Lin Tian woke with Bai Xueya pressed against him, her breath slow, her hand resting on his side as if it belonged there. He stayed still for a moment, and he watched her face, and he tried to hold on to the quiet while it lasted.
She shifted, her lashes fluttered, and her eyes opened halfway, then focused on him.
"You are staring again," she muttered, voice rough with sleep, and she did not pull away.
Lin Tian swallowed and kept his tone steady. "I woke up first, and you looked tired, so I checked if you were fine."
Xueya's mouth curved slightly, and she looked like herself for a heartbeat, not the cold figure people loved to fear. "That excuse is not good," she said, then she moved closer until her forehead almost touched his shoulder. "If you want to look at me, just say it, I do not like weak lies."
Lin Tian let out a small breath and nodded once. "Fine, I wanted to look at you, and I did not want to wake you."
