Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Feeling Heavily Blocked Inside

"Today is truly a beautiful day!" Lumine pulled open the curtains, satisfied as she looked at the bright, sunny street outside.

No matter what, resolving the Dragon Disaster was a weight off her mind.

She just didn't know why, but she still felt a little blocked inside.

"Ugh~ Close the curtains, let me sleep a bit more." Paimon, still lying in bed, seemed not to be fully awake, speaking indistinctly.

"What time is it that you're still sleeping? The sun's already high!" Lumine walked helplessly to Paimon's side and patted her shoulder.

"Let me sleep a bit more, there's nothing to do today anyway." Paimon grumbled and turned over, rolling further into the bed, then continued to snore.

Lumine looked at Paimon, who stubbornly refused to get up, her eyes twinkling, and a smile appeared on her face: "I can't do anything with you. Then, I'll take care of your breakfast."

"Breakfast?! No, no!" Paimon quickly scrambled up and flew to Lumine's side.

It seemed she cared more about food than sleep.

"You don't eat much anyway, how could you eat so much?" Paimon said, grinning.

"Hmph, pack up, we're ready to go," Lumine hummed softly.

"Go? Uh… where?"

"First, we'll eat, then we'll go see Acting Grand Master Jean's speech, then we'll find Venti, and finally we'll find Stelle…" Lumine listed out the tasks one by one.

"Are we really doing so much today?" Paimon's eyes widened.

"Yes, so let's hurry up," Lumine said, exasperated.

She would be very busy today, but the most important thing was actually Venti; she wanted to ask him about her brother.

As the God of this world, Venti might know something.

"But why are you going to find Stelle last? I thought you'd be eager to go first thing in the morning," Paimon asked, confused.

Lumine had been extremely reluctant to part with Stelle yesterday.

"I want to go first thing in the morning too, but I can't disturb her rest. Besides, she still has to deal with renting a house today, so I'll go find her in the afternoon," Lumine sighed.

She didn't know why, but thinking about Stelle made her heart feel even heavier.

It felt as if something important had been taken from her.

Strange, why was she feeling this way?

---

"Well, I'm off," Amber said to Stelle, turning her head after packing her things and confirming everything was in order.

"Be careful on your way, and remember not to overexert yourself on the mission." Stelle nodded at Amber, a gentle smile on her face.

"Of course, but…" Amber looked at Stelle with a grin, "Can I have some encouragement?"

"Encouragement?" Stelle didn't quite understand Amber's meaning, but she quickly caught on.

Amber quickly walked up to her, rising slightly on her tiptoes.

After a long moment…

"I used to only read about this in novels, but doing it myself really feels different," Amber said to Stelle with a smile, licking her lips and blushing.

It was even sweeter than described in novels.

Perhaps it was a psychological effect?

"Seriously…" Stelle helplessly patted her little head.

After what just happened, Amber seemed to have become a bit clingier.

She didn't dislike it, though.

"Alright, Outrider Amber, let's go!" Amber said, then leaped directly from the second-floor window.

This was her habit; when she stayed at home, she often didn't use the main door, preferring to fly down directly from the second floor with her Wind Glider.

Hopefully, her flight license wouldn't be revoked later.

Speaking of which, did she and Lumine even have flight licenses yet?

She had heard Acting Grand Master Jean say they needed to get one, but Stelle herself rarely flew around the city with it. Once she was in the wilderness… who cared if she had a flight license or not?

Watching Amber leave, Stelle also began to consider what she needed to do today.

She had arranged to view houses today through Katheryne and Mr. Goth.

The matter of Stelle moving out had not changed due to her relationship with Amber, as she had already told them early on, and it wouldn't be good to suddenly change her mind.

However, whether Amber would sleep at her rented house or go home later was uncertain.

"Well then… I should get going too." Stelle stretched, planning to head out.

She went downstairs, put on her coat, and locked the door.

Outside, the sun was bright, and the weather looked quite good today.

There was no longer any lingering shadow of the Dragon Disaster, and even more people were on the streets than usual.

Her ears were filled with the joyful laughter of the citizens; it seemed the city had regained its vitality.

This was likely due to Acting Grand Master Jean's speech this morning, which thoroughly explained the entire story of the Dragon Disaster and Stormterror incident to the public.

As Stelle walked, she could still hear many people discussing it.

They all seemed to be lamenting that thanks to the efforts of Acting Grand Master Jean and her team, East Wind Dragon had not parted ways with Mondstadt.

Stelle first went to the Adventurers' Guild. Katheryne was standing there as usual, with a professional smile on her face.

"Ah, Miss Stelle, you're here." Seeing Stelle, Katheryne greeted her politely.

"Good morning, Miss Katheryne." Stelle waved at Katheryne.

"Good morning." Katheryne didn't mind that it was actually already noon, and nodded.

"I'm very sorry, Miss Stelle, Mr. Goth might not be able to make it today."

"Huh?" Stelle was momentarily stunned.

"It seems something happened at Goth Grand Hotel, and Mr. Goth needs to handle it. He entrusted me to express his apologies to you and said that if you come to view the house later, he can give you a certain discount…"

"That's really inconvenient." Stelle sighed. Although she wasn't in a hurry, a discount would be nice. "In that case, please show me the commissions."

She knew the saying about eating through one's savings, so she couldn't stop taking commissions.

"Just pick the one with the highest Reward for me."

"Hmm… then, how about this one?" Katheryne took a page from the wooden board behind her.

"Ugh, only this much Mora?" Stelle looked down, frowning slightly.

"High-Reward commissions are usually accompanied by danger, but with the Dragon Disaster over, the monsters are no longer as active as before, so there haven't been any particularly high-Reward commissions recently," Katheryne patiently explained to Stelle.

"So this is already the highest?"

"Yes, it's the highest commission Reward these days."

"Then I'll take this one." Stelle sighed, accepting the commission.

Although it wasn't much money, one thing was good: the client was at the Westwind Church, and the specifics were to be discussed in person, but it probably wouldn't require leaving the city.

"Thanks, Katheryne." Holding the commission slip, Stelle headed towards the church.
