Coach Lee walked into the room, clapping his hands to get everyone's attention.
"Alright, everyone, gather up," he said. "After practice, we're doing a mixed-team bonding game."
The athletes immediately groaned.
"Hurdle Relay and a Trust Challenge," the coach added.
Taehyung clapped loudly and dramatically."Perfect! Some of you don't even trust your own legs."
Jungkook rolled his eyes.
Coach Lee continued, "Each team will have one member from the health staff. Y/N will join Team B."
You blinked in surprise."Me?"
Taehyung quickly raised his hand."I volunteer to take Y/N on my team."
Coach Lee smirked slightly."Alright then. Taehyung, Jungkook, Yoongi, and Y/N—you're all on the same team."
Jungkook's body stiffened at the words.Yoongi hid a small smile.Taehyung winked at you like a child who had just gotten his favorite toy.
This team felt like a disaster waiting to happen.

The game was held on the outdoor track.

Until strong arms caught you firmly.

But it was Jungkook holding you alone.

Jungkook stepped onto the platform.
Taehyung called out loudly, "Yah, Jeon Jungkook, stop acting cool. Just fall already."

But his body stayed tense instead of relaxed.
His weight crashed into your arms, and you almost lost your balance.
Yoongi quickly stepped in to support you from behind.Taehyung held Jungkook's shoulders to steady him.
Something was wrong.
Jungkook's shoulder made a sharp sound, and he winced in pain.
You grabbed his arm immediately."Jungkook. Don't move."
He pulled away."I said I'm fine."
You froze at the sharpness in his voice.
Yoongi glared at him.Taehyung stepped forward calmly.
"Jungkook, lower your voice."
Jungkook didn't reply.
He didn't look at you.He didn't apologize.
He simply turned around and walked off the field.
Later — A Casual Reveal from Taehyung
You were checking and rearranging the packs of ice when Taehyung came over and sat down beside you.
"Y/N," he said gently, "don't take his behavior too seriously."
You shook your head slowly.
"He's an athlete," you replied. "Injuries can make them irritated and short-tempered."
Taehyung gave a small chuckle.
"Not this time," he said. "He's irritated because of something else."
You looked up at him.
"Because… what?"
Taehyung smirked slightly before answering.
"His girlfriend came to campus today."
Your mind went completely still for a moment.
"Girlfriend?" you repeated quietly.
Taehyung nodded.
"Yeah. She's pretty. An influencer. He met her about two months ago."
You stayed silent as you took that in.
And somehow, without effort, everything began to make sense.
Jungkook avoiding you.The cold way he had been acting.How sensitive and tense he had seemed lately.
Taehyung gently tapped your shoulder.
"Don't worry," he said. "He's just confused right now. He'll settle down."
At that exact moment, Yoongi walked into the room.
"What's going to settle down?" he asked.
Taehyung answered casually, "Jungkook. He has a girlfriend."
Yoongi's expression tightened for just a second.
Not from jealousy.Just from understanding.
He looked at you quietly.
"You okay?" he asked.
You nodded.
Truthfully, it didn't hurt you emotionally.
But something still felt… off.
