Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Kakashi Rejected

To learn these techniques, one needed to apply to the Uchiha clan.

Many techniques required seniority, and although they could definitely be learned, acquiring the necessary seniority would take a considerable amount of time.

With the Great Ninja War imminent, there was simply not enough time.

Even if restrictions were lifted during wartime, Kiyoshi wouldn't have the time to learn them.

"Forget it." Kiyoshi shook his head.

He could just learn some ordinary Genjutsu to level up the Trait, which would serve the same purpose.

If he learned several, he might even acquire a Trait for mastering multiple Genjutsu.

He walked to the dilapidated courtyard, quickly cleared the newly grown weeds, and returned inside to continue training.

Thanks to Hazuki Uchiha's contribution to raising his Dōjutsu power, Kiyoshi's Lightning Release: Iron Armor made rapid progress.

If before he could only barely control the chakra within a safe range to train his scalp.

Now, Kiyoshi was much more comfortable, and he could even train his eyelids.

It could be said that his entire body could be enveloped in the electric current, forging his skin to be even tougher.

"You've got to be kidding me, that bastard!"

Nobuo Sakai spat on the ground with his hands shoved in his pockets.

"Who can stand executing missions with a guy like that?"

"Don't be angry. What can we do? Kakashi is a genius, and even the Jonin squad leader can't stand him and is already planning to quit the team." Shunya Mizuno comforted his friend.

Their mission had encountered an unexpected change, raising a C-rank difficulty mission to B-rank difficulty.

Kakashi, however, continued to move forward to complete the mission, even abandoning his injured comrades on the spot.

"Are they talking about Kakashi?"

Obito was holding a green cloth bag, the final exams were complete, and he needed to take his books home.

Rin Nohara was next to him.

"Um... excuse me, but are the two of you talking about Kakashi Hatake?"

Rin Nohara hesitated for a moment and asked the two ninjas in front of them.

Obito turned his head, also curious about the answer.

"Who are you?" Nobuo Sakai looked down at Rin Nohara and Obito.

"I'm Kakashi's classmate from the Ninja Academy."

"Then you must know Kakashi is very annoying. It's impossible to perform missions with someone like that in the same squad."

Nobuo Sakai spoke harshly, clearly having a poor opinion of Kakashi.

"Did something happen?" Rin Nohara's heart tightened, and she quickly asked.

"That brat, even if his teammates are injured or surrounded by the enemy, he'll prioritize the mission, looking completely unconcerned."

"Exactly, who would want to execute a mission with a guy like him?" Shunya Mizuno nodded, agreeing with his friend.

"We should warn you, too: if you ever end up on a team with him, be careful."

After saying that, Nobuo Sakai pulled his friend and left directly.

"Kakashi actually became like that?" Obito was astonished.

Kakashi always had the word "comrade" on his lips before, even when they played "Can Kicking."

"Did his father's incident affect Kakashi that much?" Rin Nohara muttered to herself.

"Rin, do you know something about it?" Obito asked.

He always felt like he was the only one in the dark, and everyone else knew some information.

"...I know a little bit." Rin Nohara shook her head.

"Can you tell me?" Obito asked.

"I... I have something to do. Besides, those are Kakashi's private matters, and I don't want to talk about others behind their backs. Goodbye, Obito, see you tomorrow."

As they reached a fork in the road, Rin bade farewell to Obito.

Their homes were no longer on the same path past this point.

Obito could only drop the matter upon hearing this.

He walked down the other road, needing to buy some groceries before heading home, his grandmother had asked him to buy some vegetables.

The two parted ways.

Rin Nohara walked for about fifteen minutes, hesitated for a while, and then started walking in the direction of Kiyoshi's home.

She wanted to see Kakashi.

But the two of them no longer had any common ground.

She could only continue to ask Kiyoshi questions about Lightning Release, which would give her a topic to discuss with Kakashi.

"But... why can't I seem to learn it?" Rin Nohara held out her pale palms.

Rin could speak eloquently about the theoretical aspects of it.

But when it came to practical application, she was completely lost.

She had participated in an early test at the Hidden Leaf Village Hospital yesterday. The Medical Ninjas there said her talent was good, possessing the Yang nature and good chakra control ability.

They suggested that after graduation, she could come directly to the Hidden Leaf Village Hospital for Medical Ninja training and become a professional Medical Ninja, incorporated into the system.

However, Rin had refused that proposal. She was willing to be a Medical Ninja, but she didn't want to be a Medical Ninja who stayed in the hospital all day and became part of the system.

Rin Nohara walked into the Uchiha compound, her mind filled with worries.

"Is that Rin?"

Obito, holding his groceries, spotted a familiar figure in the distance.

He squinted his eyes, trying to see more clearly.

"It is... Rin." Obito was astonished.

Moreover, that direction was... Kiyoshi's house.

Obito's heart felt heavy.

Rin had said goodbye earlier, walking in the direction of her home.

How was she here now in the blink of an eye?

If Rin was going to Kiyoshi's house, their paths should have been the same, as he was buying groceries near the Uchiha compound.

But why did Rin say otherwise?

Obito didn't know if Rin had made a spontaneous decision or if she had lied to him.

He just felt a suffocating feeling in his chest.

Last time he saw Rin at Kiyoshi's house, she looked like she was about to be taken advantage of.

He had come out to play the hero and save the beauty, but instead of receiving praise from Rin, she looked sorrowful.

'Is Kiyoshi Uchiha really that great?'

Obito clenched the bag in his hand. The veins protruded from his wrist due to the excessive force.

"You've come again, Rin."

Kiyoshi stopped training and brewed a cup of tea for Rin Nohara.

Rin Nohara politely accepted the tea and took a sip. The taste was a bit unusual.

"Did you brew this tea using a method from the Land of Lightning, Kiyoshi?"

"Yes, I'm rather used to it. I'll make sure to change it if you don't like the taste." Kiyoshi said.

He had lived there for several years, and many life skills were learned in the Land of Lightning.

Since he had been dependent on the generosity of neighbors to survive since childhood, Kiyoshi was quite adept at reading people's expressions.

"No need, it's quite good." Rin Nohara shook her head.

"Are you troubled by something?" Kiyoshi asked.

"Yes."

Rin Nohara nodded softly, cradling the teacup. Her reflection was mirrored in the liquid, rippling slightly with the movement.

She then explained the situation with Kakashi.

"So Kakashi is being rejected by his teammates."

Kiyoshi was not surprised by this outcome.

It was precisely because Kakashi was constantly rejected by his teammates, going through several rotations, that he eventually ended up being assigned to Obito and Rin's squad.

Otherwise, why would the early-graduate Kakashi be teamed up with them?

"Today, I'll explain the relationship between Lightning Release and the chakra points."

Kiyoshi handed Rin Nohara a document containing some of his personal conjecture about Ninjutsu.

Rin Nohara's aptitude was not weak. She just didn't possess the Lightning nature chakra, making it impossible for her to perform that particular chakra nature transformation.

However, if she spent a decade or less, perhaps a few years, training, Rin Nohara would eventually develop that attribute.
