Chapter 90 - Chapter 91: An Operation Targeting Felix Is About to Begin

"That's very possible," Felix nodded, then turned to Doug and changed the subject. "But do you think there might be another possibility?"

Glancing at Felix, Doug fixed his gaze on the electronic map before them. After carefully analyzing the situation shown on the map for a moment, he looked up at Felix with an embarrassed smile.

"We overlooked some considerations."

"It's fine!" Felix shook his head, smiling slightly at Doug as he continued. "As the saying goes, even the wise are not always free from error. Your side is facing intense attack frequencies from the Earth Alliance Forces along with harassment from those resistance groups. With so many things to consider and time being tight, it's understandable to have some oversights."

As he spoke, Felix's eyes returned to the electronic map.

"Besides, nothing has happened yet. These oversights can still be remedied."

"Thank you for your understanding."

Doug looked at Felix with gratitude.

Felix smiled faintly, his gaze still fixed on the electronic map. Seeing this, Doug also fell silent, following Felix's eyes to study the map.

Meanwhile, at the Earth Alliance Forces African Theater Command, African Theater Commander Fisher was in communication with Supreme Commander Williams.

"Supreme Commander, according to the information we currently have, ZAFT has airdropped a Mobile Suit Unit toward Victoria Spaceport."

Fisher reported respectfully to the Supreme Commander on the screen. Williams listened with an unchanged expression and calmly asked, "Have we identified which unit was airdropped?"

"We are deploying personnel and high-altitude optical reconnaissance aircraft for reconnaissance. Accurate results will require some time."

Under questioning, Fisher responded.

Williams slightly furrowed his brows, a hint of displeasure appearing on his face. Seeing this expression, Fisher's heart sank. After organizing his thoughts, he continued to the Supreme Commander.

"However, based on our analysis, the ZAFT Forces MS unit airdropped at Victoria Spaceport this time should be their Ace Squad."

"What I need are accurate results, not to listen to your guesses and analysis here."

With a touch of anger in his expression, Williams spoke displeased.

Fisher quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, Supreme Commander. I was too hasty. Please calm your anger."

Knock! Knock! Knock!!!

Just as he was sincerely apologizing, the office door was knocked. Hearing the knocking, Fisher felt somewhat annoyed but dared not show it in front of the Supreme Commander. Suppressing his irritation, he calmly said to the door, "Come in!"

After these two words, the door opened to reveal the Adjutant entering with a document in hand.

"What is it?"

A faint displeasure flickered between his brows as Fisher asked with detached coolness.

The adjutant, looking at the commander and the commander-in-chief on the comm screen, instantly understood why the commander was somewhat displeased. Suppressing the nervous urge to stand up straight, he maintained a calm expression, raised his hand, and saluted the commander-in-chief and the commander.

"Commander-in-Chief, hello!""

"Commander, hello!"

"Skip the pleasantries. Get straight to the point."

Waving his hand, Fisher urged him impatiently.

Lowering his arm, the adjutant stepped forward, placed the document in his hand on the table, and reported to the commander.

"Commander, this is the latest reconnaissance update."

"Understood."

Fisher gave a slight nod and responded indifferently.

The adjutant saluted again, lowered his arm, turned, and walked out.

The room door opened and closed!

Only Fisher remained in the room.

"Commander—"

"You skip the pleasantries too. Just look."

Seeing that Fisher was about to say more, Williams interrupted him, urging tersely.

Cut off, Fisher swallowed his words, unable to speak further. Nodding at the commander-in-chief, he opened the document.

His eyes scanned the contents rapidly, taking in ten lines at a glance.

A wave of relief and joy rose in his heart. Fisher set down the document and reported to the Commander-in-Chief.

"Commander, it's confirmed."

"Is it ZAFT's Ace Squad?"

Williams confirmed with Fisher.

Fisher nodded and replied.

"Through various means and persistent reconnaissance by our scouts, it has been confirmed that ZAFT's unique White MS is among them."

"In that case, you know what to do without me telling you!"

Williams nodded slightly, his gaze calm as he looked at Fisher and spoke evenly. Fisher nodded, stood up, saluted, and responded.

"Rest assured, Commander. I will ensure the Broken Sword Operation is executed flawlessly!"

"Don't boast. I want to see results."

Hearing the somewhat boastful tone, Williams frowned and warned.

With that, Williams ended the communication before Fisher could say another word. Staring at the terminated call, Fisher made another call.

"Broken Sword Operation begins!"

After those six words, Fisher ended the call.

Upon receiving the commander's order, the adjutant relayed it to the communications squad.

The communications squad, upon receiving the order, had all officers deliver the theater commander's command to their respective units as drilled.

"Notification complete!"

"Notification complete!"

"Notification complete!"

Reports came one after another from the communications officers.

The communications squad leader compiled all the reports, confirmed there were no omissions, and submitted the results.

"Commander, all notifications have been delivered. The Broken Sword Operation has commenced!"

After receiving the report from the communications squad leader, the adjutant relayed the outcome to the commander. Fisher nodded with satisfaction upon hearing the result.

"Hmm."

In the ZAFT garrison command post at Victoria Spaceport, after several discussions and much deliberation, Felix and Doug finally consolidated all their thoughts.

"Captain Griffith, if the situation truly aligns with what we've discussed and considered, your position might be quite precarious."

Doug spoke with a tone of concern, worry evident on his face.

Looking at Doug, Felix remained composed, showing no trace of tension, and addressed him calmly.

"I'm not surprised to encounter traps specifically designed for me."

As he spoke, Felix turned around, picked up a sausage from another table, unwrapped it, and took a bite. Looking at Doug, he continued with a smile.

"Honestly, it would be strange if there weren't such traps targeting me.

As for danger?

It's definitely much more dangerous than usual, but we can't just do nothing because of the danger, right? Besides, if they're setting up traps specifically for me, they're bound to use our comrades and fellow soldiers as bait.

I can't just stand by and watch them die."
