"No problem."
Looking at Patrick, Felix nodded and agreed to the matter. Continuing to watch Patrick, Felix waited for the next instruction.
Sensing Felix's gaze, Patrick spoke.
"Pack up and head over."
"Alright."
As soon as the two words left his mouth, Felix saw the communication unilaterally ended by Patrick. Checking the time on his phone, Felix placed it on the bedside table.
Standing up and stretching, he tidied the blankets and walked toward the bathroom.
Half an hour later, after finishing breakfast, Felix pocketed his phone from the table, pushed the door open, and stepped outside.
Military Academy
"Captain Griffith, hello."
"Hello to you too." Felix replied with a slight smile.
"Captain Griffith, hello."
"Hello."
"Captain Griffith, hello."
"Hello."
"This is exhausting!"
Sitting in the school instructor's office, Felix drank a glass of water, took a deep breath, and spoke.
Stuer, an instructor who had once taught Felix, saw his expression and chuckled teasingly.
"What's wrong? Can't our great hero handle it?"
"Instructor, please don't tease me."
Looking up at Stuer, Felix replied with a bitter smile.
After speaking, Felix looked at Stuer and asked.
"Are the facilities here much better compared to when I was a student?"
"Of course they are much better."
Nodding with a smile, Stuer looked at Felix and continued.
"The large-scale military operations this year have provided the academy with vast amounts of combat and battlefield data. This rich data allows the cadets to receive much better training.
In terms of battlefield adaptability, they are far superior to your batch and the one before yours."
"That's excellent news!"
Hearing this, Felix smiled with satisfaction.
Turning to look out the window, Felix watched the cadets on the training ground, their spirited demeanor making his satisfied smile even more pronounced, and said with a smile.
"I really envy them!"
Withdrawing his gaze, he looked at Stuer and asked with a smile.
"Let's not idle here any longer, Instructor."
"You're right."
Smiling slightly, Stuer nodded in agreement.
The two stopped talking and stood up together, heading outside.
Leaving the office, Felix and Stuer walked toward the training ground. Along the way, they chatted intermittently, and time passed quickly in this atmosphere.
Training Ground
Standing at the edge of the training ground, Felix watched the cadets training, observing the Training GINNs performing various maneuvers under their control.
Turning to look at Stuer, who smiled back, Felix then glanced at an instructor on the field, pulled out his phone from his pocket, and swiped his finger across the screen.
Several dozen seconds later, "Captain Griffith!"
The instructor who approached showed respect upon seeing Felix, raising his hand in a salute as he greeted him.
Felix returned the salute while looking at him.
"Hello."
"Captain Griffith, everything has been arranged for you. We can begin whenever you're ready."
Lowering his hand, the instructor spoke to Felix.
Glancing at Stuer, then turning his gaze to the instructor, Felix didn't speak but responded with a slight smile and a nod.
A minute or two later, on the training ground, "Captain Griffith, what brings you here?"
Rusty looked up at Felix on the platform, his face a mix of admiring joy and confusion, as he turned to ask Athrun beside him.
Athrun turned to look at him and shook his head.
"I'm not sure about that either."
"He's probably here by invitation to give us a lesson."
Nicol, on Athrun's other side, leaned forward slightly, turning to look at Rusty with a warm, sunny smile as he voiced his thoughts.
Just as he finished speaking, Felix, now standing on the platform, began to address them.
"Today, I'm here at the Chairman's invitation to provide some guidance for all of you."
After stating his purpose, Felix looked at these vibrant cadets and shifted the topic.
"So, to better understand your current level, I've prepared a mock battle for us—one based on real combat scenarios."
With that, he turned to Stuer beside him.
Stuer, understanding the cue, produced the pre-prepared list.
"Athrun Zala, Yzak Joule, Nicol Amalfi, Rusty Mackenzie, Dearka Elsman—the five of you, step forward."
Setting the list down, Stuer looked at the five cadets at the front of the group. As Stuer finished reading the names, Athrun and the others stood up.
The five of them looked up at Felix on the platform, and Felix gazed back at them.
"The upcoming battle will take place in space, not here at the academy. Are you prepared?"
"We're prepared!"
A resounding reply came from the five of them.
Half an hour later, in space outside December City .
Six Training GINNs stood in the void of space, five of them grouped together facing a solitary GINN opposite them.
Inside the cockpit of the Training GINN, Felix sat in the pilot's seat, gripping the control stick. As he reviewed the preset action library of the GINN, he felt a wave of emotion.
"Truly, one generation plants the trees under whose shade another generation rests!"
"Captain Griffith, we're ready."
Athrun's voice came through the comms, pulling Felix out of his thoughts.
Looking at the five GINNs before him, he smiled and said, "Since you're ready, let's begin."
No sooner had he spoken than Felix saw the five GINNs spring into action. Their Training Heavy Assault Machine Guns opened fire toward him.
Observing their disjointed, individualistic volleys, Felix manipulated the controls.
Under his command, the GINN executed evasive maneuvers in space.
The attacks from the five were swiftly dodged.
Once the evasion was complete, Felix's finger squeezed the trigger.
A training round shot from the barrel of his gun.
"Yzak, watch out!"
Athrun, seeing the situation, opened the comms to warn Yzak. Such a warning, however, was precisely stepping on a landmine.
"I don't need you to tell me!"
Yzak's voice carried clear displeasure as he spoke, simultaneously maneuvering his GINN to evade.
While dodging, Yzak's finger pulled the trigger.
Training rounds fired from the barrel.
Athrun and the others also opened fire on the GINN piloted by Felix at the same moment. The complete lack of coordination and scattered firepower made Felix shake his head involuntarily.
Coordinated combat really is the ZAFT Forces' weakest point, he sighed inwardly.
Felix controlled his GINN to evade.
With two or three precise movements, he dodged the training rounds fired from multiple directions by the five opponents.
After avoiding the attacks, Felix targeted one GINN and returned fire.
