He said he wanted to give Aiden a piece of information, but he didn't say it right away. Instead, he just kept waiting.
Aiden didn't take the bait. Instead, he said, "Free things usually come with hidden costs."
"What do you want? Or to be more exact, what do you want from me?"
Caleb sat up straight. Even though he was much shorter than Aiden and sitting on the sofa, he didn't feel awkward at all.
He smiled and said, "Mr. Aiden, you're thinking too much. Free things do have invisible costs, but that's only for ordinary people."
"Our trade association just wants your friendship."
"Treating friends, whether it's me, the association, or even the whole Elephant Empire, has always been done without expecting anything in return."
Aiden smiled back, but he didn't believe a word of it.
