After calming them down me, Tinkatuff, Lopunny and Flutter Mane came with me back to the other side of the cliffside.
Pupitar along with RolyColy worked together to continue expanding the cave and in a few days to maybe a week they will reach the other side.
Whrilipede was sleeping within their pokeball awaiting their next evolution while Larvitar retreated into their pokeball and didn't want to be bothered unless it was time to eat.
'I know I will get their recognition soon enough.' I thought to myself while we made our way towards the Metal ore vein.
The metal ore vein was the entire length of the valley between the small cliffside mountain our cave was in and the mountains on the otherside that lead up to a volcano in the center which nearby is where I found Larvesta.
"Tink! Tink!" (There's so much ore here master! Maybe with all of this I can finish making my Hammer!)
"Maybe, but I think you need stronger metals to make your hammer better." I say as I timber that Tinkatuff's hammer can't be made into its final form with just normal metals.
From Tinkatink to Tinkatuff normal metal works in its forging as they are made that way with random scrap metal, but Tinkatuff to Tinkaton she needs more than normal ore, she needs pokemon metal.
"Tink?" (Normal ore isn't good enough?)
"No, you still need normal metal, but what is the metal made from Steel Pokemon as well." I went onto explain.
Funnily enough 'most' steel covered pokemon look that way because of them wearing metal shells over their body, not all of them were their skin but a shell.
Corvaknight, Bisharp and several others are all wearing armor but that wasn't their skin thus if it was removed it wouldn't outright kill them as a result.
"Tink? Tink! Tink!" (Really? Alright! Then after we get plenty of ores let's go find some Steel Pokemon!) She said excitedly as she raised her hammer high and twirled it around with extreme finesse.
So Tinkatuff began to get to work, smashing her hammer into various ores all over the place as we collect them and place them in my inventory.
"Tinkatuff, were you the only one in this valley when I found you?" I couldn't help but ask as usually Tinkatinks would gather under a Tinkaton to guide them in the wild.
The reason why I was asking this is because if she was from a group of other Tinkatinks learning what they know from a Tinkaton on how to forge their hammers and for their hammers to be made from pokemon metal to become Tinkaton's.
"Tink? Tink…" (Really? I didn't know that, I woke up all alone from my egg in a nearby cave, the pokemon in their didn't like me, so they chased me away…)
"You woke up in a cave? And the pokemon didn't like you so they chased you off? You remember what they looked like?" I ask as it was strange she would be born all alone.
"Tink tink." (They were big ants with metal skin, I woke up inside the cave surrounded by many eggs, I guess they might have thought I was trying to take their eggs and chased me out.)
"Big ants with metal Skin? That must be a Durant colony nearby, but this is a good thing Tinkatuff as Durants shells are made of Metal so we can fight them for their metal." I say as I rember their shell was made to protect them from their natural predator Heatmor.
However Heatmor back in ancient times was a full blown anteater pokemon being solely a ground type and when Durants gained their steel skin they were safe for a time until Heatmor, maybe originally called Antmor or something, changed their types and gained the Fire typing thus being able to hunt down Durants effectively.
"Tink tink!" (Then let's hunt some Durants!) she said excitedly as she led the charge across the valley.
I might catch a few Durants as we had plenty of Tumblestones and Apricorns to make more pokeballs and they could speed up the process of extending the cave with Pupitar and Rolycoly.
So we followed after Tinkatuff and soon enough we found it, a small hill at the end of the Valley full of holes and Durants were coming in and out of the ant hill.
"Tink Tink!" (There they are! Get them!)
"Screeee!!!!" The Durants easily saw us as we began our approach and cried out before giving a charge at us.
"Tinkatuff use Brutal Swing! Lopunny use Mach Punch! Flutter Mane Use Shadow Ball!" I call out to all three of them to attack together.
"Tink!"
"Mmhmm!"
"Mane~!"
They all charge up their attacks as Tinkatuff hefts up her hammer before spinning heavily and smashing her hammer into the nearby Durants.
Lopunny's body Blurs before she appears behind multiple Durants in a punching pose before a massive impact whips by and sends several Durants flying.
Meanwhile Flutter Mane opens her mouth as a Shadow ball appears in front of her mouth before launching it at a mass of them and sending them flying as well.
But while these Durants were relatively weak there was one problem, a Durant Colony can host thousands of Durants and while these might just be the weakest Worker ants, soon enough the older, stronger and tougher Durants akin to real life Warrior ants will soon come to protect the colony.
And without any type advantage we can only go so far before we would have to fall back unless….
I look down at the Pokeball in my hand before I hold it tight and throw it out before me, "Come out Larvesta!"
Soon the light faded and Larvesta appeared confused before looking at me irritated, "Vesta!"
"I'm sorry Larvesta but we need your help! We ended up biting more than we can chew, but your the only one that can help us out." I said as the girls were slowly being pushed back.
"Vesta…." They weren't interested so I sighed before pulling out a berry, a Figy Berry, a type of berry loved basically by all fire type Pokemon and is one of the main ingredients in making fire type Pokemon food.
"I'll give you a Figy Berry if you help us here." I said to which Larvestas mouth began to water.
"Vesta~" It seemed happy with the deal and nodded before turning around as the five jets of flames surrounding its head shot out allowing it to hover in the air using its flames as jet propulsion.
"Great! Larvesta use Ember and stop more Durants from leaving their colony!" I call out to them.
"Ves-ta!" The charge up a ball of fire before tossing out a fireball that landed on the Durant Colony entrance before charging up more and covering the rest of the entrances to forcibly cut off the nonstop Durant advance.
And with Varvesta on our side it became a one sided beatdown of the remaining Durants who we showed no mercy too as if the Durant population isn't lowered it being this close to our home the chance of them entering our territory is quite high as it stands.
But as I didn't want to gain the hatred of a full on Durant colony all I did was use the system to strip the Durants of their metal outer shells leaving them naked and looking like normal ants.
Though I did catch two of them to keep and stripped the rest of their metal shells we left them be before making our quick escape out of their territory.
With the Durant metal I would say this exciursion was a success, and all it cost me was a Figy Berry to get Larvestas help.
But I didn't know that this attack would attract the actions of Durants natural predators, a tribe of Heatmor from higher up the mountain.
"Mooorrrrr!!!!"
