"Headshots, decapitations, severed limbs — game developers, what are you letting children play?"

"Holy Grail War: the game poisoning our youth."

"Teenager starved himself to death over seven days locked inside a VR pod just to keep playing — his mother is devastated."

"Experts warn: hyper-realistic VR games will create a generation of addicts unable to return to reality."

"A tedious, low-quality gore festival disguised as a seven-player battle royale."

"Goose Corporation CEO publicly calls for games to embody love and peace, not violence."

"Dark and violent content warps children's developing worldviews."

Max stared at his phone.

He was being slandered. More precisely, Holy Grail War was being slandered — and not subtly. This was coordinated, blunt, and moving fast. Two or three hundred thousand comments below each post, most of them variations of "Support" and "Trash game, shut it down." A handful of longer, thoughtful rebuttals — buried immediately, more dislikes than likes, vanishing without trace.

He checked his Emotion Point counter. Just over 200 million — still climbing. For Emotion Points to decrease, players had to genuinely feel the game was bad, not just perform outrage in a comment section. The number told him what he needed to know about the real player sentiment versus the manufactured version.

He understood what this was.

There was anger — of course there was. But underneath the anger, his mind was unusually calm.

He was not going to do what people in his position usually did. No emergency livestream. No clarification post. Those approaches had merit under normal circumstances, but normal circumstances assumed your rebuttal could reach its intended audience. When organized capital was running an information campaign, anything he posted would either be buried immediately or taken down entirely. The supportive comments already drowning in the feed were proof of that. Running around trying to self-prove in that environment was the most exhausting and least effective thing he could do.

So. Different approach.

The outcome of a chess game is often decided off the board.

He didn't have institutional power. He had something different: the system, 200 million Emotion Points, and the specific advantage of knowing exactly which companies were behind this — because whichever one's coordinated negative content disappeared after being targeted was the one that had organized it.

The system chimed.

"Congratulations, Host. 200 million Emotion Points threshold reached. Rewards unlocked:

System Space ×1 (10 cubic meters)

Locked Stream Room ×1 — designates one streaming account and room immune to external interference; switchable with 6-hour cooldown

Pinned Post ×10 — select up to 10 posts to be forcibly pinned to platform homepages for 24 hours, immune to removal by any external party

Master Clay Sculptor experience ×1

Master Designer experience ×1

Master Tailor experience ×1

Master Craftsman experience ×1"

Max looked at the rewards.

The Locked Stream Room. The Pinned Posts.

He had been approximately thirty seconds away from escalating this into something considerably more aggressive. The rewards had arrived at exactly the right moment to make that unnecessary — and to give him tools that were, frankly, more surgical than burning things down.

He sat back down.

Opened a new post. Drafted carefully. Published it simultaneously across every major platform.

Within sixty seconds, the entire internet was moving.

It was like dropping something very heavy into very still water.
