Rain's POV:
Light presses gently against my eyes.
I don't open them right away.
I feel the dawn creep inside me, moving through me, my body basking in it.
The bed feels larger than it should, expansive and soft, and I stay like that until I'm almost drunk on the mellow heat.
My body is heavy, like it's been rearranged overnight and hasn't quite decided how to settle back in.
When I finally move, something inside me answers , a low ache, a slow, deliberate pulse. Not pain exactly.
More like an echo that lingers after sound has faded.
I lie there, breathing, letting it pass through me.
Pieces drift up without order.
Hands.
Heat.
The way closeness turned into something else.
The things I did.
The things he did.
The things we did together, folding into one another until it was hard to tell where one ended and the other began.
An intimate punishment, that's what it felt like.
I turn slightly, trying to ease the ache between my legs.
That's when I feel him.
