' Pit. I didn't want Xiaoyan to know my plan so I told her that we should split up. I was headed to get cultivation scrolls to be able to get strong enough to get Xiaoyan out of the Slaves' Pit. I couldn't tell her this so I would just tell her that I didn't get her anything for her birthday. She would be mad, right? I got to a scroll shop to get some. They knew I was a slave so it was obvious that they would sell me some fake cultivation scrolls.

But what they didn't know was that fake scrolls are made from Yin and Yan cultivation mixed with Demonic Cultivation which scatters the Qi of the cultivator and could lead to death. So all I had to do was separate the Demonic Cultivation and learn the Yin or Yan cultivation, that's what I would have said if I was normal. This time, I am learning nothing but DEMONIC CULTIVATION.

A Grand Master cultivator can detect the Qi point of a Spirit cultivator but not that of a Demonic cultivator. Demonic cultivation is forbidden, but I don't care. If I get caught, I would be killed in an instance but only if they can catch me. A Spirit cultivator's Qi can be sensed immediately by any cultivator so it would be better off using Demonic cultivation.

I bought the fake scrolls and ran into an abandoned building. I knew that if I learned even a little bit of Yin and Yan cultivation, I would die instantly, so I have to focus. I didn't have any Qi at the moment so I couldn't differentiate Spirit cultivation from Demonic cultivation. All I could do was to learn the ones I felt dark aura from. I learnt the cultivation katas of the first scroll and luckily, I learnt only Demonic cultivation. Now I was finally an intermediate Demonic cultivator.
