Chapter 103 - Kikyo Kushida's Plan

"No, do you really understand Yosuke Hirata that well?"

At this moment, Suzune Horikita suddenly became somewhat quiet. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji's sudden analysis made Horikita realize one thing: Ayanokoji likely saw where Yosuke Hirata's problem lay long ago, yet he simply didn't say anything. He had let her busy herself in vain for two weeks, achieving absolutely nothing.

"Ayanokoji, I'll assume for now that what you've said is the truth. Since you've already stated that the class being incomplete no longer holds any meaning for him, then regarding Hirata, what do you mean by 'not difficult' to handle?"

Horikita's attention shifted directly from Subaru to Ayanokoji. "In any case, the fact that the class is no longer complete is already an established reality. If it is truly as you say, won't Hirata feel that the class is meaningless forever?"

Looking at Ayanokoji, Horikita frowned slightly and asked, "Where is the 'not difficult' part?"

In Horikita's view, even if everything Ayanokoji said was true, it didn't mean Hirata's problem was easy to handle or resolve. Or rather, precisely because it was difficult to handle, Horikita felt there must be a deeper reason. And regarding this deeper reason, Subaru might know something.

Simply put, too many things were directly or indirectly related to Subaru. This was also the reason why Horikita was willing to contact Kikyo Kushida and also wanted to guide Subaru.

"Horikita, you haven't noticed Hirata's true transformation," Ayanokoji said calmly, looking at Horikita, who seemed somewhat unconvinced. "Actually, Hirata becoming decadent isn't his first transformation. Haruki Yamauchi's expulsion should be Hirata's second transformation. Hirata's true first transformation should have been before the midterm exams. During that time when Natsuki explicitly stated he would use personal points to expel Haruki Yamauchi."

Since there was a first transformation and a second transformation, in Ayanokoji's view, causing Hirata to undergo a third transformation wasn't a very difficult task. The things Hirata wanted were all laid out in the open. Knowing why Hirata underwent the first and second transformations made the third transformation easily achievable.

"I will deal with Hirata's issue after today's meeting concludes," Ayanokoji stated. "If nothing unexpected happens, there should be corresponding results very soon."

"I think there is only one thing that truly needs to be considered in this meeting: is the self-destruct plan a 'total assault,' or is it merely targeting a specific class?" Subaru ended the topic regarding Hirata and tossed out a new subject.

"Is there a difference between a total assault and targeting a specific class? Even if we target a specific class, we wouldn't target them forever, but rather target them in turns." Horikita was unexpectedly easy to settle. Hearing Subaru's words, she immediately began to think.

Suddenly, Subaru felt a slight itch in his palm. He looked at Kikyo Kushida with a confused expression.

(#^.^#)

Kushida smiled happily at Subaru, but she didn't say much. However, seeing that Subaru noticed her little action, she refocused her attention on Ayanokoji.

'Is she a little nervous?' Subaru looked at Kushida's expression, which seemed as if nothing had happened, and smiled slightly. Although Kushida felt she was hiding it well, Subaru still saw her nervousness—nervous about whether Subaru would reveal her affairs at a time like this.

"Horikita, you're thinking too simply," Ayanokoji said calmly, not giving Horikita time to ponder. "From beginning to end, we only have two routes: go all out to target the other three classes, or target a specific class. As for what Horikita believes—targeting this class first, then that class—that is the worst strategy."

"Going all out represents a long-term goal. Before the school administration reacts, or rather, before they decide to step in and stop it... we minimize the class points of the other classes as much as possible. Perhaps pulling the other classes' points down to the same level isn't quite possible, but making the gap no longer desperate is not a problem."

According to Ayanokoji's vision, if everything went smoothly and the school didn't intervene too quickly, they could absolutely drag the other three classes' points down by 300 to 500 points. They could even focus more energy on the higher-ranked Class A and Class B when Class C's points were low enough to no longer be a threat, reducing Class A and B by five to six hundred points, while optimally reducing Class C by three to four hundred points.

Class C had already done something like this back when they enrolled. When Ayanokoji was messing around with Horikita, he had learned a bit about this information. Otherwise, he wouldn't have given Horikita such an idea.

Back then, Class C perhaps had some scruples about their own reputation. Plus, Class B had gained a certain understanding of the school's nature early on due to Subaru's intelligence, so Class C didn't achieve very good results against Class B. But Class D was completely different now.

Class D had no class points left to deduct; they could engage in a completely suicidal attack. Letting loose and attacking to the death would absolutely achieve the results Ayanokoji predicted.

However, while such a final result would likely be beneficial for advancing the class, it held no practical benefit for individuals. The final class points would still be zero, meaning no personal point income for a long time in the future. Not to mention, there was a high probability of being targeted and regarded with hostility by the other three classes, essentially cutting themselves off from the school's social circles.

"If targeting three classes simultaneously is a long-term goal, then targeting one class is a short-term goal?" Hearing Ayanokoji's analysis, Horikita didn't quite understand. In her view, focusing all efforts on one class to make their points plummet rapidly could serve a deterrent purpose. It would definitely make the targeted class feel fear, and then they could sign a truce agreement.

If they didn't want to continue being targeted by Class D, they would have to give Class D a certain amount of personal points. This way, not only would the point gap between classes narrow, but they could also alleviate Class D's current tight financial situation by extorting personal points from other classes. Subsequent targeting of other classes would definitely be smoother—it was simply killing three birds with one stone.

"Correct. If we execute the second method, we basically give up the possibility of shortening the class gap," Ayanokoji said. He understood very clearly what Horikita was thinking. Having spent two months with Horikita, to put it bluntly, Ayanokoji might understand her a bit better than she understood herself.

"Going all out to target a specific class and making them feel fear can indeed harvest a considerable amount of personal points. But this also has another drawback: it gives the other two classes a chance to react. For any plan, naturally, the more secretive the better; success relies on secrecy."

"Once the other two classes react, although the self-destruct plan remains unsolvable, it will be basically impossible to achieve good combat results. Even if it's an overt conspiracy, it can only exert its maximum power when the opponent is unaware."

To be honest, the quality of the members in Year 1, Class D was uneven. Horikita had organized the self-destruct plan so grandly in the class this morning; by this time, other classes might have already received the news. The subsequent actions naturally needed to be as fast as possible. Ideally, they would finalize the regulations tonight and start working directly tomorrow.

"I see, I roughly understand what you mean." After hearing Ayanokoji's explanation, Horikita nodded in realization and said without any hesitation, "The gain or loss of momentary personal points is completely unimportant; the gap in class points is the most important thing. naturally, we want to shorten the class point gap between Class D and the other classes as much as possible."

Without any hesitation, Horikita chose to directly target the entire grade. Only in this way was there a greater possibility for Class D to become Class A.

As Horikita's voice fell, Kikyo Kushida jumped out with a smile she couldn't suppress on her face. "I also think a more long-term goal is better. After all, if we can't graduate from Class A, it's meaningless. Let's formulate the plan based on targeting the other three classes simultaneously."

Kushida really couldn't hold back. In her view, Horikita was truly digging a pit and jumping into it herself. If Horikita only targeted a specific class, Kushida would have been a bit worried that the degree to which Horikita offended other classes wouldn't be deep enough, and the effect wouldn't be as good as she imagined.

But now, Horikita was actually taking the initiative to target all the classes. Kushida couldn't be happier. Now, she eagerly wished for Horikita's self-destruct plan to be a massive success. The more successful the self-destruct plan was, the more Horikita would be regarded as a thorn in the side by the other three classes.

When the time came for an exam where expulsion might be required, Kushida would only need to coordinate slightly from the inside with the other classes who found Horikita unpleasant. She could definitely make Horikita drop out very easily.

At that time, there would be no one left in this school who knew about her past dark history...

No! There was one more.

Thinking of this, Kushida placed her gaze on Subaru beside her with a smile. 'Subaru...' Looking at Subaru's calm and breezy face, Kushida's heart was somewhat complicated.

To be honest, Kushida asked herself: when she completely put down the mask in her hand inside Subaru's dorm, there was indeed a sense of relaxation she had never felt before. That day, Kushida had truly fallen asleep in Subaru's bed. She slept very comfortably.

It was just... still too unsafe. Subaru didn't touch her at all, and she didn't have any leverage on him; Kushida felt very insecure. If the day came when she got Horikita expelled and she still didn't have leverage on Subaru... even if she was slightly reluctant, Kushida would only feel comfortable if she got Subaru expelled too.

The subsequent matters became simple. Horikita wanted the first plan, Kushida supported Horikita's choice, Ayanokoji didn't care, Kei Karuizawa didn't understand much, and Subaru also didn't care.

Finally, following the first plan, simultaneously launching self-destruct attacks on Classes A, B, and C became the general policy. The intensity of the self-destruct attacks would also vary according to the different class points of each class. After all, even if Class C's points were dragged to zero, it would be meaningless if the losses for Classes A and B weren't significant; the reduction ratio had to be controlled to be consistent.

Therefore, the final result was naturally that Classes A and B would face relatively intense attacks, while Class C, having fewer class points—at least compared to A and B—would face far fewer self-destruct attacks.

By the time everything was more or less discussed, the time had reached nine-thirty. They disbanded directly, each returning to their own home.

Kikyo Kushida was the last to walk out of Ayanokoji's dorm. Looking at the already somewhat empty corridor, Horikita and Kei didn't linger; they went straight into the elevator and returned to their respective floors. But Kushida still had unfinished business.

After closing the door to Ayanokoji's dorm, Kushida went directly to the door of Subaru's dorm. Just as she was preparing to send a message to Subaru, she discovered that the door to his dorm wasn't closed tightly; a small crack had been left open.

"Subaru-kun~ Your door isn't closed tight, you know."

Kushida pulled Subaru's dorm door open directly, then hopped right in. Looking at Subaru sitting at his desk, she smiled. "I'm coming in."

"It's so late, Kikyo-san; aren't you planning to go back and rest yet?" Looking at Kushida, who had come directly into his room and closed the door conveniently, Subaru showed no expression of surprise. He smiled, "Did you come to find me because you have something else you want to say?"

"Hehe, it's not really a big deal~ It's just that I feel Subaru-kun is very smart, so I wondered if Subaru-kun might have noticed something."

Hearing Subaru's voice, Kushida came up to him with a grin and sat directly on the edge of the bed. "Sure enough, Subaru-kun really has been properly keeping the agreement with me all along. You didn't say anything to Horikita-san; I'm simply too happy."

As she spoke, the smile on Kushida's face became increasingly brilliant.
