The two of them charge at each other, colliding violently. The woman uses some kind of strange energy that seems to course through her body, allowing her to strike or move faster.
Jack doesn't seem to be having any particular trouble. But you can tell he doesn't want to break the limits of his limbs. Ever since he got the scrawny guy's limbs, he's become stronger—if you ignore the fact that he lost a leg, which he replaced.
yumiel could understand this stubbornness when it came to fighting; still, if everything could be served to her on a silver platter, she'd be the first to say yes.
The fight grows more and more intense, the girl's movements becoming faster, sharper. Jack is overwhelmed by the attacks, only defending his vital points.
Defending as best he can, he waits, watching her weaken little by little. The blows she throws become rougher, less precise. Suddenly she appears behind him, her hand glowing with the same bluish energy.
Her fist is aimed at Jack's head. Dodging is impossible for him at the moment, as is defending or even turning around. He then decides to break the limits of his left leg. Slamming his leg into the ground, he creates a shockwave that ripples across the floor.
The woman is thrown off balance for a few moments, but continues her attack. With his leg planted in the ground, he pivots his body, dodging her punch. The woman moves behind Jack, now vulnerable.
Raising her left foot, infused with the same bluish energy, once again aiming for Jack's head. He turns around and blocks with both arms; the energy disperses and courses through his entire body. Yet he doesn't even flinch, pivoting his hand and slightly his arm. Grabbing the woman's leg, he says,
« 我接到你了. »
« 等待! »
Jack lifts her into the air, then smashes her violently into the ground, repeating the action several times until her face is no longer even visible or recognizable.
After that, he takes what is owed to him and sends her heart to yumiel as he heads toward the helicopter.
Alan saw the whole scene, remaining simply stunned. When they reach the helicopter, he opens the doors, lets them in, then locks them again once inside and begins the takeoff.
Inside, he discovers Kai sitting there, but also the rich Chinese man seated across from him. yumiel sits next to the rich man, stowing her daggers in a corner. Jack sits next to Kai. Inside, yumiel wants to speak, but the noise is deafening.
A headset is hanging right next to the seat. She grabs it and puts it on her ears as the rotor spins up. Putting the headset on beside her, the other three follow suit, putting on their headsets as well.
« Jack, you didn't tell me you spoke Chinese, that's great, we don't need Kai anymore, we can throw him out of the helicopter. »
« I just learned it from the men who were waiting for us when we exited the elevator. »
The helicopter begins to lift off, slowly rising from the ground and climbing higher and higher into the sky.
« I beg you, you're not going to throw me out at this height, I'll die. You promised to free me. »
Kai's panic is obvious, sweat pouring down his face. yumiel throws a glance at the Chinese man next to her, who avoids her gaze and turns his head away.
« Alan, who's this stowaway? »
The headsets are connected to each other, including the pilot's.
« I have no idea, he must have climbed in, abandoning his men and his bodyguards. »
« Ahahahah, classic rich guy, I swear. Alan, open the door. »
She stands up, unfastens the man, and opens the helicopter door. Holding him with one hand, she's about to throw him into the void.
« NO, wait, please, I beg you. »
He speaks with a very Chinese accent, far from Kai's, which sounds more European. yumiel hesitates before closing the door.
« Great, now I have three people who speak Chinese and English. But I only need one or two at most, so we're going to have to make a choice, it seems. » looking at Kai and the rich man at the same time.
He understands she's not joking. The rich man starts arguing, trying to prove he's more useful than the other.
« I have many contacts all over the country, I can help you hide, find someone, anything! »
yumiel chuckles discreetly; Jack, on the other hand, has a huge smile—the situation amuses him greatly. In response, Kai tries to plead his case as well.
« I… I'm very useful too, I can dance, sing, I'm fairly well-known in the country. »
The situation amuses Jack so much that he ends up laughing, wrapping an arm around Kai from behind and saying,
« I vote for him. Our little Kai, vigilante and strong arm of justice, ahahaha. »
« You're not going to choose these useless little nobodies! I have a thousand times more to offer you—wealth, power. Tell me! »
Amused by the situation, it's yumiel's turn.
« I vote for you. I prefer a network, power, and money. »
« Thank you, finally someone reasonable. »
Jack can't believe what the man just said.
« Yumiel, reasonable? You must be kidding. »
« Ahah, anyway, all we're missing is the opinion of our beloved driver. Alan, if you'd be so kind as to give your verdict. »
The helicopter is already heading toward the Greater Khingan forest. Alan doesn't answer right away, leaving a silent pause. He only responds after about a minute.
« I vote for both. »
« I knew you'd say that. We're keeping both, then. »
« Everyone, get some rest. I'll warn you in about an hour when we're close to the arrival point. »
The rich man and Kai look surprised when they hear it will take an hour to arrive.
« An hour? But… where are you going? » Kai asks.
« The Greater Khingan forest. »
« If you want, I know someone. Well, it depends where you want to go. And why? »
Exhaling softly, she says,
« We're trying to find a wolf. »
Jack speaks right after her, as if to finish her sentence. « A big wolf. »
« Alright, I see exactly what you mean. First of all, let me tell you that you had three cities—Mohe, Tahe, and Jiagedaqi—that no longer exist, razed by the wolves of the forest. You only have two cities left. And I recommend Tahe; my contact is there. »
« Alan, did you hear that? Set a course for Tahe. »
yumiel taps the rich man on the shoulder.
« I hope you're not lying to us and that you'll continue to be useful. »
