Chapter 113 - Bugs Bunny

"Come on! Witness the might of Mondstadt's top Hunter!"

Elliot let out a strange cry, performing a standard (in his opinion) toad-like leap, landing on all fours, precisely pouncing in front of a giant pit. His posture looked less like a Hunter and more like he was performing some mysterious sacrificial dance.

"Heh heh, tonight we're upgrading our meal, having some wild game to satisfy our cravings!"

As he spoke, he confidently stretched his entire arm into the dark hole, fumbling around, his face beaming with the joy of "extra food tonight."

Zane, standing beside him with his arms crossed, frowned deeply, staring at the cave, and muttered, "That's strange..."

"What's strange?"

Lumine curiously leaned closer.

"This rabbit hole..."

Zane gestured at the size of the hole's entrance, his tone full of confusion.

"Isn't it a bit too big? Conservatively estimated, you could fit your entire body inside with room to spare. What kind of rabbit would this be? I'm afraid it might be several times larger than Paimon?"

Paimon immediately stomped her feet in the air in protest: "Hey! Why are you comparing me again?!"

Just then, a lazy, slightly nasal, and utterly unfamiliar voice came from below:

"What's up, doc?"

Zane was engrossed in studying the rabbit hole and subconsciously replied, "Catching rabbits, you..."

He abruptly stopped, realizing—this voice was one they had never heard before!

He stiffly lowered his head, only to see a... very peculiar "rabbit" standing by the entrance of the hole, he didn't know when it got there.

It had gray fur all over, stood upright on two feet, and its height (including its iconic long ears) was almost as tall as Lumine.

It was casually leaning against a rock, holding a half-eaten carrot, chewing it while sizing them up with a playful and composed gaze.

"Holy crap..."

Even the usually calm Zane couldn't help but blurt out the two words that best expressed his feelings at that moment.

He recognized it!

This art style, this demeanor, this carrot!

It was that legend who existed in the two-dimensional world!

"How do you do, folks."

The rabbit elegantly tipped an imaginary hat, even though it wasn't wearing one.

"I'm Bugs Bunny."

It spread its hands, its tone a mix of helplessness and nonchalance: "I was planning to go on vacation to Hawaii, but it seems... I took a slight wrong turn. But then again."

It looked around at Mondstadt's verdant plains and the majestic city in the distance, taking a bite of its carrot.

"This place looks pretty good too!"

Lumine stared at this rabbit, which was not much shorter than herself, could speak human language, and possessed a calmer demeanor than most Mondstadter, completely falling silent.

Her brain struggled to process the information before her: A rabbit... turned into a spirit?

Or was this some new type of Abyssal monster?

But it looked... completely harmless, even possessing a leisurely air that was almost asking for a beating.

"By the way, where is this place?"

Bugs Bunny shook the carrot in its hand, asking Zane, who was clearly the leader (?).

"The way you got here is truly beyond absurd..."

Jesse held his forehead, letting out a heartfelt sigh.

"Welcome to the continent of Teyvat, Mondstadt region. This... is not Earth."

"Oh—! No wonder!"

Bugs Bunny suddenly understood, tapping its head with the carrot, making a classic "I see" expression.

"I kept wondering why the map didn't quite match up, and the GPS was completely out of order. Turns out I wasn't even in the service area!"

It showed no panic about crossing worlds; instead, it observed its surroundings with even greater interest: "Teyvat? Mondstadt? Sounds interesting. So, folks, is there anything fun to do here? Or... any particularly delicious varieties of carrots?"

"Then I must properly introduce you to Mondstadt's specialty dish—Carrot Honey Glazed Meat! The flavor, tsk tsk, the sweet freshness of carrots paired with the rich mellowness of meat juice..."

Elliot instantly transformed into a food guide, slinging his arm over Bugs Bunny's shoulder (though the height was a bit awkward), enthusiastically describing it, and the two wildly different characters actually chatted animatedly.

Lumine watched this strange yet harmonious scene, quietly approaching Jesse, Zane, and Matt, lowering her voice to ask, "Do you... know that rabbit?"

"It's more than just knowing him..."

Zane pushed up his non-existent glasses, his tone filled with a complex mix of awe and reverence, as if facing a "natural enemy."

"This one is one of the founding fathers of comedic anime characters in our world, a living legend."

Jesse, arms crossed, added solemnly, "Exactly. To put it bluntly, even if the four of us banded together, using all our resources and comedic abilities to fight him, we'd probably end up being sold by him and still cheerfully help him count the money. He can use a single carrot and a few witty remarks to trap you in a logical black hole, making you doubt your very existence."

"Ah?! Is... is he that amazing?!"

Paimon shrank back in fear, her small face filled with disbelief.

In her opinion, the quartet was already quite capable of causing trouble (and fighting), yet they rated a rabbit so highly?

"Yes, his 'strength' isn't in power, but here."

Zane pointed to his head, a helpless expression on his face.

"First, his disguise skill can no longer be called a 'skill'; it's practically a law-level ability. Even if he just casually puts on a hat, sticks on a small mustache, or even just changes his accent, your brain's recognition system will automatically judge him as another completely unrelated person, utterly unable to see through it."

"And in psychological warfare."

Jesse took over, his tone filled with genuine "admiration."

"Bugs Bunny is practically invincible. He always anticipates your anticipation, resolves crises in the most unexpected ways, and always maintains that infuriating composure."

"You rage, he leisurely munches on carrots;

You set a trap, he casually uses it to trick you back;

You think you've won, only to find the prize is a brick..."

"He can drag any opponent into his rhythm, then defeat you with his rich experience."

Matt nodded, summarizing, "Anyway, as far as I know, apart from a certain female brown bear, I've never seen anyone truly get the better of him. Others, including us, had best steer clear of him, or... like Elliot, try to befriend him."

After listening, Paimon looked at Bugs Bunny, who was already arm-in-arm with Elliot, discussing whether to open a carrot-themed restaurant in Mondstadt. She silently moved him to the top of her "absolutely must not provoke" list, even higher than "Zane when he's angry."
