"Wow.... the way you are smiling you could pierce a hole in the wall." Marcus said to Darian who was busy cleaning his gun.
"What... me, how so?" He said as he quickly when back to his old expressionless face
"You normally have a cold dark expression but here you are all smiling like some freak."
"Don't be a fool, it's obviously nothing."
"Don't tell me it's that club girl again?" Marcus said as he shot his target in the head and Darian smirk as he said. " Like I said don't be a fool, you know having any desire especially love is out of my book."
"I thought as much... having unusual feelings will only be a burden on your path, you know you only have two more years in this hell hole don't get kill before that."
"I won't"
'What is this feeling, I didn't even notice I was smiling, I'm not allow to feel this feeling, nor can I lead her on or get her in this hell of a life. Feeling is nothing but burden and hindrance in my life right now, I can't allow myself to be carry away by mere infatuation. NEVER.
Darian rush home and stood under the shower and allow the water washes away the blood from his body. 'I'm a monster.' he thought and monster don't need salvation nor love.
He got out of the shower after a very long bath and wipe his skin and put on his robe as he laid down flat on his bed and his mind couldn't let go of the sparking image of Lorine and for some reason he finds it hard to believe the same mind that keeps reminding him of how awful and dangerous his life is and how love is not require, it's the same mind that can't let go of her.
That smile that bring joy to his bleeding heart, her skin as smooth and pure as the falling snow, her presence that brings him warmth, such comfort that makes him wonder, it's the kind that makes silence feel meaningful instead of empty. All this makes him doubt if what he is feeling for this woman he just met for not more than a day or two is really infatuation.
And so, the battle between what is and what could be begins.
