When I write this chapter, I realized a huge mistake I make in the previous chapter, Dolkka and Laggia were not Dinosaur at all, so I hope you guys ignore it.
But seriously can you blame me? Who would use them outside dino deck, their xyz material says clearly it requires 2 dinosaur monsters to summon them, yet they are still dragon.

3rd POV:
"Ryuji! Wake up, the class is over." Ryuji slowly open his eyes to see Dextra stand beside his desk with a notebook on her hands full of note about the lesson.
*Yawn* "Next time I have to take a pillow with me." Ryuji says as he massages his shoulder a little.
"Hehe, in this school only you can sleep open like that without worry about the teacher."
The current school they're attend to is not Heartland Academy in the anime, but a primary school built under Mr.Heartland name, the three of them only 8 years old now and have to wait until they're 12 to get to the academy.
The reason why Ryuji can sleep freely in the class is because he took first place in both theory and practice exam when they attend. Theory is just some simple math, physic, etc... the most noteworthy thing is history. Most of it is about the first generation of Yu-Gi-Oh like some legendary figure like Pegasus or Yugi Muto, how xyz monsters and synchro exist.
(Yes, synchro did exist in Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal. It's just that nearly no duelist uses them, but some still use card that mentioned synchro like Lightserpent from Kaito deck.)
The practice exam is just a bunch of kids duel together to find the champion, Ryuji easily take the first place without his Evolzar, Nistro is second and Dextra is the third. Each of the top four get to choose one xyz monster as a reward.
When I duel with Nistro at the last round, dude tries to summon his ace only to be negate by my Solemn Judgement. Now he stacks his deck with three Royal Decree and three Counter Counter saying something like "Only by using magic could I defeated magic! To prevent the fall of humanity I must destroy all hell duelist in this world by using my own traps!". Truly admirable.
(The practice exam only applies for student who want to go to Duel Academy.)
"Talk about Nistro where is he?" Ryuji ask in confused since Nistro always the one who will drag him out of the class the moment the bell rang.
Dextra don't say anything, she silently points her finger at the corner of the class, Ryuji turn his head over only to see Nistro with their math teacher sitting together, Nistro is full of tear when he looks at Ryuji and Dextra calling for help.
Ryuji ignore him and take Dextra out of the class "Let's go, I'm a bit hungry." Both of them then walk to the cafeteria under Nistro despair eyes.

"So, after school we will go to the academy to receive our xyz card?" Ryuji ask and then took a bite of his burger.
"Yep, Mr.Heartland will give us the xyz monster he promises before and let his people give us a guide though the academy." Dextra say as she read the message on her phone, which was bought for her by Mr.Heartland, Ryuji and Nistro also have one, but he turns off all his notification and rarely check his message.
When they were talking, they hear a shout from afar "Ryuji! Dextra! You two betrayals!"
"What? Isn't it because I want the best for you? You nearly got refuse to get into school because you fail the attend exam, if not for Mr.Heartland and your duel skill then don't even think about getting here." Ryuji say, completely ignore Nistro resentful eyes.
"By the way after the school end go with us to the academy to receive our xyz cards, you are eyeing that Heroic Champion - Excalibur long ago, doesn't it?" Ryuji say uninterested, Excalibur when it's first release is a good card, even if it's required two level 4 warrior monsters, he can just add two normal warriors in his deck and use Rescue Rabbit to summon them.
2000 atk and can double when attack is never a bad thing but Excalibur in anime have a huge drawback, it can only attack when you have 500 LP or less! That's so dumb and too much effort to summon something that completely shut down by any trap card and can only attack when you basically near dead.
(Well, I guess that how ace monster in anime work all the time. Like San say "I don't get why people don't use their full power from the beginning")
"Tch! You don't have to say everything into my face." Nistro say with a little embarrassed.
Just when Ryuji and Dextra want to continue teasing him the bell rang.
"If I remember correctly the last class is PE, right?"
Nistro answer Ryuji with a grin on his face "Yes, exactly!" Nistro look at Ryuji, his eyes full of fighting spirit as he challenges Ryuji "although I can't defeat you in a duel but in other sports I remain undefeated. Ryuji, I challenge you in a soccer battle!"
Ryuji chuck a little when he sees Nistro determine face "Challenge accept. Remember to bring more students, you can't win by yourself." He then walks away with Dextra.
Nistro shout can be hear behind him. "Don't you dare look down on me! I will definitely defeated-
[30 minutes later]
On the grass field, Ryuji stand there playing with the ball on his feet. On the other side of the field Nistro and 12 other boys were barely standing and gasping for air.
'Just a bunch of kids but dare to challenge a duelist with two buffers behind his back. In this world if a duelist with spirit can't solo 10 normal humans in a fight, then they're truly failure.'
Zexal world is more dangerous than others Yu-Gi-Oh world since they opponent can literally travel in the space by their body alone. If this is a normal world with people fighting hand to hand, then human world cook long ago.
'Now think of the Barian, Mr.Faker is currently working for them, right? Then I must have already on his sight, maybe I will get a chance to have some Barian's Force? Nah, doubt it they won't give it to someone not loyal to them. And like in hell would I be loyal to a world with no beautiful woman.' Although Marin exists but one tree alone can't bound him.
Ryuji turn around and wave his hand at the girls outside the field who are cheering for him. He is currently the most popular boy in the whole school.
"Ryuji-san is so handsome! I must have fell in love."
"Stay away women! He's mine!"
"What's you two even talking about? Ryuji-san obviously like older sister like me."
'Kid these days, so daring.' Ryuji think as he took the water bottle Dextra hand him.
He fears that before he graduated, the school will become his church since most of the girls present have the corrupted point over 40 already.
'By the way, how much is Dextra at right now?'

'Yep, that's insane, I wonder what did past me do to make her that easy to fall.'
Under the girls jealously eyes, Dextra give Ryuji a hug around his arm make he feel a soft flesh press again his arm.
'Damn, just 8 years old and her bosom already B-cup, other girls also B to C-cup, I'm not surprised if it's grown to E or F-cup easily. Just think about a future where I have a group of cheerleader cheering me during battle with their boobs bouncing around.' *Slurp* Ryuji shook his head trying to shake the image out of his mind and wipe the saliva on his lips.
"Yoho~kohai kun."
Ryuji turn his head to see a girl with a red hair. She is one of a few girls he talks to in the whole school, the older sister of the main protagonist, Kari Tsukumo.
Although in the original world she doesn't like duel but that's after their parents go missing so now, she feels indifferent. (I think so)
"Hehe, today you look very cool Ryuji-kun as expect of my kohai." Kari says proudly while wrap her arm around his neck but quickly push back by Dextra.
"You shameless woman get away from him!" Dextra quickly guard Ryuji behind her back, she never gets along well with girls that eyeing her crush, and that's basically every girl in the school.
"Hah~I still don't get why you hate me; you should share with big sister you know? A little girl like you can't handle Ryuji." Kari continues to tease Dextra, for some reason she like to bully this introvert girl.
"You should drop that unrealistic thoughts of your, you weren't even a duelist. What make you think you can stand beside him." Dextra not giving up, trying to make Kari lost hope.
"You are wrong little sister; I don't have to become a duelist to stand by his side. I can become a reporter that specialized in Ryuji duel." She then turns to Ryuji "What do you think? Get a beautiful girl to be your personal reporter isn't a loss you know?"
"My dear precious senior, did you dare to look straight into my eyes and promise it's not for money." Ryuji say while looking at her nervous face.
"Um ..." Kari look away not dare to meet his eyes, she not really into duel but if she wants to become a reporter she has to specialized in duel in order to get popular. After all, 95% people in this world love duel.
Then suddenly Kari point behind Ryuji "I think they're come here for you, you guys talk I will go first." After she say that, Ryuji catch her arm and hold it tight before turning around to see if there truly anyone.
Only after he see to man in black suit, which he instantly recognizes as Mr.Heartland bodyguard, did he release her hand and walk over them and say to Dextra "call Nistro to change his clothe, we're going now."
Behind them, Kari is massaging her sore arm, a red line appears on her slender arm. "He really doesn't hold back at all!" Little did she know if he truly not hold back then a bone would be broken by now.
She gently touches the red line on her arm, and a blush appear on her cheek 'Ryuji is really strong, I wonder what it feels if he go a bit rougher...'

Ryuji POV:
Although I have seen it in the anime, but the academy truly is grand.
"The playground can be use as duel field during the break time. Over there is an outdoor swimming pool, if you walk a few minutes pass it you will reach a building that have several clubs for you to choose." Mr.Heartland tell us which facilities through the map, a busy man like him obviously won't show around himself. "After you all get in the academy you guys can explore the place yourself."
Then he takes out an iPad and give it to us "In this iPad hold the information of all xyz monster we currently have, each of you can have one, Ryuji can take another because of his excellent performance at the orphanage."
Dextra and Nistro quickly step over to see if there is a suitable monster for their deck, I stay still waiting for them to choose first, then Mr.Heartland walk over and hand me a pile of cards.
"The archetype you ask me to find is stop develop long ago due to uninterested of the project investors, I can only find some remain monster, although I don't know why a dino player like you was interest in insect monsters, but I believe you have your own reason. The xyz monster of this archetype is also among the card you can choose this time." at the top of the pile of cards are the card that I bring with me before I take my first battle.
'4 cards, four different monsters, not enough for a new deck but can work as an engine. My dinosaur deck lack destroy effect, so it fit perfectly.' After adding the four monsters to his deck he walks forward to the iPad. "Nah, the only value thing of this archetype is it effect monsters, I'm not interested in it xyz monster." Mr.Heartland shrugged.
'Now let's see what I could choose, I already have Leviair the Sea Dragon from the reward when I take first place in practice exam, the top 4 gets to choose one xyz monster but only the common one with no archetype.' Ryuji quickly scan the list but found no dino monster make him interest. 'No Evolzar, only Grenosaurus and it's suck.'
I then found one rank 4 and one rank 6 that is suitable for my deck. One eternal banned card and one extremely good for stall. After editing my deck to more fit with two new monsters, then we say goodbye to Mr.Heartland and go outside to have a view at the academy.
"Ha~It's quite late doesn't it let go back soon, I'm hungry." Nistro complain a little but he doesn't bother to hide his wide smile.
"Wait a minute, let's go to the playground first, I want to test out my deck." Then I walk to the playground. Dextra and Nistro stand there dumbfounded before Dextra run after me and ask curious. "How did you gonna test your deck, this time everyone is going home already, I don't think there is any senior for you to duel with."
I turn my head around and give them a gentle smile "what are you talking about? Why I need to challenge a senior when I have two good friends stand right next to me?"
I activate my duel disk and take a few steps back to make enough space "I let you to fight together, don't tell me you two are fear me even in a 2v1."
Dextra and Nistro look at each other for a moment before activating their duel disk as well.
Dextra: "Even though I still don't think we will win again you even in a 2v1, but-"
Nistro: "-there is no way we will back down from a duel, I will let you witness our power!"
Ryuji: "Then both side will have 8000 LP, you two share the same field, graveyard and banish zone. If you two are ready then-"
"Duel!"
