"No, they have a blood feud with the Hidden Leaf."
Jiraiya took a sip of sake as he voiced his objection. In the original story, perhaps he felt guilty for teaching those three kids for years and still failing to bring them back to the village.
"I don't agree with that either."
Orochimaru also spoke in his usual slow, relaxed tone.
"You decide."
Tsunade looked at Kawakaze. Although she didn't think this was a good idea, she still chose to support his final decision.
"Don't worry. They're just three kids—they won't cause any trouble."
Of course, Kawakaze would never reveal that Nagato possessed the Rinnegan. Otherwise Orochimaru might have already killed him.The potential threat was too high, and with a blood feud involved, their danger to the Leaf was even greater.
He would never let such a hidden danger live.
Everyone fell silent after that. They just ate their food quietly, each lost in their own thoughts.
The atmosphere grew still.
"Can we have some more?"
Yahiko walked over with an empty bowl. One bowl wasn't nearly enough for three kids.
Kawakaze and the other three all turned their eyes toward him, making Yahiko extremely nervous.
His hand trembled slightly as he held the bowl.
"Of course."
Kawakaze lifted the corner of his mouth into a warm, gentle smile.
He took Yahiko's bowl, filled it again, and added some dry rations on top.
"Thank you, sir."
Yahiko accepted it, bowed, and returned to Nagato and Konan.
Both Nagato and Konan wore surprised expressions. This powerful Leaf ninja seemed… like a decent person.
Kawakaze and his friends continued eating and drinking, while rain still fell outside.
After finishing their meal, Yahiko washed the bowl clean using rainwater.
(Don't tell me it won't get clean without detergent—don't make me angry, geez.)
"Sir, your bowl."
Yahiko returned it politely. He was satisfied with the meal and ready to leave.
But the scene of Kawakaze killing Hanzō was still vivid in his mind, and he felt a deep fear toward him.
He hadn't even considered learning ninjutsu from them yet.
"What are you planning to eat next?"Kawakaze didn't take the bowl. Instead, he stared into Yahiko's eyes—the one who acted as the backbone of the three.
"We'll go look for food when we get hungry."
Yahiko had no energy left to think about what to eat. The fact that all three orphans were still alive was already a blessing.
"Do you want to eat meat every day? Do you want to learn skills?"
"…Think about it."
Yahiko's eyes lit up. This was exactly the life he had always dreamed of.
"And you, little girl—do you want to wear pretty dresses and have many friends?"
Kawakaze gently coaxed her, bypassing Yahiko to ask Konan directly.
Konan glanced timidly at Yahiko before answering softly.
"…Think about it."
"And you, little red-haired devil—do you want to control your own power?"
Kawakaze spoke vaguely, yet Nagato was terrified. Even with his eyes covered, this Leaf ninja saw through him completely.
Yahiko and Konan immediately became alert.
"Kid, only when you control your power can you better protect your brother."
Kawakaze didn't care about their wariness. His tone remained calm. These three were already within his grasp.
He wanted to become the Kawakaze-sensei of the Naruto world.
There were no useless jutsu—only useless ninjas. But he would never accept someone without talent.
"…I think we should."
Nagato thought for a moment, then spoke with determination.
"My name is Chimu Kawakaze. My household has some assets, but I still need a few disciples."
"I wonder if you're willing to come with me?"
When they voiced their agreement, Kawakaze finally revealed his fangs.
Tsunade smiled warmly, feeling like she resembled a thousand-year-old fox.
"Can you guarantee you won't hurt us? Guarantee enough food? And teach us skills?"
Yahiko mustered his courage to ask. He knew that if Kawakaze had ill intentions, they had no power to resist.
"We'll provide food and lodging. And we won't deceive anyone."
Kawakaze didn't hesitate. These were the founders of the future Akatsuki.
Investing now meant unimaginable returns later.
Yahiko looked back at Nagato and Konan. They nodded.
"Kawakaze-sensei, we'll follow you."
"Why call me 'sir'? Just call me teacher."
"And this is your teacher's wife, Tsunade."
Kawakaze openly introduced himself as their teacher.
He placed his hand on Tsunade's shoulder and pulled her close—acting on impulse.
"If you've got nothing to do, then don't do anything."
Tsunade shot a glance at Jiraiya and Orochimaru, only to find them pretending to look at the sky.
Then she pushed Kawakaze away and sat down.
This surprised all three kids. Things seemed to be progressing… very quickly.
"Teacher! Teacher's wife!" ×3
Despite their shock, the three still called out the proper titles, earning a satisfied smile from Kawakaze.
"My name is Yahiko."
"I'm Konan."
"My name is Nagato."
They introduced themselves one by one.
"Hello."
Tsunade smiled. She was long used to being called something similar by Nawaki and Minato.
"Haha, good kids."
"These two are Orochimaru and Jiraiya."
Kawakaze, although pleased, didn't forget to introduce the other two.
Both had stopped pretending to look at the sky, but still maintained Kawakaze's dignity by acting composed.
Finally, he smiled and thanked the three children.
Outside, the rain slowly stopped, and rays of sunlight pierced the lingering clouds.
"It feels great. Let's get going."
Kawakaze stood up, patted his backside, and made no effort to clean the cookware.
"That's fine."
Tsunade and the others had no regrets—after all, the small amount of money they paid had filled their stomachs well.
As the four adults walked out of the bridge tunnel, the three kids couldn't bear to leave the beautiful cookware behind.
One by one, they picked up the utensils and walked to a puddle to wash them.
Yahiko even took responsibility for the hardest parts.Konan and Nagato carried bowls and spoons.
They hurried to catch up with Kawakaze.
Kawakaze turned around and saw the scene. He thought of his own luxurious childhood and couldn't help feeling sorry for them.
He walked to Yahiko and gently patted his short orange hair.
"You won't have to live so hard anymore."
Yahiko looked up, meeting Kawakaze's eyes—and smiled brightly for the first time.
His eyes were clear and full of hope for the future.
Kawakaze thought he shared qualities with Nawaki and Obito.
He believed these kids would become good friends.
"Come on. You have a senior disciple—I'll introduce you."
Kawakaze placed a hand on Yahiko's head and gently pushed him forward.
Yahiko stumbled a bit and walked ahead.
Seeing this, Nagato burst into tears.
He missed his parents.
"Nagato, don't cry."
"Everything will be okay."
"We have a teacher now, right?"
Konan, younger than Nagato, stepped forward to comfort him.
Nagato wiped his tears and nodded.
Bathed in the sunlight, the seven of them began their journey to the Hidden Leaf.
Kawakaze had effortlessly wiped out the Akatsuki from its roots, and he believed he had made a great contribution to the ninja world.
The thought made him burst into laughter.
Tsunade looked at him like he was an idiot, snapping him back to reality.
"I was imagining what our kids would look like."
He leaned close and whispered into Tsunade's ear, making her blush.
What would our children look like, Kawakaze-kun…?
