Keith desperately crawled towards a pile of rubble which his mother was trapped under. He was full of adrenaline. He ignored the fires set a blaze by the impact and he also ignored his injuries which were very servere. Every inch he crawled desperately just added an inch to the trail of thick blood being left behind.
"Why?"
He questioned the truth lurking beneath his own thoughts.
"Why an I doing all this for her, a person I barely met? Normally I would only look after myself. I want to crawl the other direction and save my own skin but instead I'm walking towards her. Could I have somehow inherit Keith's emotions just as I inherited his body and memories? No, it's more like this body is instinctively acting on its own, trying to ensure the safety of his mother. I need to somehow stop this or else I'm only gonna end up dead. Stop moving damn it,it's no longer your body so stop!"
He tried with everything that he had to change his fate but his efforts were futile
"Damn it .If this keeps up I'm dead."
As he crawled he began quickly thinking of a way to avoid the shackles of endless suffering. Every time he moved his hands to grab a pile of rocks and pull himself further towards his mother the heat got more intense. Eventually it vegan to deal as if he was at the depth of hell.when he grabbed another pile of rocks this time with his other hand, they broke off and rolled down and rested on his body further damaging it. He released a cry that fractured the stillness like glass.
The pain helped him regain control of his body. Although his body started to respond to his demands he barely had any energy left. He laid on the ground face up and gave up on struggling to survive. He lifted his gaze to the cloudless, star-laden sky, its cold brilliance indifferent to his fate. The night felt impossibly vast, stretching far beyond his final breath. As he stood in its silent glow, he felt no fear—only a strange calm—as though the universe itself waited with him for the end.
"I didn't think that dying again will be peaceful."
"Don't give up,come on get up,get out of here and keep living, don't you dare die,not while your still so young."
Pinned beneath the wreckage, his mother's breaths came thin and trembling. Dust clung to her lashes as she reached for him, eyes shining with fading light.
"Live... Even without me."
she whispered, each word a breaking thread. The ruins groaned around them, but her voice—soft, fragile—cut deeper than the falling stones. This was the first time Keith ever heard this words. In his previous life all everyone wanted from him was to use him to get fame and live a luxurious life.
"Why am I crying?"
"Promise me that you will live."
"I'm sorry but I can't make that promise."
Just as he had given up all hope he started hearing footsteps and voices.
"Help! Someone help me please!"
He uttered these words with all the strength he had left. The footsteps kept coming closer and the voice became more clearer. Eventually he started seeing figures appearing from the abyss. He let out ha huge gasp which signified relief. He knew he was saved.
"What's your name kid?"
"It's Keith."
"Don't worry everything is going to be alright.Hey Atlas!"
"Yes boss?"
"Take care of this kid, will you?"
"Alright boss."
Keith looked at the woman with sorrowful eyes and whispered
"Help her."
She leaned forward so she could here him better
"Pardon."
"Save her."
He said this again this time pointing towards the rubble
"Boss I think there is someone there."
She says as the casts a green spell over Keith which relieves him of his pain and patches him up slowly but surely however, this spell could not help him recover his strength
Another man who was sent to look after Keith's mother spoke
"Boss I'm afraid her injuries are too serious. She won't be able to walk for the rest of her life."
"Is that so,tough luck. Well you know what to do."
The other man draws out a sword and aims it at her head
"Wait what are you.."
The other man swings his sword and ends up killing her mother. Seconds later,Keith passes our from exhaustion
