Chapter 116 - Chapter 117: The Final Battle of the Offensive Operation (Part 2)

Four drop pod transport ships were stationed in Earth's low orbit, protected by a fleet of eight combat vessels.

"Commence drop operation!"

At the command from the transport ship captain, the drop pods attached beneath the transports detached and began descending toward the surface, each carrying four MS units.

After all forty-four drop pods had been deployed, confirmation was relayed via laser communication to the Athena on Earth.

"Captain Aric, we have completed drop pod deployment."

"Received!"

Aric nodded in acknowledgment.

After ending the communication with space forces, Aric contacted Felix at the front lines.

On the battlefield, Felix maneuvered the Dawn to evade an attack to the right. The Heavy Assault Machine Gun fired, shells ejecting from its chamber.

Boom!

An explosion erupted in the air.

"Commander, the drop pods have been deployed!"

"Understood." Felix nodded and issued an order. "Contact the submerged hidden forces and have them initiate their operation!"

"Yes!"

Aric responded promptly.

Within the silently submerged ZAFT Forces unit: "Affirmative, commencing operation immediately!"

Hoffman's voice responded through the comm.

Ending the communication, Hoffman gave the order.

"Execute!"

With those two words, hatches opened, releasing Gern and Zono.

After leaving the mothership, Gern and Zono moved through the ocean under their pilots' control, heading toward the stationary surface vessels.

On the surface, aboard an Earth Alliance Forces warship: "Captain, detecting high-speed underwater objects approaching!"

"Evade!"

The captain quickly ordered.

However, the command came too late. The moment he finished speaking, the ship was rocked by a violent impact.

Feeling the tremor, the captain knew they had been struck by torpedoes.

"Fire torpedoes underwater!" the captain ordered.

"What's the status?"

He inquired with the damage control department via communicator.

Before receiving a response, another violent shock shook the vessel.

"Captain, we've been hit by two torpedoes! Hull damage is severe. We're attempting repairs now!"

Came the response from damage control.

The captain's expression darkened upon hearing this.

"Captain, our counterattack failed!"

A voice filled with despair reached his ears.

Knowing the attack had failed, the captain mentally prepared for the worst.

Another powerful tremor shook the ship.

"Abandon ship!"

After a moment's consideration, the captain gave the order.

As Gern and Zono attacked the surface warships, four submerged aircraft carriers that had been lying in wait rose to the surface.

Hangar doors opened!

The launched DINNs completed their catapult operations at maximum speed.

Forty DINNs flew through the air, opening fire on the surface warships before them.

"Dive!"

After deploying the Mobile Suit Unit, Hoffman swiftly issued the order.

"Captain, incoming missiles!"

"Intercept!"

Hoffman commanded.

The soldier acknowledged the order, fingers pressing the firing button.

Anti-aircraft missile bay doors opened, and the missiles launched rapidly.

After firing these missiles, the submarine carrier continued its descent into the depths.

At the Kaohsiung Spaceport Defense Force Command Center: "Commander, a ZAFT Mobile Suit Unit has appeared in the coastal area!"

Observing the radar readings, the soldier reported to Commander Jiang Tong. Upon hearing this, Jiang Tong clenched his fists and issued the order.

"Intercept!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Commander, detecting objects rapidly descending from high altitude!"

The report echoed through the command center.

After delivering the initial report, the soldier's expression changed as he continued.

"It's ZAFT's airborne forces!"

"Damn it, how many units has ZAFT prepared?"

Hearing that another unit was descending from above, Jiang Tong couldn't suppress a low growl. After his outburst, he quickly began tactical arrangements.

On the front lines, Felix piloted the Dawn, swinging its Heavy Sword to cleave an enemy fighter in two.

The Dawn then executed evasive maneuvers in mid-air.

Heavy Assault Machine Guns opened fire.

An explosion rang out as the fighter was destroyed.

His finger pulled the trigger again, firing the two Machine Cannons equipped on the New Guuru.

Boom! Boom!

Two explosions erupted ahead.

Watching the fiery blasts, Felix pushed the Dawn forward.

"Heine, continue the battle here. I'm advancing forward!"

Concerned about the situation at the spaceport, Felix entrusted the ongoing combat to Heine and the others. Hearing this, Heine responded.

"Captain, we can handle the fighting here."

"Mm."

Felix acknowledged.

He manipulated the Dawn to perform rapid maneuvers.

Several Vanguard Fighters spotted Felix's movement and immediately charged toward the Dawn.

Felix's hands moved across the controls.

The Dawn executed several aerial maneuvers while firing intermittently.

Effortlessly eliminating these fighters.

After dispatching them, the Dawn continued its advance.

Arriving at the battlefield near Kaohsiung Spaceport, Felix noticed one of his subordinates in dire straits and pulled the trigger.

Bang! Bang!

Two shots fired.

The high-velocity rounds eliminated the Vanguard Fighter attempting a sneak attack.

Feeling the nearby explosion, the pilot checked his screen and, upon seeing Felix's Dawn, called out.

"Captain Griffith!"

"Focus on the battle!"

Responding to the greeting, Felix replied curtly.

After his response, Felix assessed the situation ahead, his mind racing as his finger pulled the trigger.

Both Heavy Assault Machine Guns and the New Guuru's equipped Machine Cannons fired simultaneously.

While firing, Felix continuously adjusted his shooting angles from the cockpit.

—Five consecutive bursts fired twenty large-caliber rounds.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Violent explosions erupted across the front.

"Nothing beats the thrill of firing cannons!"

Watching the twenty Vanguard Fighters before him being taken down by his continuous barrage, Felix muttered under his breath.

After muttering, Felix slightly furrowed his brows.

"Still, without a multi-lock system, this is quite difficult."

After grumbling, Felix manipulated the controls.

The Dawn evaded attacks with aerial maneuvers.

Observing the enemy fighters ahead, Felix unleashed another continuous barrage of fire.

In the command center, Jiang Tong watched the Dawn dominating the skies, slamming his fist fiercely on the table. His eyes burned red as he growled through gritted teeth.

"Bastard!"

"Is this guy even human? How can he continuously fire at multiple targets simultaneously without using the Multi-Target Tracking Lock Radar!"
