They walked around in comfortable silence for a while with no destination in mind. Cameron showed him his favorite quiet spot in the botany garden, the lab window where he'd spent most of his summer. He was showing Aaron his map, the one he'd built for himself. And Aaron was paying attention to every part of it.
As they passed the student union, a voice called out. "Cameron! Hey!"
Leah hurried over, books in her arms. She noticed Aaron and paused. "Oh, hi! I'm Leah."
"Aaron," he said, offering a brief, polite nod. Cameron noticed the shift… the public version of him.
"Aaron's… a friend from the city," Cameron said. "He was in town for business."
"Cool, cool," Leah said, her gaze flicking between them clearly putting pieces together. "Well, don't let me interrupt the time together. Cameron, don't forget about our project meeting tomorrow! Bye!" She shot Cameron a look that said we are talking about this later, and walked off.
