A list of sigils stretched out before him—thousands of them, shimmering in the dim light of the interface.
In the early game, obtaining even a single sigil was a monumental task. Whether found in the open world or earned through quests, they were almost always guarded by something powerful. Securing three sigils this early was an incredible haul, but it was also a potential disaster. If chosen poorly, they could ruin a player's build forever. This was the "Dark Mark" for most players: with limited knowledge and such a massive list, most simply chose sigils with dominant-sounding names and flashy skills.
"I need at least five sigils to unlock a class," he muttered, his eyes scanning the endless rows. "Getting three now is a life-changer, but I have to pick the first one quickly to stop this countdown."
His eyes locked onto a specific icon.
[Galvanic Vigour Converter] Rank I — Extraordinary Tier
Effect: A rare sigil that bridges the gap between physical endurance and elemental fury. It allows the user to burn Stamina as a fuel source for Thunder-type damage, bypassing the need for a Mana pool.
This was an incredible find. Converting stamina to elemental damage was a rare feat for a Rank I sigil. Usually, such utility was reserved for Epic tiers. Furthermore, Thunder was the most versatile element, effective against almost any target, living or non-living.
Ordinary -> Extraordinary -> Epic -> Unique->Legendary -> Mythical.
most player don't know the ranking of the sigils, and they choose randomly from the list without any prior knowledge of anything at the start of the game. And at the selection screen i can find a hidden gem if I search properly.
"This will be my first sigil " he decided, tapping the icon.

"One right choice down," he whispered. "Starting with Thunder gives me the edge I need. Now, I just need to find something compatible."
As he searched, his heart skipped a beat. He found a sigil that didn't just complement his first choice—it amplified it.
[Calamity Omen Multiplier] Rank I — Extraordinary Tier Effect: Increases all attack damage by 10%. Grants a low-probability chance to trigger 'Omen Damage' (50% to 299% bonus). At peak resonance, may apply 'Bad Omen,' leading to instant target collapse.
The base stats were good, but the "Omen" attribute made it a potential game-breaker. If paired with another Omen-related sigil, this could jump directly to the Epic tier. When Omen damage is triggered, it boosts damage by 50%, with a rare ceiling of 299%. But the real power lay in the "Bad Omen" debuff, which could result in an instant kill depending on the user's strength.

"Thunder for elemental scaling without mana, and Omen for massive multipliers," he analysed. "Now for the final piece of the puzzle."
He spent several minutes filtering the list, looking for a synergy that would tie his build together. Suddenly, he froze.
[Dream-Soul Breaker (Rank I - Unique/Legacy)] Effect: Enter the dreams of a sleeping target to shatter their mentality. Power is proportional to the user's Mentality stat. Further evolution is possible.
He stared at the description, his breath catching in his throat. Most players would ignore this, dismissing it as a niche, limited utility skill with no "flashy" combat power.
But he knew better. This wasn't just a game-changer; it was a fate-changer.
'A Unique grade...' he thought, his hands trembling. 'In my previous life, finding a Unique grade sigil—even in the late game—was like searching for a needle in a cosmic haystack. To find one here, at the very start...'
This sigil shouldn't even be on this list. This sigil couldn't even be found in the game world—it was usually a bloodline-locked trait reserved for the "Dreamwalker" clans.
It was a part of the infamous "Curse Sigil" series—powers so terrifying that at their peak evolution, they were feared even by the Demigod clans. They were capable of slaying a Demigod in their sleep, leaving the waking world without a single trace of the murderer.
To the average player, "shattering mentality" sounded weak compared to a meteor strike or a dragon's breath. But with the knowledge of his past life, he knew this was the most lethal power in the entire selection.
"I'm taking it," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "Even if it doesn't fit the 'class' combination... I have to have this."
