Chapter 39 - The Yonko Begin to Move!

Chapter 39 — The Yonko Begin to Move!

"Ten billion?!!!"

"And every year?!"

Sengoku's roar was loud enough to shake the entire rooftop of Marine Headquarters!

"Akira!!"

"How dare you ask for something so outrageous!!"

"Even if we sold the entire Marine organization, it wouldn't reach that amount!!"

Beside him, Vice Admiral Tsuru could only rub her forehead with a deep sigh.

This man called Akira…

He squeezed three billion out of Donquixote Doflamingo, and now he dared to demand ten billion from the Marines.

What kind of creature was he?

"Don't get so worked up, Fleet Admiral."

Back in Dressrosa, Akira casually pulled the Den Den Mushi away from his ear, as if avoiding a mosquito's buzzing.

He didn't look bothered at all.

In fact, he even glanced sideways at Gion—whose beautiful face had turned bright red all the way to the tips of her ears.

"The price is negotiable."

"Especially because…"

Akira grinned wide.

"The cost of 'training' Vice Admiral Peach Rabbit here… is very high."

"You…!!"

Gion trembled—so furious she finally snapped!

Clang!!

The Famous Blade Konpira flashed free of its sheath, infused with a fierce blast of Haki as she slashed straight at Akira!

CLANG!!

Akira didn't even lower the Den Den Mushi.

He simply raised his other hand—and with just two fingers, he effortlessly caught the furious strike in place.

"See?" Akira said calmly into the snail.

"She's very energetic. Her energy consumption is enormous."

"You bastard!!"

On the other end, Sengoku was seconds away from suffering a stroke.

He inhaled sharply.

"One billion a year! That is the Marine's greatest show of goodwill!!"

"Five billion," Akira replied flatly.

"Fleet Admiral, a prime New World location that can host a permanent Admiral—this price is completely fair."

"1.5 billion!! Not a single Berry more!! Otherwise the deal is off!"

Sengoku's voice cracked at the edges—his patience was at its limit.

"Three billion."

Akira pretended to ponder it.

"Take it or leave it."

"Besides, Green Bit has nice scenery. Plenty of space."

"I could take my time 'training' with Vice Admiral Gion there comfortably."

"You—!!"

Sengoku nearly choked on sheer frustration.

He took a deep, long breath.

He knew Akira was deliberately inflating the price to absurd heights.

But the Marines NEEDED a legitimate foothold in the New World.

And Dressrosa's position was too strategic—too important—to lose.

"Two billion!!"

Sengoku gritted his teeth so hard they almost cracked.

"Every year!!"

"And the Marines will have unrestricted sailing rights around Dressrosa's waters!!"

"Green Bit must have full operational autonomy!!"

Akira's lips curled.

That price was already within the range he wanted.

"Fine."

What he truly wanted was not the money—

but the Marines' official presence right next to his territory.

Once they moved in, there were MANY creative ways to drain more Berry from them.

"Oh, right."

Akira added casually.

"Don't forget, Fleet Admiral—send one beautiful female officer along with the Admiral delivering the money."

"If she's ugly, I'll be annoyed."

"She must be at least as pretty as Vice Admiral Gion."

"GET LOST!!!!"

BANG!!

Sengoku slammed the call shut with a violent smash!

His fist came crashing down—

turning the Den Den Mushi and part of the desk into flying splinters.

...

Dressrosa.

Akira casually tossed the Den Den Mushi back to Gion.

She caught it with trembling hands—her face shifting between pale and beet-red, a mix of humiliation and fury tightening her expression.

"All done," Akira muttered to himself, stretching his shoulders.

"A steady income of two billion a year… that's basically twenty more gacha pulls for free."

"And once the Marines settle here, I can start developing real estate projects, collect taxes… There are plenty of ways to take money from them."

Akira looked relaxed—clearly in a great mood.

But he also understood one thing very well:

"By throwing the New World into chaos like this…"

"The Revolutionary Army, the Yonko, and the Marines…"

"They'll all come looking for me soon."

His gaze sharpened, like steel being tempered in fire.

"If I want the entire world to pay tribute to me…"

"Then I need power—overwhelming power."

"I have to accelerate it even more… this Layer Stacking."

He turned, ready to return to the villa.

Behind him, Vice Admiral Peach Rabbit Gion stood frozen in place.

Her beautiful face was stiffened by shame, anxiety, and something akin to despair.

She didn't move.

"Old man Sengoku…"

Gion shivered inwardly.

"Just now, during the call…"

"He didn't even mention bringing me back?!"

"Does that mean… he's leaving me here?"

"Am I… part of the 'rental fee' he offered that man?"

A crushing sense of abandonment made her chest tighten.

She felt discarded by the Marines.

She had nowhere to return to.

And her warship wouldn't dare leave Dressrosa without the Fleet Admiral's command.

Was she… really just a trophy left behind for this shameless monster?

Gion bit her lip, cheeks burning with anger and humiliation.

All she could do was carry her crushed pride back toward the villa, following Akira like a shadow.

Back at the villa.

Akira noticed Gion lingering awkwardly near the entrance.

"Hey, Vice Admiral Peach Rabbit."

He pointed toward the wide-open master bedroom door.

"Why are you just standing there?"

"Want to join the Layer Stacking training?"

"You've got talent. I can make you strong—stronger than ever."

"Keep dreaming!!"

Gion snapped, drawing her sword in reflex!

"I will NEVER join you!"

"Whatever you want."

Akira shrugged lazily.

"But sooner or later, you'll start feeling jealous."

"And when you're begging me to let you join later… don't complain if the rhythm no longer suits you."

He didn't spare her another glance.

Akira walked into the master bedroom.

Bang!

The door shut behind him.

Moments later—

Dang! Dang! Dang!!

That familiar "training" rhythm returned.

Gion sat alone in the vast living room, forced to endure every sound echoing through the villa.

Her face turned scarlet again, her ears burning.

She stood there the entire day…

Trapped between embarrassment, helplessness, and simmering frustration.

Meanwhile.

Akira's "summons" had spread.

Through Doflamingo's underground network—

a web spanning all corners of the world—

Within a single day, the message reached every corner of the New World.

And the sea…

exploded into uproar.

The New World, somewhere on the open sea.

Aboard the Moby Dick.

"Gurararara…"

Whitebeard's booming laughter shook the entire deck.

He tossed the intel paper aside.

"Kaido's son-in-law? Took over Joker's turf?"

"And now he demands I personally come to Dressrosa to 'sign a contract'? Gurarara!"

"Dad."

Marco the Phoenix landed beside him, brows creased.

"This guy is ridiculously arrogant."

"Gurararara…"

Whitebeard gulped down a massive drink.

"Interesting."

His eyes shone with a frigid gleam.

"I want to see it for myself."

"That brat Akira…"

"What kind of strength does he really have?"

Whole Cake Island — Totto Land.

"Mamamamamama!!"

Charlotte Linlin—BIG MOM—shoved a gigantic cake slice into her mouth.

"Dressrosa?!"

"That place is one of Mama's most important transit hubs!"

Her eyes glowed with greedy menace.

"He dares interfere with Mama's food trade?!"

"Refusing to pay protection money was already annoying—BUT NOW HE'S DEMANDING MONEY FROM US?!"

"Perospero! Katakuri!!"

"Gather Mama's armada!!"

The massive Empress of Totto Land stood up, overwhelming like a moving mountain.

"You go to Dressrosa and ask him yourselves!!"

"If he refuses to pay tribute…"

"That brat Akira—"

"We're going to WAR!!"

The Red Force.

"Hahahahahahaha!!"

Shanks nearly doubled over, laughing uncontrollably as he held the intel paper.

"That guy! He always makes the wildest headlines!"

"Boss."

Benn Beckman approached, cigarette between his fingers.

"He's provoking the entire world at once."

"A monopoly over shipping routes? We don't rely much on transit anyway… not a big concern for us."

Shanks waved dismissively.

"Yasopp!"

"Here, Boss!"

"Send him a message."

"Tell him the Red Hair Pirates don't need his permission to sail anywhere."

Shanks suddenly smiled with "nuclear benevolence."

"But!"

"If he helps me find my 'Gryphon'…"

"Then he can drink with us as much as he wants!"

He lowered his sake bottle—his expression instantly dark.

"Seriously… where did that sword disappear to?"

Wano Kuni — Onigashima.

"Worororororo!!"

Kaido held his large gourd of sake, scanning the report with a thunderous laugh.

"That shameless brat!!"

"You've grown bold—huh?! You think you're hot stuff now!!"

"You even dare threaten ME?!"

"Boss."

King, the wildfire, stood beneath the throne.

"Do you want me to go capture him?"

"For what?"

Kaido guzzled another drink, speaking with open disdain.

"Wano is closed. Goods from outside don't matter much."

Then he looked down at King with a remark that was practically explosive.

"And King."

"You're not his match anymore."

"He could beat you with one hand."

"…"

King froze.

"Worororororo!!"

Kaido laughed even harder.

He was thoroughly entertained.

"That brat won't threaten ME."

"But if he gives Big Mom and Whitebeard trouble…"

"Worororororo!!"

"He really is an excellent son-in-law!!"

Kaido made up his mind—

He would keep drinking and enjoy the show.

Meanwhile.

Germa 66.

Vinsmoke Judge read the report with narrowing eyes.

"Dressrosa. A new king of the underworld."

"Hmph… send someone to investigate."

"Our weapons business must not be interfered with."

Finally—

The Revolutionary Army Headquarters — Baltigo.

"Lord Dragon."

Sabo held the summons received from Doflamingo.

"Two billion for an entire shipment of Sea Stone? That's manageable."

"But he insists you come personally…"

"That's clearly a trap."

"No."

Monkey D. Dragon rose to his feet—

the wind around him swirling faintly, cape billowing with pressure.

His deep gaze turned toward the distant direction of Dressrosa.

A classified report from Marine intelligence had just arrived.

"According to our informants…"

Dragon's voice was heavy.

"This time he didn't summon just us."

"He also blackmailed the Marines."

"And provoked the Yonko."

"That boy…"

"Is intriguing."

"This time…"

"I'll go myself."
