Chapter 224 - Chapter 224: A Completely Altered Plot

Chapter 224: A Completely Altered Plot

When Kenichi arrived at the Uchiha compound, he immediately noticed it had expanded since his last visit. There were shops now, even clothing stores, making it look less like a hidden clan residence and more like a small village or town.

"These guys… they actually let ordinary people in? They really changed their ways," Kenichi muttered, genuinely surprised.

He did not know the full situation yet, but he saw plenty of unfamiliar faces, likely civilians who had come from other regions. More importantly, there were no ninja posted around like guards. The place felt almost like the smaller towns scattered across the Land of Rain. There were even cultivated fields outside the walls, already planted with all kinds of crops.

"Why are you here?"

Shisui walked up carrying a pole. Kenichi glanced at him and almost froze. With the hoe in Shisui's hands and the simple clothes on his body, he looked like an old farmer.

It was a strange sight. Shisui had probably taken more lives with a kunai than he had ever harvested rice.

"I came to see whether you've adapted to your new life," Kenichi said with a shrug.

Of course, his real target was Itachi and Sasuke, but he was not about to announce that out loud.

"This is rare. I thought you came to assign us a mission," Shisui said, wiping sweat from his forehead. He looked across the village with visible satisfaction.

This was the Uchiha's village. Here, there was no discrimination, no slander, and civilians could live alongside them without fear. The atmosphere was intoxicating to Shisui.

He had never wanted the Uchiha to dominate Konoha. He had never dreamed of ruling anything. All he wanted was for the village and the clan to coexist in peace, just like this.

"It's only a matter of time," Kenichi said, nodding.

In the future, the Uchiha would definitely be needed. How could they enjoy this life forever without paying anything for it?

If you wanted to keep what you gained, you had to be willing to give something back.

"What do you need us to do?" Shisui frowned slightly. He had always known this day would come, sooner or later. Still, he kept himself composed.

"We'll talk about it later," Kenichi said. "By the way, how are the clan leader's two sons doing now?"

There was no urgent need to use the Uchiha yet.

Konoha was still in a sensitive phase regarding the clan, and these people needed time to settle into their new lives and build real bonds here. The more they loved what they had, the more they would be willing to protect it.

"Do you mean Itachi and Sasuke? They're both doing very well," Shisui replied, giving Kenichi a sidelong look.

So this was the real reason he came, wasn't it?

Even so, Shisui led Kenichi forward.

Itachi and Sasuke were not together. Itachi was off practicing ninjutsu.

When Kenichi and Shisui approached, Itachi seemed to be in a good mood. He smiled and greeted Shisui, then studied Kenichi with curiosity.

Kenichi looked at Itachi carefully.

Three tomoe.

It had to be said, Itachi really was a genius. Kenichi did not know what the boy had experienced, but it was obvious he had already awakened the fully developed Sharingan before leaving the village.

Was it because of the genjutsu Kenichi had planted in Itachi with his Sharingan before?

Unlikely.

Still, awakening the Sharingan was a strange thing. Everyone awakened it at a different time, under different circumstances. The process was almost mystical.

Itachi and Sasuke both had the potential to become terrifyingly strong, but whether they could truly reach Mangekyo depended on their own paths and their own experiences. Genetics only gave them the possibility.

Turning that possibility into reality was on them.

If the ninja world somehow became harmonious, if there were no Black Zetsu stirring trouble, and if the Uchiha were respected like the Hyuga, with no war and no crushing tragedy, could Itachi and Sasuke awaken Mangekyo at all?

That was a real question.

In a peaceful era, it was difficult for a privileged child to experience the kind of emotional shock required. It was not like they could simply manufacture a life changing tragedy on demand. Obito's case was not something you could casually replicate.

"Big brother, have we met before?" Itachi asked, staring at Kenichi. The face felt familiar, but he could not place where.

"We have," Kenichi said with a light chuckle. "I'm the one who took you out of Konoha."

He reached out as if to give Itachi a casual pat on the head, but Itachi leaned away and avoided the touch.

Itachi nodded as if he understood, yet the feeling remained. He was sure he had met Kenichi before he left Konoha, but where? No matter how he searched his memory, he could not grasp it.

"Do you have your own summoning beast now?" Kenichi asked, thinking of something else.

Itachi was one of the rare ninja who could summon crows. Then again, summoning contracts were rare overall in the ninja world.

"Yes. He's my partner," Itachi answered honestly.

He formed the signs and summoned his companion. A crow landed on Itachi's shoulder and gently nuzzled against him.

Kenichi nodded.

So some things had already happened, even if the larger plot had shifted. Kenichi's interference had pulled Itachi out of Konoha and out of that suffocating environment, and with that, a huge part of the future had been rewritten.

Without Itachi, who would carry out the Night of the Uchiha Clan's Massacre?

If Itachi did not become the executioner, what would Fugaku do when faced with ninja who came to kill him?

Kenichi was curious, but he also understood the truth.

His actions had already altered the ninja world's course. Many future events had likely changed along with it.

"But it doesn't matter," Kenichi thought, shaking his head. "I didn't come here to reenact the original plot. If a transmigrator can't change anything, what's the point?"

As long as the Sage of Six Paths did not interfere, the problem was not catastrophic.

After encouraging Itachi to keep training, Kenichi and Shisui left and went to find Sasuke.

Sasuke was still in school.

There were other children around his age attending classes too. And Kenichi quickly noticed something else. Every child in this school was from the Uchiha clan.

"You still haven't revealed your identities?" Kenichi raised an eyebrow.

He was not talking about them being Uchiha. He meant their identity as ninja.

"…The people who joined this village are refugees escaping war," Shisui said after a pause.

He cherished the clan's small village too much. He wanted to avoid anything that might disrupt it.

Kenichi understood. Refugees driven from their homes by war usually carried resentment toward ninja. After all, it was ninja conflict that destroyed their lives in the first place.

"It'll be exposed sooner or later," Kenichi said bluntly.

He was not optimistic about this approach. Burying your head in the sand did not solve anything.

"…Let's talk about it another time," Shisui said, scratching his cheek. He had not found the right solution yet.

Kenichi felt a bit exasperated. Could they not just be more straightforward?

Humans were complicated. They hated what they did not have, yet desperately wanted the very thing they claimed to hate.

It was like resentment toward the rich. Who would not envy those second generation heirs who never worked and still earned a fortune each month from rent?

But if that rich kid was you, it would suddenly feel wonderful.

People in the ninja world were the same.

Those who lost their homes because of ninja wars resented ninja, yes. But if their own village had ninja, that would also mean protection. It would mean safety.

The Hidden Rain Village was proof. The Land of Rain suffered constant conflict, yet the Hidden Rain Village still drew people in because the presence of ninja offered security and a chance to survive.

Kenichi sighed.

In any case, this was a problem the Uchiha would have to face themselves. It would be better for them to struggle through it and find their own answer.

So he shifted his attention to Sasuke, who was sitting in class.

This was basically a miniature Ninja Academy. Strictly speaking, it was more like an Uchiha elementary school.

Sasuke listened intently, dark eyes calm and expressionless.

He probably had not awakened his Sharingan yet.

So the question was, at what age would Sasuke, who never experienced the Night of the Uchiha Clan's Massacre, awaken it?

That was a very interesting question.

"Hmm?"

Sasuke seemed to sense the gaze. He turned his head and saw Shisui and an unfamiliar older brother standing at the classroom door, watching him.

Sasuke happily waved his small hands, enthusiastically greeting Shisui.

Shisui smiled back.

This was the clan leader's bloodline. Fugaku had entrusted his sons to him, and Shisui would not allow either of them to come to harm.

"Shisui," Kenichi said quietly, eyes narrowing as a new thought formed, "do you want me to take Sasuke with me?"

"Huh?" Shisui froze.
