Chapter 120: Listen to This, Is This Even Human Language?
Carrying the unconscious Chiriku, Kenichi left the daimyo's residence.
The moment he spotted Asuma and Chiriku inside, a plan had already formed in his head.
Anyone who has ever played an escort mission knows what the real nightmare is. It is not the endless waves of enemies, and it is not the elite monsters either.
It is the person you are escorting.
They cannot fight, they cannot defend, they die if someone breathes at them too hard, and they either walk painfully slow or run around like they are trying to get you killed on purpose. It makes you want to abandon the mission and become the bandit instead.
If you did not have to protect that idiot, you could go all out and wipe the field clean. But because you must protect him, you also have to fight with one hand tied behind your back, terrified you will hit the escort target by accident.
So if Kenichi attacked the daimyo's room with Sage Art: Dragon Fire Technique, Asuma would have no choice but to block it. That would force Chiriku to face him alone.
If Kenichi had actually wanted Asuma dead, Asuma probably would not have survived. Kenichi had far too many ways to deal with him and Chiriku.
"Asuma is too weak right now, and he is way too careless," Kenichi muttered, shaking his head. "No wonder he dies in the future."
He had lived as a second generation Kage for too long. He had forgotten how cruel the ninja world could be.
Fine.
Kenichi would teach him a lesson using Chiriku's head.
With Chiriku still slung over him, Kenichi went looking for Kazuma.
Or rather, Kazuma found him.
Kazuma might have been a fool, but at least he had some ability. The moment he noticed something was wrong at the daimyo's residence, he rushed over and ran straight into Kenichi.
The instant Kazuma saw Kenichi, he attacked without hesitation. A barrage of Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullets erupted toward him.
Just one look at the unconscious Chiriku in Kenichi's grasp told Kazuma everything he needed to know.
Kenichi held Chiriku with one hand and stayed completely calm. Chakra condensed continuously in his left palm, forming a spinning sphere.
It was not a Rasengan.
It was a simple wind ball, packed with a massive amount of Sage Mode wind attribute chakra.
Still, it resembled the Rasengan enough that the resemblance was obvious. Kenichi had heard of the Rasengan, the technique Naruto used through an entire anime. Once you understood the principle, copying the shape was not that hard.
"He's a rookie!" Kazuma's eyes lit up when he saw Kenichi charge forward with Wind Release.
Kazuma clapped his hands together.
Kenichi's feet sank abruptly into mud.
At the same time, Kazuma formed a clay spear and thrust it forward. The weapon pierced Kenichi's body cleanly.
A flash of white lightning burst.
Kenichi's body scattered into crackling electricity.
"Damn it!" Kazuma immediately realized it. A Shadow Clone Technique, or even Lightning Release: Lightning Clone Technique.
But before he could stabilize his breathing, a heavy strike slammed into his neck. Dizziness surged up violently.
Kazuma tried to force chakra through his system to resist.
He failed.
A pair of Sharingan eyes, three tomoe rotating slowly, filled his vision.
The next second, his consciousness went dark.
"What a weakling," Kenichi clicked his tongue. "You want to rebel against Konoha? Asuma could probably beat you until you forget your own name."
He grabbed Kazuma, kept Chiriku secured, and left the capital of the Land of Fire without looking back.
Throughout the entire process, Kenichi never once set down the earthenware potion jar in his hand.
When Kenichi finally reached Orochimaru, his teacher had already been waiting for a while.
The moment Orochimaru saw the two ninja Kenichi had brought, a smile flickered in his eyes.
Tsunade stared at Kenichi with a complicated expression. She recognized both of them. Asuma had mentioned before that one was Chiriku and the other was Kazuma, two members of the daimyo's Twelve Guardian Ninja.
She just had not expected Kenichi to drag them here like this.
What exactly happened after I left the village?
"Tsunade neechan, would you like some tea?" Kenichi asked.
He had seen what Orochimaru took out of the sealing scroll. He could guess what his teacher intended to do, so he simply started gathering firewood and boiling water.
Tsunade did not answer. Instead, she looked at Orochimaru warily.
"Kenichi, what exactly is your teacher planning to do?" she demanded.
Kenichi scratched his head. He did not even need to turn around to know Orochimaru was watching him.
"I don't know," he said immediately. "But you'll probably find out soon."
"Shizune nee," Kenichi said, handing over two cups.
Tsunade and Shizune accepted them with equally complicated expressions. A moment ago they were fighting. Now they were holding tea.
It made no sense.
After Tsunade finished one cup, she started panting.
Not because Kenichi had added computer parts or anything equally insane.
It was because she understood what Orochimaru was planning.
"Orochimaru!" Tsunade's fury detonated. The Yin Seal, the Strength of a Hundred Seal, released.
Kenichi's eyes widened as Orochimaru spoke without even turning his head.
"Kenichi, don't let her bother me."
Kenichi stared at his teacher for a full second, blank and stunned.
Listen to this. Is this even human language?
Tsunade, with the Yin Seal released, held herself together through sheer rage.
Kenichi did not waste time arguing. He drove his fist into his own body and spat out a mouthful of blood.
But Tsunade was Tsunade.
Thinking one mouthful of blood would weaken her enough to control her completely was childish.
Tsunade blew the splatter away with a violent gust and glared at Kenichi, anger rolling off her in waves.
"Kenichi, this has nothing to do with you. Move!" she snapped. Her fear of blood had dulled slightly under the seal and her rage, but it was still there.
"I'm sorry, Tsunade neechan," Kenichi said, his smile gentle.
It was the same kind of smile Orochimaru wore.
A smile Kenichi had learned from living around him every day.
"But I want to test my magnanimity too."
"Then be careful!" Tsunade stomped.
The earth split open, the shock racing toward Kenichi like a cracking jaw.
Kenichi pulled on his mask and leapt, narrowly avoiding the tearing ground. In midair, he mobilized a massive surge of Sage Chakra.
A piercing bird cry echoed through the forest.
"But this isn't Chidori anymore," Kenichi murmured.
As he poured in more chakra, the sound changed. The bird cry sharpened into something even harsher, like standing in the heart of a thunderstorm, so loud it felt like it could rupture eardrums.
"Good lad!" Tsunade's eyes flashed with admiration.
The power gathering in Kenichi's hand was no joke.
A pillar of lightning surged out from his palm, violent and condensed.
Tsunade did not meet it with raw strength. She opened her mouth and unleashed Wind Release: Vacuum Giant Ball at the lightning pillar.
It shattered instantly.
The moment she finished the Vacuum Giant Ball, Tsunade used the Body Flicker Technique, vanishing from the path of Kenichi's attack.
