Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Don't Rush In

"You are..." Lumine looked at the Damselette in front of her, involuntarily raising her eyebrows.

She had anticipated that there might be someone with Star, but she hadn't expected it to be someone she didn't know.

But no matter what, everyone who appeared by Star's side was worth being wary of.

"H-hello, Honorary Knight, my name is Barbara, a Deaconess of the Westwind Church." Barbara nervously bowed slightly to Lumine.

She didn't know why she felt a strange sense of guilt, as if she was doing something bad with Star and had been caught.

"Oh—" Lumine drew out the sound, her mind starting to recall if she had heard that name anywhere before.

Paimon, however, recognized the Damselette before her:

"You're that Idol from Mondstadt, Miss Barbara??"

Hearing Paimon's reminder, Lumine also remembered.

Earlier, they had taken a quest from Sister Victoria, who said there was a man named Albert who was constantly lurking around the Westwind Church, and she didn't know what he was doing. Sister Victoria, lacking direct evidence, couldn't call the Knights of Favonius.

So Sister Victoria found the two of them, hoping they could drive Albert away.

They naturally accepted the quest without hesitation, thinking Albert truly intended to harm someone. But in the end, that guy was just a fan of Barbara, constantly loitering around the Church just to catch a glimpse of Miss Barbara.

Lumine was speechless at the time. In the end, she ignored Albert's demands and directly chased him away.

She also conveniently used Anemo to clear the fallen leaves near the Church and received praise from Sister Victoria.

"Idol?" Star was slightly startled when she heard this familiar word.

So even a place like Teyvat had a profession like an Idol...

She had thought it was a word that would only appear in modern society.

"I wouldn't dare call myself an Idol," Barbara smiled shyly. She was working towards that direction, but for now, she just wanted to bring smiles to everyone with her singing.

"No, no, it's a legend circulating in Mondstadt that 'as long as you see Miss Barbara, your mood will improve,' right, Lumine?" Paimon waved her hand; this was not an exaggeration at all.

"Mm," Lumine nodded, although her mood hadn't improved much upon seeing Barbara at this moment and in this place.

"Speaking of which, Miss Barbara, why are you here?" Lumine looked at Barbara, asking the question she cared about most.

"Uh, I..." Barbara was a little embarrassed, her cheeks turning slightly red.

How should she explain to the Honorary Knight? That she was momentarily possessed and accidentally walked in?

"I had a nightmare and wasn't feeling well, so Miss Barbara came to help me relieve it," Star smiled, explaining for Barbara.

After all, she knew her own constitution, and this couldn't be blamed on Barbara.

Besides, she didn't care that much anyway, and Barbara had actually helped her.

"Oh, I see. Star, are you alright now?" Paimon flew to Star's side, asking with concern.

"Mm, thanks to Barbara, I'm much better now," Star reached out and pulled Paimon into her arms, stroking her small head.

"I didn't really do anything..." Barbara quickly waved her hand, while giving Star a grateful look.

"No, I still have to thank you," Lumine looked at Star, then at Barbara, and then showed a gentle smile.

She knew there were still things she didn't know, but since Star was helping to conceal them, she wouldn't pursue it.

"No... it's nothing," Barbara looked at Lumine hesitantly. The Honorary Knight's tone felt a little strange.

"Well, if there's nothing else, I'll head back now. There's a Church activity tonight." Barbara stood up, preparing to leave.

This room wasn't big; there was only one table and chair in total. With her sitting on that chair, Lumine didn't even have a place to sit.

"Miss Star, if similar situations happen again in the future, please be sure to come find me," Barbara said to Star as she reached the door, hesitating for a moment before turning around.

"Mm, I will," Star nodded with a smile.

--------

Knights of Favonius office, Jean had returned and started dealing with work.

Barbara had told her to rest well today, but for Jean, a few hours of rest was almost a whole day, which was already very good.

She felt her energy had recovered very well, so naturally, there was no reason to continue lying down.

Mondstadt was still under the threat of Stormterror; she couldn't relax for too long.

"However..." Jean paused her work slightly, slowly sighing.

She wondered how Star was doing; should she go check on her?

The Knights of Favonius dormitory's conditions were too simple, after all. If Star agreed to go to her house, that would be great; it wasn't far at all.

"Never mind, I'll go check the situation first," Jean slowly stood up.

Anyway, the work on hand wasn't particularly urgent, and taking a little extra time to entertain a guest was also a part of the Knights of Favonius's duties.

However, just as she stepped out of her office door, Barbara also happened to arrive at the entrance.

"Sister, have you rested well?" Barbara was slightly startled and quickly stepped forward, looking at her sister and asking.

"Mm, it's enough," Jean nodded, but seeing her sister's somewhat conflicted expression, she quickly added, "I won't be working too late today, don't worry."

"It's good that Sister knows. I'll come supervise you tonight," Barbara nodded, saying with satisfaction.

"Speaking of which, where did you go just now?" Jean hadn't seen Barbara when she returned, thinking Barbara had already gone back to the Westwind Church, but the direction she came from just now seemed to suggest otherwise.

"I... just went to see Miss Star," Barbara's tone was a little strange, and her eyes suddenly started to dart around.

Actually, she hadn't just gone to see her; she had been in Star's room for almost the entire afternoon.

"Has Miss Star woken up?" Jean keenly noticed the abnormality in her sister's expression, but she didn't pay much attention to it.

"Mm, she woke up a while ago, and the Honorary Knight is back now too."

"Is that so...?" Hearing what Barbara said, Jean's brows furrowed slightly.

If the Honorary Knight was back—didn't that mean those two were alone together?

Jean pursed her lips, and her heart suddenly felt a little heavy.

"Barbara, you go back and rest too. I'll go see Miss Star."

"Huh? Okay..."

Barbara looked at her sister's departing figure, confused. She inexplicably felt that her sister seemed to have become a little strange for a moment just now.

"Never mind, I won't overthink it. I should go back first." Barbara shook her head. She hadn't lied to Star and Lumine just now; the Church indeed had an important activity tonight.

"I wonder if Miss Star will come to find me again in the future..."
