Chapter 102 - Chapter 103: Training Ends, All Five Defeated

The trajectory of the Heavy Sword slash appeared right before Felix's eyes. With swift hand movements, Felix maneuvered his GINN to sidestep, narrowly evading the Heavy Sword's attack.

During the evasion, the Attitude Adjustment Thrusters remained active, propelling the GINN backward in a continuous motion.

By the time Athrun adjusted his GINN's Heavy Sword attack path, it was already too late. Felix had already piloted his mobile suit out of the weapon's effective range, completely avoiding the strike.

Without pausing, Felix maintained his GINN's evasive maneuvers, effortlessly dodging simultaneous attacks from Yzak and the other two pilots.

While executing these precise movements, Felix continued his instruction over the comms: "Unless absolutely necessary, avoid close-quarters combat with enemies. If you can eliminate targets from a distance, do so."

As he spoke, Felix fired his training rounds toward Rusty's GINN.

Seeing the incoming fire, Rusty immediately broke formation and maneuvered to evade the training rounds. While dodging, he noticed another round heading directly toward him. With no other options, Rusty continued his evasive actions.

As Rusty executed his maneuvers and the GINN danced through space, the combat system registered a hit. Staring at the result displayed on his screen, Rusty exclaimed in disbelief, "When did that hit me?"

While Rusty processed this, Felix's voice came through the comms again: "Predicting enemy flight paths is essential, but don't become rigid in your thinking. You must adapt to battlefield conditions and integrate various techniques flexibly. Only then can you achieve optimal results."

Hearing Team Leader Griffith's words, Rusty realized he had been eliminated from the exercise. He switched to the live training feed to review the replay.

Through the playback, Rusty finally saw when the third training round had been fired. "Team Leader Griffith, how did you make that judgment?"

As he studied the timing and trajectory of the training round, confusion clouded Rusty's expression.

Felix's explanation then cut through his uncertainty like sunlight through clouds: "To predict an enemy's evasion path, you need comprehensive battlefield awareness. Through repeated combat observation, you must understand your opponent's piloting patterns and evasion habits. Use these patterns to anticipate their movements."

"So that's how it works!" Rusty murmured, suddenly understanding.

He recalled how Team Leader Griffith's GINN had executed several attacks against him earlier. "Each move connected to the next... Team Leader Griffith is truly remarkable."

With admiration shining on his face, Rusty excitedly praised his commander. Even as he spoke these words, Felix had already eliminated Nicol from the exercise.

With Nicol withdrawing from combat, only Athrun and Yzak remained on the battlefield.

Realizing they were the last two standing, Athrun and Yzak understood the upcoming battle would be even more challenging.

"Athrun, cover me. I'll charge at Commander Griffith and engage him in close combat to tie him down. You try to take him out with long-range attacks," Athrun quickly formulated the tactic in his mind and explained it to Yzak.

After hearing Athrun's plan, Yzak snorted coldly.

"Hmph!"

Yzak then executed Athrun's tactic, piloting his GINN to attack Felix's GINN from a distance as instructed.

Watching the training rounds rapidly approaching on his screen, Felix manipulated the controls, and his GINN immediately executed evasive maneuvers in space.

The incoming training rounds were dodged one by one.

After completing the evasive actions, Felix glanced at Yzak and Athrun, a slight smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

"Let me see what you've got," he thought to himself, feeling a surge of anticipation.

Athrun's GINN charged toward Felix at high speed, its weapons continuously firing as it advanced.

The attacks from Athrun and Yzak interwove, creating an effective crossfire.

"Not bad," Felix praised softly.

Under Felix's control, the GINN dodged their attacks repeatedly, evading each assault with precision.

"Your coordinated attack is quite good this time," Felix commented over the comms.

His praise went unanswered as Athrun continued charging forward in his GINN at high speed.

Seeing Athrun's determination to engage in close combat, Felix decided not to avoid it. Seizing the right moment, he executed his controls.

The GINN drew its Heavy Sword, meeting Athrun's slashing attack head-on.

Two Heavy Swords collided in space.

Athrun's offensive failed to achieve its intended effect.

"Yzak!" Athrun shouted urgently over the comms.

With a displeased expression, Yzak pulled the trigger according to the situation.

Having maintained constant vigilance, Felix was prepared for Yzak's attack.

Under Felix's control, the GINN adjusted the angle of its Heavy Sword, allowing Athrun's blade to slide off his own.

Athrun hurriedly attempted to recover, but it was too late.

Felix's GINN had already completed a sidestep maneuver, neutralizing Athrun's attack while simultaneously evading Yzak's assault.

"In combat, you must think ahead and consider all possible enemy actions. Anticipating your opponent's moves is essential," Felix shared his insights over the comms after dodging the attacks.

Hearing Felix's advice, Athrun reflected on his own performance. Recognizing that his thinking hadn't been comprehensive enough, he reminded himself internally that he still had much to learn as he continued evading attacks from both Athrun and Yzak.

Felix piloted the GINN to evade Yzak's attack, brandishing his Heavy Sword as he charged toward the GINN controlled by Athrun. Seeing this, Athrun maneuvered his GINN to meet Felix's assault.

As they clashed, Athrun noticed the Heavy Sword in the opposing GINN's hand shift its attack trajectory at the last moment.

What an extreme maneuver!"

Exclaiming inwardly in awe, Athrun immediately reacted.

No sooner had he taken action than a dark gun barrel appeared on his screen.

"I've told you before—if you can avoid close combat, avoid it. Athrun, you haven't learned a thing!"

Hearing Captain Griffith's voice, Athrun resignedly let out a bitter smile. The next moment, the system's judgment was announced, declaring his defeat.

Athrun ceased piloting the GINN.

"One left."

Inside his GINN's cockpit, Felix grinned and muttered to himself upon seeing Athrun eliminated.

Under Felix's control, the GINN turned, dodging an incoming attack while closing in on Yzak.

He executed evasive maneuvers again and again, narrowly avoiding each of Yzak's strikes.

Through Felix's skillful handling, the distance between the two GINNs steadily decreased. As he closed in, Felix waited for the perfect moment to fire.

After several feints and dodges, Felix seized an opening and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Yzak reacted instantly, maneuvering his GINN to evade.

Felix fired again.

This time, Yzak wasn't so lucky—the training rounds struck his GINN along its evasion path.

"Dammit!"

Yzak roared in frustration as his unit was hit.
